  1. Was there any actual evidence that the likes of Ross etc were suing the Trust chairman for miss distribution of funds because they'd lavished it on the club ?
  2. They weren't underwriting it though Barclays and the sale of players was. Their contribution finished a while earlier apart from a loan of 3 million which was due to be paid back.
  3. One arm saying go for it after friendly advisers saying they have just the man. Then the other arm, the one with the keys to the safe saying no the only way this toy is going is going bust ! Verdict = no backing, continuing sales, Owen Coyle, Wes Brown and Gordon Greer to plug the gaps cheap as chips.
  4. I'd assume that some within the Trust and within the Walker family wanted to do it properly and put Jacks legacy into decent hands whilst others in both camps wanted rid. Anyway, anyhow and as soon as possible so they could collect their unwarranted 30 pieces of silver. As mentioned above the fact con artist Syed was in the building looking at the books and probably planning his sting before he was outed by a journalist shows what a sham it all was. I still think that in terms of Vs takeover somebody somewhere was greasing the right wheels to make sure it got done. Once it became clear they could stump up the money and were running a legit business of course. Unless something was well hidden in the books the club was a steal. The values of just Jones and Samba alone who cost little or nothing in fees covered the asking price and overdraft. I'm sure that type of thing was a selling point by the spiv and his gang.
  5. Things are always a bit 'rare' around these parts ?
  6. It only seems to really matter after a relegation that's the only time there is a real sense of urgency. I still think they only potted GB because someone had stuck the knife in and wanted to get their own man in place knowing there was sales pending. Coyle, well god knows what was going on there with the recruitment of him never mind the getting rid, that one stunk. Something tells me though that they seem happy to plod in the championship.
  7. They'd always have it dressed up to about 10k including the complimentary's.
  8. Don't worry mate if things follow the normal path a losing streak will not be far away then they'll all be agreeing with you again. We've seen it all before ..... ?
  9. He must have been of age quite a while now iv'e often wondered if it isn't him running the show from somewhere whilst daddy and aunty finance it.
  10. Oversea's 'asset' on the company books or just money spent from spare funds like we all pay our leisure activities, who knows ? A season in the Prem plus parachute money might see loans going back the other way. They might get half of it back that way over a number of years whilst still keeping the club solvent. We'd probably end up in lge 1 again or worse though with no investment to get back but they might bugger off then ? Thing is there never seems any real drive to get there so it obviously doesn't concern them. I mean come on 15 million on 3 forwards in 12 months with the intention seeming to be tie that money up then maybe get it back with a cherry on top in a year or two ? Some clubs would build a promotion challenging side on that kind of money and this wage budget. Is that cash separate investment from somewhere just for investment purposes ? It still remains one of if not the oddest set ups in the EFL.
  11. Is their squad really 15/16 places better than ours ? Amazing what you can do when you have drive, ambition and an idea how to recruit and organise a defence. For what it's worth i think despite how well they are doing they are in a false position ( we most definitely aren't ) however i think they'll crack the top 6 this season. Injuries and loss of manager not withstanding of course. That club most definitely isn't run or influenced by agents and all manner of clueless or self serving. Burnley mk2 could well be emerging there.
  12. Doubtful we'll do anything in Jan like that wherever we are. TM is a stickler for over loyalty and going with what he has so it'll be as you were. He just isn't a bold manager we have to accept that and plod on with it.
  13. It won't bother him he's maintaining takings from decreasing crowds in the eyes of the owners. In fact if he increases takings over the season under the same scenario he'll be seen as a miracle worker by them. Surely worth a bonus. It is easy at Blackburn you just blame the fans, something quite a few have cottoned on to and positively encouraged by clowns who write columns in the local rag.
  14. Given how he arrived and how Mowbray works i'd fully expect us to sign Walton on a perm, fees probably already been agreed in principle. That'll be eating up next seasons budget so lets pray he comes good despite the flaws there's been one or two encouraging signs. Although i'm 100% that Raya should have been replaced with better goalkeeper is a position you don't gamble with if you want to go anywhere. If you can afford to spend 15 million on forwards in 12 months you could've afforded a good keeper, end of.
  15. It's an ongoing job we know that and you feel with this manager under this ownership we'll be in permanent transition because collectively they like to fiddle about constantly. However the backing they are providing now bobbing about in lower mid/mid table isn't good enough and that's why a lot of fans won't see eye to eye with their 'plans'. Some Rovers fans -probably about 4 or 5k - seem to have it ingrained into them that sitting in the middle of the second tier is enough for a club like us and will bobble along with that come what may. Every bit as misguided as those repeatedly being accused of feeling entitled. Truth is it was enough in the 1980's but not season after season these days when you have a competitive wage budget and are chucking fees about of 5 and 7 million.
  16. And it took a fearless kid having a go and a big deflection, that'll soon be drilled out of him ! But we'll savour that moment for now.
  17. Well earned win in the end and about time we had a bit of luck. Got subs right today i think and that was a vital 3 points it might be the only ones we get for a while. Overall though nothing has changed but lets pray it is a turning point they tend to come when they look least likely.
  18. Can't lump too much on the manager today it was mostly same old same old but looked a bit tighter and stodgier like early in the season. Had nil nil written all over it until the inevitable soft gifted goal. He owes Tosin and Buckley big time though.
  19. That looks to have a bit of balance to it which is completely alien to Mowbray there has to be 2 or three in uncomfortable positions every game.
  20. This is a good point about Venkys now. Whilst they appear to have decided to back the club again rather than just prop it up we need to be making the most of it and giving it a real push on the football side. That doesn't seem to be the case with these lot now they seem to want to drag it out. Sign investment types from the usual providers using up nearly all their transfer budget then stick a plaster over the weak areas of the team. The CEO or whatever he is only seems to want to fleece the hardcore and away fans whilst spending god knows how much on the corporate side etc. Mowbray is more concerned with jobs for the boys and ipads in the building. The ground still hasn't had a clean and last time i looked the entrance to Brockhall was looking grubby. Makes you wonder again who's getting a nice drink out of what ! First thing they should have thought about was boosting crowds on the back of promotion by using some money to subsidize STs to a decent tune. Get the place busy again on matchdays and get a solid team started building from the back. Literally everything else stems fro there, use the backing for the football. fan side of it first and foremost.
  21. You've missed the point.
  22. Nope more likely they'll just downgrade again like they did a few years ago and turn the taps to a trickle after realizing the money he's wasting won't take us to the promised land either.
  23. If you want to pay it that's up to you it doesn't justify to anyone else. For once just hold your hand up and admit it is a daft rip off being sugar coated with something else. They'd no need to drag regulars into it or try and hold them to ransom to become 1875 members. All they really needed to do was open up the top tier of the BBE and offer 2 games for 40 quid or something in that area as a one off deal therefore reciprocating what they wanted to charge the visitors in the opposite end and satisfy the rules.
  24. Preston Then it all depends on who comes down i'd wager but Leeds is nailed on they'll never go up.
  25. Who is going to save up from Aug for a Sheff Wed game in early November ???? Most likely match by match pick and choosers would straight away earmark that as one they'll swerve. However i expect the few hundred who will swerve it might be balanced out by those taking up the 3 match offer. It's all about justification to Waggot whilst maintaining similar takings in regards to home fans and pining the hopes on the extra wedge from the visitors. He ain't really bothered how the takings come as long as they come and be warned if this works for this one and Leeds there'll be more earmarked for it next season.
