  1. Bell's crap but he gets a new contract, Samuel was crap but got numerous chances, Smallwood crap at this level gets to sit on his arse on full pay for a season. This lad hasn't even had a chance as back up.
  2. But doesn't Venus do that ? Isn't he the one of dual roles coaching and sorting contracts. More odd stuff at BRFC.
  3. As we are i'd say very very similar to this season with a finish a place either side of this seasons. If as might be likely there's sales, budget cutting and a bit if any at all reinvestment then a bit of a struggle with a lower mid finish. Hopefully then a fresh change, new approach and a rebuild into something resembling a settled solid team, won't hold my breath though. I think some are dead set on making us the modern day version Gradi's Crewe. Only without the nice football.
  4. Perhaps one showed more leadership qualities than the other at Northampton. In any case i'd expect a straight swap will be the offer from the Blackburn end of things.
  5. What have they got against Wharton here i wonder ? Is he too local for the little cartels liking or something ?
  6. Yes don't forget the flex, another thing only banded about when it suits which is odd seeing as Waggot and co made such a big deal about it not long ago. Now we are to believe that any decent academy lads at some clubs are all on double what the likes of Downing and Gallagher earn here ? No doubt true is some cases but there'll be plenty aren't and what happened to splitting the wages in some % or other, has that conveniently suddenly disappeared as well.
  7. Because TM tends to see everyone he brings in as back up to what he already selects it doesn't matter if they could boss one position. They have to fill in wherever whenever and know their place. Great to keep certain senior players onside, great for team spirit. Not great to try and build a top 6 side i think only Tosin has proved an exception to that rule. In truth that only came about because of injuries and a loan of those above in the pecking order. Infuriating at times.
  8. List C lads remember. Don't concern yourselves with anything else.
  9. I thought the whole idea originally was to hold back time a bit or try to reverse it. Now it appears it's just about young women altering the way they look just to be different. Crazy to start that shit in their 20's this kind of stuff should carry mental health warnings. Storing up issues for later life.
  10. The difference in expectations by fans of senior experienced pros and lads learning their trade on the job. Really there is nothing unusual or out of order about it.
  11. Would all be handy to cover the financial hole of this season but it's still going some to expect a good budget next season imo. You're a finance whizz, how do you think they are covering it ?
  12. When you rise through the ranks it affords you a bit of breathing space and quite rightly. It won't last forever but i think if you read around on here most see Lenihen for what he is. He has limitations and stuff to improve on but overall he's average to good, potential to be solid but unspectacular. Reading of the game is a weak point of Nyambe and in particular Bell but surely it comes with age and games.
  13. Back to substance over style they set out to merely survive ever season and anything else is a bonus. I'd argue recruiting the more agricultural types is a bit easier. Still got to know what you're doing and what you're looking for obviously.
  14. Not easy though when you're Bournemouth how do you attract the kind of players good enough to improve your Prem standing ? Either got to offer money way above your station or just hope they all want to live in a nice area. He probably should have altered their style a bit don't think he has that in his locker.
  15. Lenihen is growing into a steady solid basic second tier defender who can serve us in the position for a number of years if they don't sell him. What we need is to marry him up with similar and get a decent keeper behind them to give us that reliable base season in season out. Seems they'd prefer to loan in ball playing center backs though who can launch a pass over a static deep sitting midfield. At this level that usually comes at the cost of that player not being as good defensively as he might be with the ball. That's the gamble, give me no frills defenders who can do the basics well over that any day of the week. Concentrate on getting in those who can create further up the park this is the championship remember.
  16. It's an empty debate really as we all know even when things are normal they struggle to get them out in good time. The priority at Ewood in this era is, has and always will be to kowtow to the owners first and foremost regardless of the impact it has on fans or team.
  17. Would need to be a blank one as well for anyone to get him up north.
  18. Think they just about covered what they'd paid for him in the end. About 3.5 million not the 7 million that gets banded about.
  19. Yet the min he went to Brighton he stated heading them in the right end. To be fair he made a decent alehouse type Prem defender. Agree though a total s###house of a guy. Morals in the sewer. Both were plonked in here to get fit get games and increase in value. Intention a quick stepping stone.
  20. Well we didn't exactly prosper with either of those.
  21. The only person to hold accountable there is that guy himself it's his call. Like i said he gets paid whatever so won't give a toss really.
  22. Someone very wealthy and owning the club and seeing that and hearing about his alleged behaviour off the park would have done just that.
  23. I don't think it falls into the realms of hanging the club out to dry so think about what ideas people and others clubs may be offering before jumping to faux offence on the clubs behalf. Some are actually saying they'd commit to paying up front iv'e even seen the idea of bonds mentioned so surely it's a sign of unswerving support and commitment that should be applauded ? Personally i can only think that maybe the small numbers for someone like us makes them think it isn't worth it. Say if you've 16k regulars and you know a third would commit to something up front it might be worth it to get a few quid in. Us out of about 9k would probably be lucky to get a thousand. So the cost of implementing it and then maybe having to carry it over into something else or refunds if things get bad again before it gets started makes no economic sense. As for stimulating well for a start regular updates from the guy on about 200 grand a year might be a start. Then of course that old chestnut the ownership and their silence. Surely a few words concerning continued backing to keep the lights on at least might help but instead we have the usual firesale/admin and the like speculation. Speculation that the club claims damages it but it does naff all to ever nip it in the bud. Why ? because those tasked with it don't really give a shit as long as they get paid yet are quick to turn it back on the fans when they come under understandable scrutiny. Silence isn't the way to run a club in the best of times never mind the worst but back on the main issue, if some want to commit at least give them the courtesy of listening and an explanation of why it might be declined. Don't simply just brush it under the carpet it's the polar opposite of hanging the club out to dry. Sorry to rant but you did ask....
  24. It's the same for all clubs we aren't a unique case and others are finding various ways to stimulate their ST holders.
  25. Duffy is almost in Orr territory for me i'd rather stick pins in my head than have him back here. Not that's it's remotely likely anyway.
