  1. Brainwashed by these lot into thinking we can't even compete in the top 10. Can't go anywhere so the next best thing is to sit back and marvel at developing other big teams players for them instead. I wonder how many of these dozy plonkers will be paying in person to do this ?
  2. Defenders are coming. If feel we now have the squad to be challenging the top 6. I don't look at the table or care where we finish as long as i feel individuals are developing. Bauer wanted 40/50k pwk. We keep losing but i'm happy with the performances. Accountable for what is said eh ? Hmmm seems a bit selective if you ask me.
  3. Again i just think it provided a good excuse for him to rotate more than usual. Also when you've got players supposedly injured, out for a game then back a few days later then out again then back again it's a bit beyond the norm.
  4. It does and that along with selecting sides due to opposition, who we are already better than has hindered us his entire time imo. It's how he's always worked though and this season certain other reasons added have took it to extremes. He must be the only manager this season who'll rest some of his best players, in games we need them, because he doesn't want them tired in another 2 or 3 games time. You carry a big squad so you don't have to do that. His mind must be like the inside of a bingo machine.
  5. I could see all 3 attracting interest from top end Championship clubs if the money was cheap. There could still be a guaranteed 10 million including reduced initial fees, add on's and sell on's for those. Yes they are worth far more to us but a fire sale is just that. Depends on how dire the situation might get, add in Armstrong then there might be 20 million there. It probably won't happen but stranger things have here.
  6. I'd like to see 3 or 4 partnerships allowed to develop within the side. Never really get chance here they are paired according to opposition. That's before any injuries knocks or niggles put them out. Then there is the rotation, another cat he let out the bag recently when referring to someone with the line 'it was his turn'.
  7. Lenihen, Travis, Nyambie to start with. Like i said might not get the big bucks but a sale is a sale, with the famous add on's.
  8. Could just be a severe budget cutting exercise though and don't forget the last one which started under GB lead to a fire sale. This squad is ripe to start selling now even if the prices they have in mind might be impacted by the pandemic. There's still a couple of years running costs could be recouped but it would need a lot of sales. If they've borrowed that money to pump in it'll need paying back at some point.
  9. I often wonder when under this ownership we'll ever get full backs who can actually defend well. It was the same with Henley, really quick but defensively he never looked like getting to grips with the positional side of it. Or the cutting out of crosses and tackling. Then we have Bell who again is all about pace and breaking forwards but like Henley an awful defender. Nyambie is far from perfect but he's twice the player of these 2 because he's solid and can actually win tackles. I'm expecting similar from Pickering when he steps up a level and has to contend with Mowbrays systems. I guess flying full backs are worth more if you can invent one.
  10. More to it than that i'd suggest he knows exactly what he's doing. He's keeping players onside, agents off his case, doing people favours and is able to hide behind 'squad development' when challenged. It's the perfect storm for him, we hit on something that works then go on a little run. we lose one then another crazy cycle of rotation begins until he hits on something else. As long as one or two players look like they are going to be worth money it could go on forever.
  11. Not sure in what way if what you said previously is true. Trust to get consistent results and make us a competitive top 10 team ? - Fail Trust his judgment on signing experienced freebies who deliver value for money on their wages ? - Fail Trust him to fashion a best 11 and the team to grow ? - Fail Trust him to do as he's told, play every player in his squad regularly somehow. Fit in players others want fitting in. And just generally be their latest human shield ? - Pass with flying colours. Seems that's probably more than enough for this shower.
  12. Just his latest goal post moving scheme this i'd wager. He bemoaned that we needed experience to blend with youth and get us into the upper end of the league. So they backed him with wages for Downing, Hotby, johnson, Ayala and the Trybull & Douglas loans. Most of those have proved underwhelming or made of glass. It seems that whilst that was going on someone has been driving the signings of good young players. Rumours of them advising against some of TMs experience signings in favour of youth instead. So now i reckon he's just switching tack and getting with it in the pursuit of youth. This has all the hallmarks of one of his little black book connection players. I think it'll form the basis of his summer recruitment. Young/cheap and known to him. He's a sly old dog.
  13. Yes as long as the contract makes sense there's no harm in these type of signings. Like you say though once this manager gets hold of them it's just another for the revolving team sheet. I'd prefer to see a real plan of building a solid first 11 to get as high up as possible as priority. That isn't how we work though it's just chuck and chance and hope for the best.
  14. Ryan needs turning into a good right back first and foremost. Far too much emphasis on the fact he has a bit of pace so is expected to be one of the main attacking outlets. Learn to walk before you can run the guy has all the attributes to be a cracking right back in this league. All too often he seems caught in two minds like his boss.
  15. Do we ever sign what we need ? This is just another 'look Madame i can turn him into something worth millions' type. Meanwhile the top 6 moves even further out of view.
  16. So Dozzelll is one these fabled job saving signings Mowbray has lined up ? Sounds worth a punt but prepare to be underwhelmed when this fella gets hold of him. Ten min cameos for the next 2 years whilst he learns how to play the Mowbray way.
  17. Look at the sheer turnover of players in and out, on and off and rotated though. Yes some players have to shoulder some of the blame but when the manager doesn't it's no wonder they don't seem that bothered. It all stems from him he either can't motivate them so has given up trying and just tries to keep them on side. Or they are buying into it and following his instructions to the letter, either way the buck stops with him. Said it for 2 years now but for where we want to go the whole mentality is wrong, not so much easy street as a collective we aren't good enough but it doesn't matter st. The whole way he operates though goes right against any form of successful consistency developing or any comfortable partnerships on the pitch.
  18. This. If you are so hell bent on developing as is the line he keeps trotting out then why not take the opportunities these dead rubbers present ? They could be forgiven then for saying the result doesn't matter too much. The last 18 months have been treated like one big experiment on the pitch anyway. Why not get right down to the bones of it for once. Should be an entire team of youth in their correct positions wherever possible, no excuses. However it'll be the same old approach putting old pros, favs and loanees first.
  19. A stroll in the park as Mowbray lets the boys off the leash again and another 50 changes makes no difference. They actually look like they are enjoying themselves now and why wouldn't they. Doddle this BRFC number. Rovers 4 Millers 1
  20. Eddie Howe would be absolutely perfect for Rovers at this juncture. He likes the ball on the deck but moved around at a higher tempo. Pass and move rather than pass then pass back. Likes young players and should have some decent connections. Perfect foil for what Mowbray has put in place right now. Sadly even if they'd stump up the money he doesn't like it up north so never a goer. Pullis and the like would certainly have the nous to have us punching higher. Just don't think this squad suits him at all. Wilder might do something with it but he'd need windows and backing to add that strength and character we badly need. As it is, Mowbrays squad, Mowbrays football and seemingly his job to walk or stay whenever he likes. As you where, roll up for the tombola midtable roadshow.
  21. I think he was preparing the ground for losing him for nothing and of course exempting himself from any blame at the same time. It was very much a cover all bases description of the situation. Touching on the player power which is partly correct. I often listen to Mowbray and wonder what the point of having a manager here actually is ? . He seems to concede everything very easily, whether it's the excuses for not winning or players leaving. One thing that does give players power is weak managers. They also never drive a team forwards and struggle to win games. I wonder what he sees himself as other than someone who thinks he's developing players ? Because he's certainly no leader players sniff weakness out at a thousand paces. He reeks of it.
  22. Hate to say but Burnley have the mentality that is missing here. They struggle like mad at times in the Prem, a tiny club out of their depth. But...they have Dyche a manager with a rank style of football but who knows how to rinse every drop out of what he has. Every season at this time of year they start pulling out the results that gives them another season in the land of milk and honey. Our lot with that manager can't even find the mental strength to even visit the top 6 never mind stay in contention with it. Every season it happens at Burnley and they hit their target. Every season it happens here after we've missed ours. It's all wrong but Shaun Dyche IS Burnley FC but Blackburn Rovers are Tony Mowbray. Too casual by too far.
  23. It's poor that its come to this and he could end up just winding his contract down. Then side stepping somewhere for nothing and doubling his pay as a result. They need to make their minds up pronto, stick a contract in front of him with a 'trigger fee' and get him to sign it. Too much sense in that and it should have been done by now but i think they haven't the foggiest how much he's worth. No bids seem to have come in so although the club itself, if not the owners, needs to sell they seem terrified of putting a price on him. Making a horlicks of it as usual, what is the point of this 300k a year CEO at all ? As for Mowbray, on this subject it is probably the most sense he's talked in 6 months. On anything in fact !
  24. A lot of teams just seem to switch off this time of year, job done. Disgraceful really but always been the case i suppose. It's amazing though how we just suddenly seem to switch on. There's no motivation here for promotion or top 6 it's like they all just accept it. Then suddenly it's out of sight, there's no pressure, hols to look forward to and moves / contracts to be earned. some of them ought to be ashamed of themselves and i don't just mean on the pitch.
  25. 'Seems he's saved his job for now with a few good wins plus Vs are busy with the pandemic in India' It's all to easy to go one way or the other based on assumption. Nixon makes a living doing that. In reality it's probably not there to lose only to walk away from, i'm sure some stuff gets drip fed out just to pacify fans and press. Get them to back off a bit whilst you get a few wins to completely spin it on its head. That's exactly what is happening now, bought a bit of time then created another illusion of turning it all around. He'll be in full good old Blackburn Rovers big historic club, should be in the Prem, overdrive again soon. Owners want us back there and i want to deliver it blah blah.
