Unless I have missed something I think that you are the first to mention racial predjudice Sharrock. What makes you think that it is connected to racism? It may be of no comfort for you being stuck in the middle of it but racial predjudice or for that matter colour predjudice, has absolutely nothing to do with this atrocity.

Sod complicated economics Philip......... we'll just get finished paying for Wembley being built 100 miles too far south when now we'll have to stump up for another extravagant cockney bean feast! Yet again all the country pays and gets nowt in return whilst the South East gets all the benefits. Anyway who the flerk (foreigners or natives) can afford to visit and stay in London anyway?

Bit naive Colin cos for a start his agent who will have been chewing his ear for months and wearing down his new found scouse home-boy resolve will get a %age lump of his transfer fee (20% of 35 million is 7million ffs or about the same amount that Porto want for Mcarthy!) and any extra wage that they can scam out of the Russian......... and I'll bet that Mrs Agent will certainly want a Bentley and an apartment in Dubai. ........... and anyway whose to say that the pair of em haven't already arranged with Rick Parry to be desperately unhappy, homesick (and of course disappointed about the lack of atmosphere in Chelseas derby match v Spuds) in 12 months time?

Yeah right BUT never mind GS according to reports Bellamy has seriously p1ssed Shearer off too! And up there AS is above God. Without that fact Souness may have had to eat humble pie, but I cannot see AS sanctioning his return. An all round very unhealthy way to distribute power and run a club. Sad really....... Oh well never mind eh?.

I'll bet the likes of Deadly Doug and Ken Bates would rather suck worms than sign up to those conditions! -

But Ewood was hardly packed to the gills on TP's testimionial night was it Paul? The malaise now we are struggling to even attain top half status is that the novelty of being in footballs top drawer is wearing off. Also despite official figures we all know that inflation is exceeding the growth in salaries in the Blackburn area. A lot of people are hard-up and having to priorotise and of those that can afford it the less committed ones are beginning to drop off. As I've said before for those of us that remember those days this is the mid sixties all over again. I rem allsorts of appeals in the LET etc for the fans not to desert Ewood but they may have well left the trees standing in the forest for all the good it did. -

Well you would say that wouldn't you CLB? http://www.lofoten-info.no/default.htm Lovely place where you live isn't it? What are the property prices like? -
imo When he gets his signings Hughes will play games with a different formation employing different tactics for different opposition which would mean that forwards would be interchanged regularly............. and we all know what girly strops Cole throws when his is subbed!

A timely intervention Den. I was just about to be as rude to them as they are to me. Thanks for stopping me lowering myself to their level. Old William Golding had it about right with human behaviour didn't he? -

See its not hard to be polite and respond in a proper and mature manner is it? But I still cannot agree to allowing some people to pay half who in the past have been quite capabale and willing to pay the full price. Its bad business. Maybe I could see sense in raising the age limits a couple of years as kids do not seem able to earn sufficient money until they are approaching middle age these days. btw I still do not see why you took offence enough to be insulting though. I dont think that my post was condesedning in any way. I guess living in your house with you in it must be like walking on egg shells whilst trying not to break them. -

Why are you being so rude? This is all I said......."I see where you are coming from but you need to think things through properly. Isn't the whole idea to increase revenue? Sure a couple of thousand (at best imo) may be added to the attendance but the main effect of your idea would be to entice thousands of current st holders to pay half as much as they do now. The nett result could only be a big drop in income for the club." Just a pity that you are not as good at mental arithmatic as you are at making words rhyme with rude ones. btw Is your bravado based on the possibility of a collective ganging up on me with the myopic John who doesn't appear able to read and the other idiot? -

I think you've largely answered your own question there Paul. Its a question of the depth of dedication in any one individual. People will always find an excuse to avoid parting woth the folding stuff. Most say they will still go to the important games but we all know that that commitment will quickly die away. It doesn't help not having pay-on-the-door turnstiles as attendance by necessity requires unecessary effort to plan and organise. -

Yeah right Scotty. But maybe your dumbass attitude is why some people are questioning your suitability for a role (other than making the tea that is) in this ISA initiative. I may indeed be wrong and if I am then nobody will be happier than me I can assure you but what reason would I have for fabricating false stories compared to JW whose only option at this stage if my version is indeed accurate is to try to exude confidence? For your own good I suggest that you need to think things through more slowly. Anyway time will tell. -

Jack sold the family 'silver' including its name when the right price came along! How traditional is the Jack Walker and the Walkersteel stand anyway? 15 years ago and for a century or so before they were the Nuttal St Enclosure and the Riverside ffs. I'm obviously older than you Scotty. I lived through the decline of all small clubs in the 60's and imo there is so much similarity to today. Just think if sponsorhip could have saved the clubs demise then and the ground had been renamed the Edgar Pickering stadium, or similar, then how many now would rail against it being changed now? Wouldn't that be viewed as going against tradition by the younger fans? You know it would. The less committed supporters are rapidly falling away again as they did then. Bitter criticism (largely unfounded) is being levelled at the club by many of those who used to pack the stands, I regularly attract ridicule for defending the clubs position! I can tell you that is certainly traditional in Blackburn! Just like after the 1960 FA cup the weaker supporters used failure as a reason to desert, and so it is now. Crikey being involved in a relegation battle to stay in the top level should actually be viewed as a storming success for our tiny club! But the weaker characters amongst us seem to think that we have failed and underachieved if we are not competing toe to toe with the like of MU and Chelsea. I hate that sneering ignorant attitude and it p1sses me off big time. These are the same people who bought themselves or their brats Lpool / MU shirts in the 70's and 80's. I want a successful and vibrant club punching its weight and competing with the best at the top level in this area without the need to depend on a benefactor. Whats wrong with that? We were only resurrected cos of JW no other reason, without him we would still be eating dirt in the football wilderness. Change is necessary in all things. Dinosaurs famously couldn't change with the requirements of the times and what happened to them? If you want tradition at the expense of success Scotty then you'd surely be happier supporting Accrington Stanley. -

[Archived] Paul Dickov Signs - Good Deal Or Not ?
thenodrog replied to Baz's topic in Football Messageboard Archive
If the worst comes to the worst and we fail to sign any of our other targets the partnership of Dickov with Kuqi will provide little finesse and lots of blood sweat and toil, BUT I cannot imagine many centre half partnerships relishing playing against them. -

Talk about fiddling whilst Rome burns! We simply cannot afford to be picky! I spoke with a source within the club (nobody famous) who informed me that to today 5 days after the 'claim your own seat' deadline that we have sold in the region of 6000-7000 season tickets! I personally have also been shocked at the amount (and quality) of people who have told me that they are not renewing! It's sh1t considering the effort that Hughes & Co put into keeping us up given the quality of the players at his disposal. He's turned the club around and is being slapped in the face by the Blackburn public for his efforts. So what if we played defensively and didn't score many goals? Apart from one player who himself is no world beater there were sod-all goals in the strikers at his disposal! Fact! Forget all the recent mb arguements imo there has not been less talent and goal scoring potential in a forward line at BRFC for over 20 years! Bothering about the piggin name of the ground whilst everything else is going down the pan is symptomatic of the stupid myopia, nostalgia and irrationality that impedes and fogs any clear and businesslike thought in most aspects of football business. -
