Not often we agree on things Jim but you are correct in this instance. Newton was head and shoulders clear, however imo and to be fair Le Saux was easily the second best left full back that I have seen since first going in 1961. But I gotta say........deep breath and wait for the flak........... Simon Garner although a legend at the club would no way be selected in that sort of company on a pure ability / everyone fit and in their prime basis. I can readily think of 10 far better players.

Although I didn't actually see him kicking the seat in, it did occur to me to confront him but then you see he did have an 18" piece of wood in his hand. Think that could have been me trying to take a souveneir for the trip Wouldn't fit in my bag though so I thought i'd leave it for zak to refit in the morning. I hope that you are joking! But if you are serious then you are pathetic and a complete disgrace to our club. In fact you are no better than the dollopers to the left of us yesterday. Think about it! You take the rip out of the intelligence and behaviour of the average Burnley fans and then set out to emulate them by ripping seats up and chucking coins at their players. You really are no different are you? Worst of all think of the possible repercussions. What measures do you think would have been taken against BRFC and yourself if you had caused a serious eye injury to the player? btw If I was part of admin that would have been your last post.

Going on the attendance of every game featuring reduced ticket prices I doubt that very much indeed. This should be a category A game so why cheapen it? And if you were in charge at Ewood with a remit to stay in the black just how would you expect to make any money?
-
If's and but's. And here's another for you. imo (notwithstanding that Burnley would have got a lot bigger allocation than we have received) there would be a much bigger home crowd should the tie have been drawn at Ewood Park.

wow spelling corrections from an Aussie - shouldn't you be pulling pints by now or is it only when Aussies come to England the only work they've got the brains for is behind a bar? Yes we do - and just for that I think I will report this infringement!!!! Sorry if I got the Villa date wrong - If it was after we had thumped them 3-1 they beat you then I apologise for not checking my facts. On the Dick head - I mean Dickoff thing - well our central defenders (McGreal/Sinclair and even young Cahill) have dealt with better. Todd's a good defender but you know Ian Moore does seem to have a knack of scoring in this competition. The player that concerns me most from your squad is Savage TBH We have 2 wingers that your defenders have to deal with. Whilst it may be at a higher level you have conceded 36 goals in 27 games - we have conceded 25 goals in 31 games. You have the added pressure of being expected to win - and win comfortably against a squad from a lower division that consists of 14 senior pro's - just let that sink in 14 senior pro's, imagine losing to that. Imagine it after the game, a squad containing not one player good enough to get into your team (according to you), from your arch rivals who can't even muster enough senior pro's to fill the bench and you have lost - wow what a bummer. Of course if recent reports are anything to go by you could have kicked our team off the pitch by then 80 coaches? Unless your planning to park one across your goal I am not sure how they are going to help you. You know, you started out quite well, but now of late your true clarrot vitriol is beginning to shine through. Frankly you are boring me you sound just like the rest, trying to downplay things when in fact beating us is something you want most in the world. I;ve read your boards, go on pretend not to be one of the hateful masses, I don't care. I did not really give a toss about the outcome of this game, the premiership and our staying in it is far far more important than beating a borrowed team with no history or accomplishments. But, you know what your sorry ramblings have made me hope we beat you, and beat you well. Even so if you get hammered you'll be playing your "nothing to lose card" but all the time you'll be crying behind the hand before you fold. May be beat you and beat you soundly just for the hypocrites as your self. Stop letting the dingles get to you. Only to wait 2 more days now and there'll be neither sight nor sound of em.

Dont want to divert this thread too far off course but the battle that they are fighting is a losing one imo. I'll prob get lambasted for this from the usual sources BUT everybody knows that not only is Blackburn too small a town in population terms to compete at Prem level but the section of the population who historically support the Rovers is diminishing relatively quickly, whilst the section of the population who percentage wise tend not to follow the fortunes of the towns team is rising at a similar rate. Something will surely have to be done to address that situation if BRFC are to survive in the med to long term. Dunno where JW and TF go next with this issue but if they can get a response in that direction to the tune of 5000+ extra season ticket holders at normal prices then they can have another rise next year too.

Strange timing but some report that I heard yesterday put Man City at 16th wealthiest club in the world. Guess I just dont understand accounts.

Timing it right was not that big an issue. MH had to await the arrival of Sav to provide a defensive balance to the midfield which allows for the attack minded MGP to profit at the expense of the more defensive capability of Steven Reid. -
I've no problem with Barry Ferguson admitting that he made a mistake leaving Glasgow. We could'nt have known how deep his lack of character was when he first signed for us. Neither have I a problem with him wanting to go back to a footballing backwater and forsaking any chance of being taken seriously or gaining any respect whatsoever as a quality footballer. BUT would it have been too much to expect that he paid back the wages and transfer fee that he blagged out of the club? And especially so with the money that BRFC were good enough to pay him whilst he was crocked for 6 months. BY HIS OWN ADMISSION IT WAS HIS MISTAKE! HE SHOULD BE FORCED TO PAY FOR IT BY LAW. Footballing contracts are pathetic. Any normal business deal would contain penalty clauses and conditions to cover the breaking of a contract or non completion of a contract. The entire episode still stinks of fraud.

Oi! be serious, there's money on this.

maybe but even I could have scored a hat trick last night. -
"This was a time when football hooliganism reached a peak, although there were untimely echoes of this violent past when Burnley were last at home to Blackburn, on December 17 2000. Blackburn won 2-0 and hundreds fought it out in Burnley's shopping precinct, with around 20 charged with public order offences. Stores were looted and for more than an hour after the final whistle Blackburn fans were held at Turf Moor for their own safety." Spoken like a true dingle! The selective memory feats of our tree dwelling rivals are reaching staggering proportions. Surely he should have the decency to admit that that event was down to Burnley numpty's and Burnley numpty's alone? No doubt in years to come that will have evolved into a famous battle where a gallant 20 dingles defended their beloved town centre from thousands of crazed, rampant woad painted Rovers fans.

It's a fluke. Fair play on this occasion but anybody who can make regular predictions like that would not be seen dead in a 10 year old Nissan sunny! -
There is no room for sentimentality in the Prem. Period! It's very regrettable no its a sin and a shame that he ever went to Rome but it's time for Jansen, BRFC and us lot on here to move on. He's been given every chance by GS and MH and it's patently obvious that he is not up to playing football at the top level and never will be again. His wage is costing us a player. Gotta be cruel to be kind sometimes guys. Move on.

Try dropping Tugay and playing Flitty and do that scoring thingy again and based on a physical game we would be a damned sight tougher than the class of 2000. Given that Spurs and Lpool Foreign Legions Res had little heart for a dour battle on a ###### pitch I dont think that Burnley will find Hughes's BRFC will roll over quite as easily. And if you negate their blood sweat and toil then scumley should be no match.

I have a horrible suspicion that Sav may be out injured.

A statement echoed in every boardroom bar 2 or 3 in the land...... and even at Chelsea only 50% of that statement applies. -

Cant rem where I posted it now but I did point out about a month ago that MGP and Tugay would come into the equation once we signed Savage and had stiffened our midfield up. -
Pretty good summary scotty. I'm suprised nobody's mentioned Lucas Neils tackle on Huckerby. Watching from the middle of the Riverside I was amazed that he was not given a straight red. Credit also to Huck for not making a bigger meal of it.
-
So you did it because you were concerned about the safety of fellow Rovers fans, a noble gesture, I'm truly impressed, if a little sceptical. Be as sceptical as you want Glenn but no matter what the rights and wrongs were I was not the one making any decisions. I wish I had that much influence. We simply made a suggestion over the phone to Tom Finn's sec and the club obviously re-assessed the overall situation, agreed and took appropriate action.

Coventry have averaged 2 goals against all season! btw Never mind them scoring 2......I am struggling to rem the last time we won a Prem fixture 3-0!
