  1. As an international subscriber to Rovers TV every year since subscriptions were offered, I have received zero information from the club about renewal this year.
  2. Shurely shome mishtake here. We are buying completely unknown exotica in the remnants bin after the car boot sale. Makes the like of Ennis and Talalovic look certain successes. Hope I am wrong in my cynicism but this Championship season is going to be relentlessly tough. Even if they are good it could easily take these signings a season to get adjusted. McFadzean is a good move but whoever, plays alongside him had better be drinking their Red Bull because Fadz for sure hasn't got wings...
  3. Ben signing for Southampton for a 7m transfer fee. Villarreal did well there...
  4. Context as I see it: Szmodics will clear AT LEAST 2 million after tax more than working for us from a move to any PL club- he was always a gonner particularly after his interview with Big Sam. We enforced the extra year contract on Gally so he is valueless next summer. For a non-scoring centre forward it was always flog for whatever we can get for him this summer. And it is pretty obvious Eustace doesn't rate him all that highly either unlike Dolan whom we will keep unless getting a 5m-ish offer. SO I am going to give it to the end of the window before burning Ewood down but will be lobbing fireworks if at least 3 aren't here by Wednesday next in time to at least sit on the bench for Derby. BUT My reading of the accounts is we are about to be capable of making the 5 or 6 STRENGTHENING signings Eustace has spoken about even without Venky's dipping into their pockets. (And I am not counting John Ruddy to whom we will all be eternally grateful for his howlers at Ewood which in the end sent BIG CLUB down and kept us up) Failure to make these 5 or 6 signings will be yet another albatros round Waggott's neck.
  5. So who is buying Gallagher and how much for?
  6. Not saying there is. What I am saying is speculation about the book value of Rovers within Venky's accounts is spurious.
  7. I wondered where the pre-season match talk was... LT speculating Gallagher is missing because of transfer interest. Big opportunity for Tom Bloxham
  8. Disappointing but over stating the case for Nsongu in my opinion. I thought he looked better than Biniek of the two Rovers Polish youngsters in the UEFA competition in Malta last summer but Biniek has kicked on by all accounts and Nsongu less so. Perhaps folks who watch the Academy can add to or contradict this?
  9. Even accountants in India have to apply international general accepted accounting standards. That means every asset has to be shown at the lower of economic value (usually historic cost of purchase plus enhancements at cost less depreciation) and current net realisable value ie what can it be turned into cash for today? Given that Rovers are in the family's personal portfolio, it really has no consequence whether they have written down the costs of Rovers or not. Who apart from the Indian taxman is ever going to see their "true" personal financial state of affairs? I would be amazed if the net book value of Rovers in the Rao family accounts isn't a big fat round zero or even made negative by provisions. These accounting arguments on here are spurious in the extreme...
  10. Still can't read the words "Bayern Manager Vincent Kompany" without spitting my coffee out... Meantime I will let you know how my first day as coach at Real Madrid goes.
  11. Apparently face recognition has just spotted him doing his noodle shopping in down town Tokyo... More reliable than Nixon
  12. Most people as rich as these guys wouldn't have done anything as shoddy as mis-lable the acquisition of a private dwelling as a business expense or pass off a 3m piss-up birthday party as anything else. The tax benefits at the time were miniscule in the big picture of their wealth and the consequences more than a decade later are massively disproportionate. Humiliating rank stupidity by the Raos personally in full public view. These are probably both Balaji doings when he was hanging around with Tantric Jerome and convinced his siblings and in-law to buy Rovers but the sins of 2010 have come back to haunt Rovers and the fans, club and town suffer yet again. We don't know the appetite of Mr and Mrs Desai to continue picking up Balaji booboo tabs after the Bollywood studio and 200+m on Rovers etc etc. We can be pretty damned certain they don't want the adverse publicity and being held up to both ridicule and scorn as not public spirited which this case is bringing. If there is any way they can settle and hush the whole thing up, they are certain to go that route if they can. So I very nuch doubt we are going to see either a public denouement or any clarity on Rovers finances any time soon and by that I mean before this transfer window closes. Get your money on a 4th transfer deadline day balls up and this time Waggot getting fired...
  13. I don't think Szmodics has a release clause but Venky's have put a value on which is significantly more than Ipswich have offered. This could get nasty if that number is a lot more than the player and his agent believe is realistic.
  14. On any basis, Steve Waggot is a massive part of the club's failure- three lot's of transfer deadline cock-ups and all. What he has done is removed everyone of any talent and ability from the club who could be a threat to him and now the chips are really down he is clueless and drifting as finally the heat goes on him. As the CEO of a football club, he doesn't even understand that fans want to live their dreams. Last year when JDT was still here and we were coming off the back of missing a play-off on GD, he wittered on about buying a coach (which was hired) and avoiding relegation WITHOUT squaring with us why he was so pessimistic. He still hasn't come clean about the situation on funding from India - whether it is Rao family choice or ED dictat. What we are faced with is a useless CEO. Someone who has so manifestly failed to manage upwards that the Rao family are as clueless about what football club ownership entails as the day Waggot walked into Ewood five years ago. What is certain is that unlike the inheritance of the best management team in English football which came with Rovers when Venky's acquired us in 2010, any new owners now will find a useless void in the senior management which they would need to fill ASAP.
  15. Cash in then but on recent form we are underdogs
  16. Gareth Southgate masterclass. Apologies if already posted but worth a repeat viewing.
  17. Swag salary should go to the women. Would be a big improvement all round.
  18. Southgate is doubly screwing Rovers over. We are not getting the transfer bonus for Adam playing in a competitive England game. And in a squad screaming out for a forward threader of passes through the middle, Southgate is sending the message Adam is not good enough and is wrecking his onward transfer value from Palace...
  19. Every club that has a player in the England squad has a rescue job after this tournament. Every player will need restoring to the level and style of play they are capable of.
  20. England were the most boring team in the most boring Group. Wharton to come on as 115th minute sub and it goes to penalties...
  21. We are making a big thing of playing newly promoted sides at the season start. 3 in the first 4 games.
