  1. He was at Lancaster in the NPL on loan earlier this season. If he is going out on loan they should be looking at least for an EFL or similar standard club.
  2. He dropped a real bollock for United's first goal last night but then made some terrific saves. His kicking is better than both Kaminski or Pears. He does lack a bit of stature but if they wanted to send Pears out I would say Eastham is more than capable of being a second keeper.
  3. We were hugely flattered by the scoreline tonight as United outplayed us, missed a host of chances and found Eastham in top form. I thought we looked a bit weary particularly in the first half when United dominated. We were much better in the second half and competed much better. Interestingly for all their dominance United got four players booked to our one.
  4. Two days ago they had sold 3,300. Since then they have gone on open sale so 5,000 is feasible.
  5. With five days to go and one a match day (and a potential replay too) the clock is really ticking. My heart certainly expects that targets have been identified and are being actively pursued, my head keeps reminding me that we are poorly run by idiots, skint and frankly have people running the club who don't appear to care which trumps the former. I have already prepped myself for disappointment so it won't be as frustrating at midnight on Tuesday.
  6. That's the real hurt for me too. I want everyone connected to Rovers to have the passion that I have, the hurt I feel when things go wrong and the commitment we show as people who care about the club. We have had the complete antithesis of this since 2011 and under the current structure I don't see it changing. Sometimes I really wish I could walk away and 'watch' another team but I am too involved emotionally with Rovers and that adds to the angst and frustration.
  7. Thomas is something we simply don't have. His crossing is good as are his set pieces. He is defensively dilligent and can play off both feet. In my view he will improve us and that is why we sign players.
  8. To the best of my knowledge it has happened twice on Waggott's watch but both were extenuating circumstances. The first one was when a match at Gillingham was called off late and for the rearranged game they put on free coaches for those who travelled to the first game by coach but nothing for any fans who travelled independently. The second was when the last game of a season at Norwich was changed really late to a 7.30 on kick off on a Saturday evening. I wrote to Waggott saying it was unfair on fans who travelled by car or train, many of whom to go every game. I suggested knocking something off the ticket price then everyone is treated fairly and that someone going to their first away game of the season would benefit and regular travellers wouldn't. After toing and froing with Lindsey Talbot (who said the price of tickets couldn't be changed - I proved her wrong) I was finally contacted by Waggott who said it was a fairer system but it was too late to change it. He promised that in future they would subsidise ticket prices rather than travel costs.
  9. I don't know if there will be a thread for Saturday's match but it looks like Brum will have a really good following.
  10. Dack's situation certainly wasn't helped by Mowbray publicly mixing him a bottle after we played Sunderland in October. He mentioned Dack's stats being his best ever and the suspicion was that there was an ulterior motive behind Mowbray's comments. https://www.lancs.live/sport/football/football-news/bradley-dack-blackburn-rovers-mowbray-25303006
  11. There was lots of frustration in Dack's cameo appearances earlier in the season which culminated in him stupidly getting sent off in an under 21 match. Over the past month he has arguably been our best player and seeing him get the players together in a mini huddle after Ayala's sending off on Saturday was testimony to his attitude and the esteem the other players hold him in. He has been probably our most talented player of the last decade. It will be interesting if we take up the option of another year in the summer.
  12. Hypothetically if one person bought a season ticket for £3m (or whatever his target is) then it's job done for him. There is absolutely no incentive for him to go out and get new season ticket sales. There is no canvassing and very little marketing which kind of sums up the Rovers malaise.
  13. Waggott is a symptom of the Venky disease. He really doesn't care about the general health of the club and he knows he will ride into the sunset shortly without a backward glance. His attitude is typified by the revelation about meeting his financial targets on season ticket sales, in fact boasting about a record in the takings whilst Two of remains over half empty. If he cared in the slightest he would have reduced the prices and try to sell more to still meet his target but that would have meant doing some work. It would have been a gamble of course but with his lazy attitude he was never going to take up the challenge of selling more. The Easy Street that is Rovers allows him Carte Blanche to do what he wants and his masters must think he is wonderful by reaching his targets albeit by preying on the loyalty of the regular eight thousand or so. There are lots of other examples of his laziness and awful judgement. I shudder when I think of the shysters who have been allowed to make crucial decisions during the tenure of these wretched owners. Waggott is up there with the lot of them and Rovers are paying him a fortune for that privilege. I would love to see him out on his arse but then who would the idiots appoint? I have said many times that there are a few posters who I know personally on here who would do a far, far better job for a fraction of the cost.
  14. I guessed it was a knock or something like that otherwise I think he might have started. He was good in his half hour at Rotherham as he was the following day in the under 21's which Tomasson saw.
  15. The first part of your post could come to fruition but guard of honour? No, nay and never in that order (unless you offer to pay Waggott to allow it).
  16. Did anybody hear officially why Markanday wasn't in the match day squad yesterday?
  17. In real time yesterday I didn't appreciate how good this goal was. The movement, accuracy of passing and finish are excellent. Great to see Morton so far advanced, we need to get him in these positions more. The finish from Dack shouldn't be understated neither. The keeper has a big part of the goal covered and Dack cleverly wrong foots him.
  18. I personally think Lampard is one of the entitled 'golden generation' of England players (who didn't deliver btw) who thinks football owes them a living. He is out of his depth and can't set teams up to get results. He'll get sacked for sure by Everton, go away for a couple of months and then reemerge somewhere new with a lucrative deal, fail and then repeat the process.
  19. After the debacles of the last two months I was certainly happy with our commitment. We tackled, put a foot in and fouled when we had to do that (albeit elementary) pleased me. We defended well throughout as a team although some individual mistakes were made particularly Kaminski who does have these basic mistakes in him but he can also be a match winner. I would say we allowed the Bristol player far too much room to move into before getting his shot away. I thought Ayala was naive for such an experienced player by trying to get in front of the Bristol player who cleverly 'rolled' him. Overall I thought we were worth a point in a generally scrappy game and some of the positives were a couple of recently out of form players looked like some confidence had returned. And the nonsensical passing around wasn't as much in evidence today and that is fundamental to results in my view. Wellll done to our away support again today.
  20. I really thought this season would be the one when we regain our position as Burnley's superiors but I was massively wrong. Kompany has done a terrific job, bought well and used the loan market excellently. But the thing I give them most grudging admiration for is their spirit. How many times have they come back from behind to win? I'm guessing ten but maybe Longsiders or Sympatheticclaret can confirm. That ethos cannot be understated and drawing the obvious comparison with us they are streets ahead in nearly every aspect of the game. That might rankles with a few and it makes me sad but it's the truth. Kompany for Tomasson? In a heartbeat.
  21. Tomasson trotting out the young team excuse (again) and said the average are of the team that finished at Rotherham was 23.3 years old. He didn't say that Rotherham were coasting then due to a combination of tactics, selection and lack of moral fibre. Bayes did point out the ages of at least half of the starting team but Tomassons cheesy grin appeared and he skated around it.
  22. I think today was the last as to claim your seat before going on open sale. I normally find for cup games a lot of the regulars where we sit don't bother and their seats are taken by non season ticket holders. To be fair nobody can use the price as a reason for not going.
  23. I was buying Birmingham tickets this morning and was told that we are close to selling our allocation (about 1000 iirc) for tomorrow. It really is a source of wonderment to me sometimes how good our away support is despite horror days like Rotherham and Burnley.
  24. Losing Hyam is a huge blow and I think it will adversely affect us for the period he is out. I honestly can't see anything for us on Saturday. Too many chocolate soldiers.
