  1. Absolutely delighted for Adam and feel privileged to have seen him playing at Rovers. From what I am aware, Adam has triggered the additional payments in the transfer now so Palace will pay GBP23m for him. There is a 15% of profit clause on him so I think we can be reasonably certain that another GBP10m will come our way and potentially pretty soon. Palace are sure to demand close to GBP100m. Newcastle are at their FFP limit so could not bid. Everton desperately wanted him but are totally screwed. By going to Palace he joined a club on the up (4 in the England squad plus almost certainly Mateta will be getting international recognition) AND was certain of starting which wouldn't have been the case at Newcastle. Adam's first game for Palace included a few mistakes but since then he has looked far more at home in the Premier League than ever he did playing for us. Who would have credited him being statistically the number 1 midfielder in the Prem for tackles and interceptions? But that is where he is. Huge credit. to JDT and t6he coaching team at Rovers for that. Finally, had he stayed at Ewood, would he be in the England squad? PS I believe there is a sell on for Kaminsky
  2. His heart was always with Rovers. His enthusiasm for the club shone through every time I met him. Oh for that sort of passion and affinity in the direction of the club now.
  3. So is this the week of Waggott's triumph?
  4. I did a simple extrapolation of bottom half clubs' current form and added 3 points for each game left to play against Rotherham. 20 March going down with Rotherham were: Stoke 50 points Rovers 45 (Brum 12th on 60 and Huddersfield 16th on 55) 5 April going down with Rotherham: Huddersfield 48 on GD Sheffield Wednesday 46 (Brum 20th 48 on GD and Rovers 18th 52 pts) Actual end of season: Brum 50 points and Huddersfield 45 both down. Rovers 18th 53 points. So both Birmingham and Huddersfield fell away in form at the end and paid the price. Noticeable that 50 points was a relegation points total as far back as mid March. Rovers did better than simple extrapolation would have suggested we would do- those three late away wins saved us.
  5. The world will be Spuds supporters when they play Citeh and being Spuds they will roll over .
  6. Dingles as good as down and needing a third complete rebuild in three seasons.
  7. Think the manager ratings are fair although whoever prevails in the playoffs will deserve an upgrade and the other three a downgrade. Playoffs are a lottery and even more so with one off semifinals. Despite their points totals, all 4 have limped to the finishing line and cases can be made for and against. West Brom and Norwich are facing life without parachutes so will be extremely desperate. Leeds and Southampton can be handled by Rovers under Eustace playing safety first and exploiting defensive weaknesses on the break. Expecting negative bore fests.
  8. Waggott has to go. Retired Sail off into the sunset Booted Depart with thanks Given a golden watch Shoved out Whatever Be gone
  9. No more extrapolation or prognostication. 50 points weren't good enough in the end. 14 wins and 53 points kept us up. Sammy kept us up.
  10. Utterly drained after that but so happy. Can we play promotion teams every week next season please?
  11. Must win. Cannot go to Leicester needing anything. After the outfield players had a collective brain fart at Bristol, Pears was father Christmas for Ipswich and Wednesday and Eustace totally ballsed up the last game, Is it too much to ask for everyone to be on their game today????
  12. Haven't got a clue what formation, players or tactics either I would chose or what I think Eustace will choose. Might as well use a random number generator or play the under 18s..
  13. If Birmingham win at Huddersfield I think we are certainly down.
  14. Thanks Rovers for a totally sleepless night
  15. That defeat was entirely on Eustace. Rovers completely set up wrongly. Bristol City could have been just a very bad day. To have two such abject performances in three games means he is clueless. No benefit of the doubt now. Just doubt.
  16. If we lose all the last 3 I think it more likely than not we go down if Brum beat Huddersfield Draw today and the odds of relegation are thousands to one against. Win and obviously the job is done
  17. Today is all about the quality of our passing and decision making in the final third. We will get the opportunities. If we mess them up we open ourselves to the lottery of defending corners with 5 Wednesday giants in our 6 yard box as points stealers rather than consolations.
  18. You obviously haven't been watching Wednesday recently..
  19. No matter how we approach this game, it is an absolutely must win for Wednesday. That should make it very open. I would stick with 3 at the back to counter the alehouse tactics from Wednesday freekicks, throwins and corners.
  20. A draw is a let down A defeat could well be going down
  21. I have been on Ewood with 4.5k and 7k fans in the away end. The noise difference between the two isn't that much.
  22. I have the transfer deal privately from more than one reliable source plus it has been posted on here by others. As for 90m. The kid is just 20 and is still learning the PL game and is already a revelation. If Caicedo went for 110m (which he did) then Wharton 12 months from now, new England management etc etc... You can be pretty sure Palace will fight to keep him the way Brighton drive their transfer fees up.
  23. You need one to pick up the Wednesday guy on the D but yes one to give an out ball and keep Wednesday "honest" keeping at least two back to prevent the break.
  24. Michalski has played for the u-21s and been on the bench for the First team on one occasion. Everyone is forgetting Barnes. With the new coaching team at Ewood, we need to remember there are three new sets of eyes looking at not only the whole squad of players currently available but the 5 or 6 under 21s whose seasons were written off through long term injury. I would imagine if we manage to retain Tyjon and Finnernan, it will be with a view to them getting into the first team squad next season plus a likely break through for Duru. And let's see what we achieve with the loans in and out which frankly have been crippled by the late late non-shows in the last three windows. I do expect considerable churn.
