Rovers needs a manager with profile the ones we've had in the last 10 years fit in with the mostly midtable water treading ambitions. Apart from Coyle who wasn't even that good. It's just another penny that never drops in Pune maybe someone should try and explain it to them in motor racing terms. You can have the fastest car on the track but if you don't have the best driver for the job you won't win enough races. If we want promotion and if they wan't to attract players and get bigger crowds we need a good manager with a bit of clout. They have the wonga that's the most annoying thing about it but they'd rather just waste it.

I missed Downing off but i was thinking more about the ex Boro boys who pass through this way under Mowbray. There has been something odd with each one of them when you look at them in isolation.

The signs were there the other day for a performance like that and him not seeming that bothered. We are back to him saying fans judge on results but i judge them on effort and development. He is not, never has been nor will be a promotion driven coach here.

It needs to be someone who knows how to work with and develop young players that's a must here now. Also another vital is being able to work the loan market to maximum effect. Otherwise there isn't much point i'm afraid.

He started with a good line up up top today but as iv'e been saying all along the constant changes on the front 3 are biting us on the backside now. They played like strangers i lost count how many times one ran one way whilst the other passed another way or two ran into the same space. My big question is what the hell have they been doing in training all week ? Why were they all so lead footed today like they were wading in treacle. Why so little to no movement and so many hanging onto the ball ? That has to come from the managers instructions at no point did i see him gesturing to them to pick up the pace or get forwards. Since that first half v Derby the performances have been getting more bizarre by the week.

That is now becoming a bit suss it's like he's just getting him his appearance money. That sub today at that stage made no sense whatsoever. If this kind of stuff plus the way ex boro players here seem to be able to do what they want was happening under a Kean or a Coyle there'd be uproar. As well as some very intense scrutiny.

If you want to convince people to buy STs beyond just pure loyalty you have to have a team and manager showing they really want it. Today was the exact opposite of that they looked like they were on a pre season friendly.

There's just no belief anymore though you could tell that from the atmosphere it was awful. Probably the worst its been all season and it certainly didn't help the players.

I was at the opposite side to the lino so didn't see what he might have but it looked legit to me. Was bouncing around for 30 secs before i saw the barstewards flag. I agree the officials were their usual standard of incompetence.

A 3 rd of every season under Mowbray is out and out relegation form. The only difference this season is it was preceded with a few months promotion form instead of the usual bang average stuff. if it wasn't we might well be bang in trouble.

He didn't look offside to me it looked like one moment of class play.

About 14k home fans on today so clearly the support IS there. After watching that today if they were handing them out free people would be handing them back.

Then in comes another old pal of the manager who was doing very little if anything at all with his time. Well the ground has always been too big for us so nothing new about that and the dreary 'Your support is...' gets an airing at most grounds up and down the country. So again nothing unique in it towards our fans. Agree though some of the expected crowds are mythical non more so than in the heads of some of those running the show. Back to being 12k on a good day but its gone up 3k since the early part of this season and not all on the back of cheap tickets. Just by having a #####g go on the pitch most weeks that's all the regulars ask for. As for the part timers well if the club won't try and draw them in properly they ain't going to come very often, not rocket science.

Funnily enough i was thinking about that barnsley game recently and remember sitting there thinking this guy will never get us out of it. He was trying odd stuff in that game instead of just getting them stuck in although not his fault he inherited dodgy signings like Wes Brown. Was obvious in those first few games TM was a plodder and an over complicater, the that can hold stability and improve a bit but hold you back at the same time. A go getter he isn't but i'd love him to ram those words back down my gob.

Those two have one of the best gigs in English football for a host of reasons. No way are they walking away from here of their own accord.

The people at the club never really know what is happening so how anybody on here does is a bit fanciful. Best to file this stuff under 'we want to develop the Riverside' and 'we are getting a new pitch', oh and 'the owners want promotion' It's called playing to the gallery.
