I used that as an example to debunk the project myth. I'm certain there are other examples out there too. -

I don't disagree about the Academy but let's not forget that had the STC sale gone through and moved to the Academy site there would have been a strong likelihood that the Academy would have been downgraded. There wasn't a long term strategy behind that decision. -

I know what the problem is and hopefully everyone else does too but Tomasson and Broughton are complicit by talking about a three Summer transfer window project. That is where my objection is. This is football and there are more variables than any other business making it extremely difficult to make and plans. Unless you are a mega rich Premier League club then I believe it's too difficult to plan for the next few months never mind years. -

In what universe are we going to pay Steve Cook a comparable wage to what he is earning at Forest. He is contracted with them until July 2024 so that could perhaps require a few also. And what about blocking the pathway of our youngsters (© Gregg Broughton). -

When Steve Cooper took over bottom of the table Forest he set a target of taking each game as it comes and winning it to stay up. They went on a run, signed some decent players in the January window and got promoted. There was no plan for this. Once there the planning started for the Premier League and so far it's working. No mention of plans or projects, it's about the here and now. The rest can take care of itself. It's fantasy in my view to talk about three Summer windows as part of the timescale in the project. -

We originally signed Brereton on loan with an obligation to buy him in the January window. In truth though that was because we left it so late (sounds familiar) to do a permanent deal in the Summer window. I would imagine the contribution to O'Briens wages and loan fee will be a stumbling block (if the story is true which I doubt). -

It all back of a fag packet stuff, management on the hoof. Projects and plans? There is no plan that anybody with any sense can see. The only plan should be promotion this season and not looking beyond that. But we are hearing that the playoffs are not really part of the project yet. They insult our intelligence and yet expect us to keep turning up, paying our money and put trust in the process. Why on earth do we bother. -

I'm already worried for the Summer window. If we can't compete for new signings now then what chance in the Summer? I'm beginning to think what is the point of Blackburn Rovers. Are we just surviving, happy to tread water or is there any semblance of ambition. Two seasons running now we have been in good positions where some investment might have got us over the line. I despise these shysters for the irreparable damage they have caused. -

I too take the football serious and go through the whole gamut of emotions during the game and in the aftermath. I hurt too for what has happened to our club through these wretched people but I like the gossip and opinions and welcome them whilst mentally disagreeing with lots of them. Disseminating them might do your health a favour 😂😂. -

Isn't that part of a message board function - to speculate, to discuss, to criticise, to praise and many other things. There is no evidence that Tomasson is either happy or unhappy. It's opinion and subject to speculation and discussion. I wouldn't take it so seriously. -

Tomasson talked about not wasting a window on Saturday. So far we have signed Thomas for the remainder of the season and effectively lost our leading scorer who I believe will coast in for the rest of the season. I really wonder what vision the new management team were sold by the deadbeats like Waggott, Pasha and the owners. I honestly can't see Tomasson putting up with shambolic and dysfunctional way our club is being run. And who can blame him. -

Close to a deal, in the building....... We've heard it all before ad nauseam and still they try and feed us the same old guff. The errant ones have turned off the taps and if this is us for the foreseeable future. -
It is but I'm old enough to remember when all FA Cup replays took place the week after. It was only on police insistence (they said they needed ten days to mobilise officers and plans) and this then became the norm. It's only because Sky have all the power and control and they have insisted that our game against Wigan will still be played on Monday. It would have been more sensible in my view to put the Wigan game back to Saturday and play the Brum replay next week as it should have been. I'm at a lose to understand why Sky would want to screen Rovers v Wigan anyway but their grubby prints are once again disrupting our game.

At a match I am more excited when the ball is in the opposition's box more than anywhere else on the pitch but I find this modern way of trying to pass a way to goals tedious. It's risk versus reward and there are very, very few goals scored by playing out from the back. The number of goals conceded by playing this way is massively outnumbers this.
-
Wrexham v Sheffield United was a really good watch and the most redeeming feature for me was none of this trendy playing out from the back risky football that bores me. Give me the type of football I have seen here any time although the football snobs might turn their noses up at it. Goals from set pieces, long throws and great intensity.

I'm pretty sure that is the injury Scott Wharton got at Brentford and was out for around thirteen months.

The irony is that Lenihan could be playing in the Premier League next season with Middlesbrough. -
The game today summed up our season under Tomasson today. Mediocre for long periods, and good for other phases of the game. My real source of frustration is the slow, pedantic football where players want too much time and too many touches. This was typified by Buckley and Morton who I thought were shocking in the first half. They were sloppy, slow, ponderous and careless along with many others. Gifting opponents goals has become a worrying trait of recent times which is a real worry. Kaminski needs dropping - there I've said it. He looks devoid of confidence and is responsible for too many errors. Brereton was AWOL today, predictable in light of his summer move. Once again we have painted ourselves into a corner with nowhere to go. Gallagher, Wharton, Pickering and Hedges were poor in general today. Ironically our best two players since the World Cup have been Dack and JRC, two players clearly not rated by Tomasson and picked out of necessity. We had a decent spell in the second half in my opinion because we upped the tempo as Dolan at least showed some urgency. I sensed an equaliser coming for Brum and when it came I really thought they would win it. They bring Hogan on and we bring Vale on. A serious question though. How many players have we seen improve under Tomasson and his staff? It probably easier to say who has regressed.

He has form for telling people what they want to hear. Check out any FF minutes for evidence. -
He was at Lancaster in the NPL on loan earlier this season. If he is going out on loan they should be looking at least for an EFL or similar standard club.
-
He dropped a real bollock for United's first goal last night but then made some terrific saves. His kicking is better than both Kaminski or Pears. He does lack a bit of stature but if they wanted to send Pears out I would say Eastham is more than capable of being a second keeper.
-
We were hugely flattered by the scoreline tonight as United outplayed us, missed a host of chances and found Eastham in top form. I thought we looked a bit weary particularly in the first half when United dominated. We were much better in the second half and competed much better. Interestingly for all their dominance United got four players booked to our one.
