  1. Only because you so obviously and pompously consider your vote and opinion to be worth more than that of other members of the electorate. A dangerous cocktail should enough people of similar persuasion ever acede to positions of power.
  2. And just as a matter of interest and in order to clarify your point for some of our newer members Bryan who cannot see you in your polyveldts, arran sweaters and your generally unkempt, unwashed appearence ......... which side of the argument are you coming from? oooooh....... I just hate people like you who insist on stereotyping others!
  3. What a stupid thread for stupid pillocks with stupidly short memories! With our squad, our defence and our early season form I'll be happy to finish above any 3 other clubs this season!
  4. Agree totally with your last sentence. BUT 1. Dickov scored from a cross v Norwich. 2. Its centre halves hoofing the ball skywards that causes the problems. 3. So supposing we could get Thierry Henry (comfortably the planets worst header of a ball) for 150 grand, you wouldn't want him either? When Dickov eventually leaves / retires or whatever who are you gonna select as your next hate figure? After all people like you always need one. So stop carping you sound dafter by the minute. You should be using this as your sig......... From Sundays press........"DREAM TEAM STAR MAN: PAUL DICKOV (Blackburn). Zat Knight will be having nightmares about him for months."
  5. Dickov has been excellent DESPITE not having a big man alongside him. I dare say that he would be brill next to a Shearer of Niall Quinn type player. Maybe an extended run with Bothroyd will reap dividends. Keegan and Toshack were as good as it gets in the 70's yet KK was only about the same size as Dickov. Just a thought but why would any player with half a brain punt a high ball to a 5ft 6 centre forward who's being marked by a 6ft 2 centre half anyway? Just another thought...... Henry is a tall bloke but how many balls does he recieve in the air? None! He cant head a ball so Arsenal do not pass it to him in the air. Simple game innit?
  6. Good grief! What a priority. Who are you really Eddie? Jonathen Ross? Julian Clary?
  7. Not really GS came in like a new broom too. As I've said before if somebody had poached him away after we won at Spurs and pipped Everton for europe GS would be remembered in a far far different way by the supporters.
  8. good job souey and tnd opinions count for nowt at ewood "Hughes has publically stated that everyone starts with a clean sheet. So its up to Gally, if he responds then well and good," I stand by what I said waggy. Maybe Gally reads this board (a taj unlikely coming from Shad) and hangs on my every word like you obviously do by dredging this up waggy. ......anyway just as one swallow does not make a summer so 2 half games do not make Gally the answer to our prayers. imo we have only 1 'proper' centre forward in Bothroyd so the question is with every player fit and available who plays beside him? Dickov / Jansen / Stead / Gally? And there's only one answer at the moment.
  9. Not true but a commonly held viewpoint. Emertons form has been good right from the start, check it out.
  10. If the end product was there he would ...... 1. not be here and 2. would have cost some other club a lot more than 150 grand.
  11. I don't love him at all. He is not a good enough striker and tackle other players horribly in almost every game. 5 goals 2 of them on penalty in 15 games is not much. It comes to an average of 0.33 goals per game. 1 in 3..............Roughly the same return as Andy Cole's when he was here you numpty!
  12. Name me a succesful side that doesn't have a "scrapper" and you may be able to validate your point. Arsenal have Viera, United have Keane *(and want Gravesen allegedly), Liverpool have Gerrard. We still need a central midfielder to share the workload with Ferguson. Tugay was excellent yesterday but when we next see another performance like it from him? If Thompson or Reid can move into the middle then fine but we need a ball-winner. Whilst Tugay plays there can be no room for MGP. In our position we need 3 'physical' scrappers and one creative player in our midfield.
  13. Time to hold my hand up. I did not want Hughes as manager simply because I was concerned about his motivational skills. Most players are self motivated when playing for Wales and I would rather have gone for somebody with managerial experience at club level. However I have to say that imo the team is now working hard and for each other as a unit. And the "effort = results" ethic is clearly evident.
  14. Well thats not bad for starters is it? In itself no, of course that is what the judicial system and the police have to do, but it is not all they have to do. Part of their job is to be able to help those who commit the crime, not help in the sense of benefits or rewards, but in helping them overcome their problems. Except in very rare instances, I do believe that most criminals are a victim themselves of either their circumstances or an illness. Does this make their crimes any better or worse? No, but what it does mean is that they should be helped so that they won't do it again and so that they can re-enter society. The judicial system has to work to both prevent crime, punish it, and then make it so that those who committ will not do so again if they are released. This is what the "perfect" system would do, we aren't there, and all of those sections will have it's faults and be the source of problems, especially the first and second. I do think that those who are doing these sorts of crimes are sick individuals, and most probably don't serve enough time in prison, but to say they deserved to be put to death is a bit extreme don't you think? We don't do that to mass murderers, why should this be considered that much worse? I thought we had left the world of an eye for an eye behind in this section of the world, but I guess some of you would like it back. Think Leopards and spots and do yourself a favour. Should the european courts overule ours in a few short years time would you allow Peter Sutcliffe or Ian Huntley to give your wife daughter a lift home?
  15. But thats exactly the issue! How can you be so myopic Eddie? My wife and kids would not dare to walk through Corporation Park or Billinge Woods at night! No right thinking local person would ever consider it for a moment. I would think that even the police will not venture there alone ffs! Its wrong that it should be so and I suggest that the main reason is because of soft headed, do good theorists like yourself who cannot see the wood for the trees. (excuse that pun too.)
  16. Disagree rm. Yorke's best answer would have been to score ONE goal last weekend! But if he ever had any fire in his belly it's long gone.
  17. here you go Chris. Andy Cole lead Fulham 0-BRFC 2. Respectful but muted revues for Cole's efforts compared to yet more rave ones for Dickov's. When one's in a hole it's usually wise to stop digging Chris.
  18. You've got to marvel at the human race's never ending ability to inject some humour and by doing so help to defuse virtually any sensitive topic / situation. I got this tm last night........ "Due to intense Press attention following the recently reported instances of monkey noises and verbal racist abuse Dwight Yorke is reported to have gone into hiding! .................. .....................His agent says it's OK and not to worry as Dwight will come down when he's hungry. " btw I have also recieved a few that are definitely NOT funny but rather sick and well ott re:the late Ken Bigley. No more of those please.
  19. Well thats not bad for starters is it?
  20. Great workmanlike performance. Fulham were dissappointing but lots of credit to the Rovers for being in their faces all the game. We simply did not allow em to get into any kind of rythm. Just one whinge.......... we should have won this game comfortably by half time. Other sides will not be as uninspired nor as profligate as Fulham. Still Bothroyds available again next week.
  21. Be better PR to stay seated rather than clap Cole imo.
  22. Because they are morons, and gullible, easily led morons at that. If that seems like a sweeping generalisation, well it probably is, but if you vote for the BNP you are a cretin of the highest order. Simple as. Strange how the most 'liberal' often seem to object most to the workings of a democracy.
  23. Exactly! It's not intended so much a punishment as a deterrent. Capital punishment is abhorrent but it's existence is necessary. Punishment only comes when all else fails. Capiche? Kinell JBN I thought you'd never get there, but I see there is a glimmer of hope.
