v Blackpool (h) - 9/4/22

First Nobbers v Lashers for about 9 years i think so that'll be fun and hopefully it takes it out of them, fancy a draw for that. Wonder if Preston have gone cat A or A++ for this or is it only our clueless lot that ruin derbys with that caper. As for our game against Blackpool i see pretty much the same stuff as recently, one good half and having to come from behind. Rovers 2 Blackpool 2 Hopefully the Tony Parkes angle proves a nice distraction, forget about play offs forget about Mowbray just win it for the real Mr Blackburn Rovers ! 14,456 -
Attendances: A cause for concern
tomphil replied to SIMON GARNERS 194's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
The DE was their own idea and after selling a thousand at discounted price they went and flunked it expecting similar at full whack. Idiots. -
Is he back from his winter break yet ? Only Rovers can sign a guy who has form for allegedly pulling this stunt, then wonder what's going on when he pulls it.
-
In other news Judan Ali is liking Myers tweets praising the owners again on twitter... Buckle up folks it could get crazy again soon 🤣
-
Well if they gave him a big budget non of his followers can blame it on the Rovers fans for hounding him out. Somehow i expect a few will try that on though.
-
Smells to me of moves to try and get them to chuck a contract in front of him sharpish, nothing more.
-
So he's advising players not to sign but asking them to bust a gut here every week in the meantime ? Wouldn't be surprised to see him off to another championship gig at all but would be surprised to see the likes of Nyambe and Rothwell follow him anywhere. That doesn't stack up as he was doing his level best to flog Rothwell. Alongside the clearly strained relationship him and Nyambe have always appeared to have. Lenihen well he maybe would but we've already tied down Travis and TK so what about them ? There's as much chance a few are waiting to see him leave before they'll sign.

It really isn't an option is it. Anyone with a smart brain would seek additional outside sponsorship for it to help with increasing costs, I agrre though it's likely to be a Waggot reduce costs make himself look good move. Lets not let this top 6 fight cover over what was happening not long ago. There are forces at work down there who want this so they can move sites, downscale and make money. Self interest is the watchword here but just who is debatable. I'd feel better if that guy was on his way in summer before anybody else.

That's been more evident this season than ever before because it was all set up for another midtable slog hoping to keep a young small squad in midtable. The good run caught everyone out especially those in charge and they've not quite known what to do. If ever there was a time to twist and not stick though it was January in 2nd place and a nice gap between 7th. As usual though far too complacent and lethargic from those in command. Just a shrug of the shoulders and an as you were attitude and we'll see were it ends up. Well we all knew were it would likely lead, the ownership should have been insisting it was driven forwards. -
What does it actually entail going from Cat to Cat 2 ? Just a cut in numbers ? Grants ? Or a wholesale downgrade of everything ?

So it is a separate entity but looks like it's funded by the club/grants and sponsorship. -

We pay the ladies ? I thought that was covered by separate sponsorship. -
One of the main issues through Venkys reign is the structure or lack of it running the club over here. At most clubs it is solid and stable and allows change and transition. Managerial changes are inevitable and all part and parcel of football and clubs have to be set up in a way to deal with this so it has minimal impact on everything else outside of the team. Not here, not by a long way. Agencies run it then family friend tv pundits and programme editors have a go and in between there is a shelf seller and a couple of snake oil corporate types. Until 5 years ago when a first team manager head coach or whatever he calls himself seemingly took over the running of the whole football operation. We are on dodgy ground again with this fella and his minions if there is a parting of the ways not to his liking. So no, whatever happens or whether it turned out for the good or not one thing is guaranteed it won't be smooth.

Wouldn't surprise me if there are a few names we aren't familiar with on that payroll. -
He has to learn the Blackburn Rovers way (AKA we don't know where to play him or we've had a look at him and hes shit) Something tells me he'll be starting next season regularly when we are down to bare bones again.

I hope behind the scenes he is telling the manager to play player in their correct places and play the forwards that are available. You can have as many fans as you want making as much racket as possible but if it isn't right on the pitch it makes zero difference. -

1st team squad wage bill as opposed to overall one. I'm sure it was on here recently it was around 10 mill. When we were in league 1 didn't Mowbray himself say it was around 5 million they'd allowed for that season ? -

I presume the bulk of that was on an outgoing because there wasn't much else to involve big agents fees. -

If the football wage bill is around 10 million as was mentioned on here recently but the losses are usually around double that something still doesn't add up. I know there are other costs but we aren't buying players for installments of millions either so where is the rest going or a chunk of it at least. Just who is on that wage bill and how much are some of this lot really on. -

Maybe they'll sell it back to the club when we've sold the next raft of players ? Otherwise what is next to transfer ownership after this ? I notice in there they've written off nearly 30 million of loans so that can't be a bad thing, credit where it is due. The only thing that really eases all this though is a season in the Prem. -

I smell another transition back to possession football if that's the case and a recruitment based on defensive mids. -
Some of Mowbrays sympathizers suffer from Kean syndrome i'm afraid - plane ? what plane ?

There wasn't a plan just a perceived opportunity to get a player on who hardly features and nobody knows why he was signed. Also i'll say it now if Mowbray stays beyond summer i reckon at some point in time Dolan will be off. This kid gets messed about by him more than most.
