Jon Dahl Tomasson - Sweden coach
tomphil replied to Tom's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Pains me to say it but Sweden coming in and paying up his contract might be the best thing all round. If he goes though Waggot and the assorted cretins in the shadows need finally rooting out as well. Otherwise the next one will be hung out to dry, whilst they pocket about half a mill per year between them for doing nothing but degrading the club. -

That should have happened ages ago and that is down to the head coach nobody else as he knows he's been dealt a bad hand so shuffle the pack. Point should have taken priority over performance or individual development of young players all this trust the process nonsense is garbage. Sometimes you need to take a step back for a while then go again but it doesn't seem in the capabilities down there and if he goes the rest who survive everything down there should go as well. Unless maybe they just don't have any input other than bibs and cones but that Remi guy is a chocolate fireguard he makes Venus look lively. As for the keepers well every single one that leaves here gets better after looking like a schoolboy in our goal, even TK it has to be said was going backwards under this regime. We are in a real dilemma. -

That lad needs withdrawing and putting in the U21s for the rest of the season whilst we get in a back up or first choice keeper. That is an absolute priority, -

It said medical emergency in the crowd. Unlikely to be a riot against Cheltenham even for that rabble. -

Funnily enough i mentioned similar on here a while ago i don't think his heart has ever been in it. He was here as a stepping stone nothing more. We know all the other issues contribute but for me hes never been all that. -

He's had a few digs at fans and he strikes me as one who is here because his club sold him and he is being paid well to be here. I don't think it was a move by much choice on his part but he isn't my cup of tea as a player or character. -

Yes when you have everything around him to protect him. He's not a bad player but like i said he rated by some a lot higher than he should be he is a one great game in 10 defender with the rest being average or piss poor. Not good enough but a general reflection on the whole set up. -

Iv'e been biting my lip on this for a while but HYam has been absolute gash this season he is way overrated here on the back of a handful of good performances over a season and a half. The thing you need from a centre half is consistency and organisation and he's never delivered either. -
Pears can pass it out better though.......

Not really bothered who might be a better footballer in a few years and who might be worth a few quid, this jam tomorrow attitude will get us relegated. I just want someone who comes in and makes a contribution and bangs a few in so we don't get dragged into a dogfight which is a real possibility this next few months. If that person is Sam Gallagher then so be it, turning down 1.5 million is cheap compared to another relegation. In an ideal world we'd sell him but this isn't an ideal world it's where all the cutbacks have left us. -

I think the growth on the back of the Prem era of a lot of young local lads following the club and old enough to be off to away games helps. It has become fashionable again and lack of nightlife and anything else to do round Blackburn makes a day on the lash at the footy out of town more appealing than it once was. Regardless of us not being very good these days. Midlands games were badly attended often in our later Prem era. -
I always detested Monday night games in the Prem era it's the last night you can be arsed dragging yourself there and only 12pm Sunday kick offs trump that. You do get used to it though but we haven't had it for over a decade so it seems very unnatural now. Also it ruins the crowd and atmosphere even more but the club cover that in the tv fee which isn't too shabby. Mind you when you're sat at home as an armchair punter it's great to have footy on the box on a dismal Monday night 🤭

Well no you don't know and neither do i. I wasn't presenting it as fact just assumption that he'd have to play a few games to prove his fitness and it be worthwhile the club triggering it or however it comes about, Alongside asking the lad if he's still committed which all seems perfectly reasonable to me. It's all immaterial anyway because at the centre of it all those in the finance dept will want rid whatever. -

Well i mentioned it but was asked 'why would that be a great job for him ?' I give up. -

I'm sure the player and his agent have a say in it as well and think about it there must be some protection in it for the club etc. Something has to trigger a clause surely. -

I agree the last bit is a likely scenario. On the other bit though consider Ipswich are allegedly bidding on a player who isn't fit and hasn't played for months so by that logic there is every chance there'd be interest in summer. -

Unless you've seen the contract you are guessing just like me but often appearances trigger clauses so there'd be nothing unusual in that it's why players often disappear out of sides. Doesn't alter the point that there could still be a fee in summer for him so maybe the situation to get rid is't that desperate now. -

Not if he makes a few more appearances and maybe triggers his 12 months. Still a potential fee there in summer if he can stay fit and get a few goals, can we really risk letting him go to be replaced by nobody ? -

Probably not that many more but it shows again the great hardcore we have as a town club which these billy big bollock clubs don't understand. We have just about the worst run of form in the Championship over the last few months i'm amazed there's over 600 going ! -

It's ok we'll be told 'he wants to go' so we can't have an unhappy player. Mind you it would be just like Rovers to give him a new 18k a week contract then he gets injured again ! It's a tricky one this but more worrying is the likes of Ipswich trying to cherry pick our players after half a season back in the Championship. -

Didn't they recruit people with a track record of lower league talent spotting ? If so then where is it ? Several foreign market signings in summer surely have GBs fingerprints on them, then we have Ennis from a promoted lge 1 team. Other than that Prem loans which probably come via agents. Hardly a ringing endorsement for the new set up they could't even find a keeper suited to English football ! -

No wonder Mortons game time then when he really should have been on the bench for a period. -

So we now have the managers agent on the scene moving people out and both guys frozen out of the side. Oh dear. %%%
