[Archived] Rovers V Birmingham 3-3 (phew)
thenodrog replied to cn174's topic in Football Messageboard Archive
Reid was the most to blame for the 3rd goal. He made absolutely NO attempt to challenge Melchiot whatsoever. btw havn't read all this and havn't seen the tele either but Andertons goal looked like he or Morrrison(?) were offside. Were they? -
have to disagree with her on that one. Respect to her for not stirring it up though banned for life? Have you never done anything that you regret later after having a few pints and in the heat of the moment? Or does your screenname simply refer to mineral water? Jesus says in the bible 'let ye who is without sin cast the first stone'. Still feel like throwing a few millionpints?
-
S'funny that cos I cant rem him chucking up when Cantona committed GBH on Matthew Simmonds! imo he looked far more sick when our 3rd went in.
-
err................. didn't he give a major reason to leave cos Steve Bruce promised to play him in central midfield?
-
Thats a contradiction in terms if ever there was one! You've more chance of finding a Dodo than one of them.
-
Thats Bollockks Brownie! I've seen Yorke miss loads of one on ones with the keeper. One thing that is true is that it would still have been 2-3 cos the lazy git would have never ever have got anywhere near to the ball for the 3rd goal! This might be a taj contentious but I'm with Marcel Desailly here, Big Ron was unfair in suggesting that in some schools he would be called ferkin lazy etc etc........or at least whilst Dwight Yorke is still pulling on a football shirt he was! He certainly did sod-all to prove the Ewood crowd wrong did he? His movement and contribution were abysmal, any normal person would have bust a gut to ram the insults down the crowds throats but not Dwight! Oh no! The man is nothing but a gutless, useless spineless apology for a footballer now. He's only fit for appearing on 'Im a c list celeb, get me out of here'. No wonder Souness resorted to kicking him to try and get some sort of response out of him. He obviously did'nt kick him hard enough. If Gs had broken his leg like Yorke claimed he tried to do would anybody have noticed ffs? Mark my words, it'll not be long before he's getting similar treatment at St Andrews.

Stange Times indeed. I agree with Jim whole heartedly. Well I dont Glenn! What a load of bllocks all this is! Storm in a teacup imo. How about keeping a sense of perspective on this? Out of a crowd of approx 20000, 2 people represent 0.0001%! Never mind Jim and the rest of the nimby sh1t stirrers I should say the "kick racism out of football" campaign has been an unprecedented success. Make too much of this issue and there'll be regular visits by small numbers of Burnley fans clad in brand new blue and white scarves making monkey noises every week! Be warned! If this match had been played last week before the Spanish affair there would have been no monkey noises and even if there had been there would not have been such strong accompanying headlines.

Whilst I know where you are coming from I fear the majority of people that wish to stand throughout a game would want to do it from behind the goals whilst either standing sideways and taunting the opposition supporters, or facing the back trying to start some appallingly tuneless chant about low wages / Burnley / or 'getting into em'. -

Oh well thats OK then. We'll just have to let em carry on regardless I suppose. There's no point in trying to alter things for the better is there? You will prob recognise the shocking bit Matt when something similar befalls a female friend or member of your family from people previously 'instructed' by these primitive barstewards. -

This (these) is obviously a very serious offence but imo it will get worse in future. Speak to many women / girls in Blackburn that live near Asian areas and they will shock you regrding the level of vile sexual verbal abuse that they recieve from Asian youth simply because they are white women. It seems that many of these people simply hold no respect for white women and treat them as being lowest of the low in any manner that they feel appropriate. I suggest that they should be taught more awareness, respect and social skills as children and less warped interpretations of the Koran during their daily visit to the mosque. BTW Does anybody know whether or not the teachings and indeed teachers in these places of supreme influence on childrens development come under any sort of regular inspections or scrutiny by our authorities? To even help with the running of a Cub scout football team nowadays adults must be vetted by the Police to determine suitability. Does this happen in the mosques? And is the 'content and direction' of their teachings ever scrutinised? -

Ominous whisper from the Brum side after his latest injury that they fear Dunny is finished and crocked for good. -
[Archived] Poll - Falling Attendances.
thenodrog replied to Tris's topic in Football Messageboard Archive
If people want to financially help BRFC then stuff free travel to away games and attending away games in general. Then simply spend the £50 that the awayday costs by taking a non attending mate(s) with you to home games or just spend the money in the club shop / blues bar etc. Boring but true. -
Oh God! Here we go again. Scapegoat number eleventeen coming up. Or is it just me that thinks that this will not be Jims last word on the subject?

Bryan! As in 'Bryan' from the Magic Roundabout? That explains it. -
Give what a rest? Hughes ridiculous and immature behaviour deserves censure. Whats Tris supposed to do, break into a quick chorus of 'For he's a jolly good fellow' and congratulate him on his bravery above and beyond the call of duty? Rem children........It's not big and it's not clever! btw Spoke to Wiggy today and despite his protestations he had had the day spoiled by some numpty kids continually leaping to their feet in front of him. Total lack of consideration and basic manners and the height of ignorance imo.

In essence you are suggesting that Hughes conducts daily training sessions either with his eyes firmly closed or wearing a blindfold? Please rem that he sees them all in action far more than us. -

But how many other countries can you name nowadays whose political / legal system works like that? -

1. I would have said definitely 'forward' IF he had played up front with Cole as intended. It's not Dickov's arrival that has damaged us but rather Cole leaving us short of firepower because of a girly strop. (The only good thing to come from it is that I wont have to look at the sulking bbasttrrds scowling fizzog ever again.) 2. Not Dickovs fault at all. Thats the managers choice of tactics, criticise Hughes for that if you must. Dickovs hardly cut out to play on his own up front is he? The only option open to him would have been to do a Dyer and refuse to play. What would you think of him then? 3. You really must try to be more objective and not to have favourites to like and hate. It's odd to me but so many people apparently NEED to have a figure to ridicule and hate in the team, even when that player has left. Bloke behind me (like a lot of others) used to hate Sherwood with a vengeance till he left then it was Carsley, after him Lucas and Johansson in equal amounts copped it until Amo appeared....... ......... and then I moved seats 6 rows forward. ps new bloke behind me just hates every referee now...... from the first minute to the last! -

I'm not legally trained but shouldn't the term 'pre-meditated' apply somewhere in response to the points made in your argument? -
Voted for Sherwood not just for his technical ability but rather for his superb ability to run the midfield, as well as read and control the pace and direction of a game. Also for him hardly ever being injured (until he went to spuds that is ) and an ever present in the Championship winning season, and being one of only 3 captains (?) to have lifted the Prem trophy. I would loved to have voted for Mekky though. Blackburn born and bred, played loads of games for us, a real 'character' and one hell of player with superb ability and a first touch made in heaven who really should have left BRFC early in his career to play at a higher level. His only weakness being far too reliant on his right foot.

Rum do this. Listening to Radio Lancs feelings are runing high and the (elderly) natives are definitely restless. Obviously there has been a major cock-up regarding the announcement and the timing of it, and this needs to be investigated (and maybe resolved with another sacking if necessary). BUT has TP been doing voluntary service at Ewood? Has he hell! He's had a cracking 34 years at Ewood, has earned far more than any of his contempories from the same era, and he will receive one hell of a severance package in compensation. So whats been done is now history, lets not bother too much and lets get on with more important things........ like prem survival.

What do you base that tripe on? We were never in the top 10 and Cole didn't score 15 last season! In fact Dickov scored more than Cole in a worse team. Anyway get used to it we havn't got Cole and things will just have to move on! You may as well say we'd have won today if we had Shearer or Duff or Andy McEvoy or Fat Fred Pickering. Your attitude is a case of if my auntie had ###### and all that. One thing I could say is that if we had 2 Dickovs in the team we would have more points but that would make me sound as silly as you. We are still in big trouble without doubt, and Prem survival is in the balance but you are definitely pinning blame on the wrong guy. -

Ah! There's the rub mode_m. Gangly and gawky as he is his success last year was simply because his shots were frequently on target. This year they are not! So if he does manage to beat the keeper he still misses the goals. I've no idea why or whats happened but that is the crux of the problem with Steady. -

Oh and I've not forgotten you waggy.......That arm must be aching fit to bust by now! btw .....Still think Stead is our first choice striker? imo 'Bambi' is simply vying with Gally and Jansen for the honour of being 3rd choice.
