Wrexham v Sheffield United was a really good watch and the most redeeming feature for me was none of this trendy playing out from the back risky football that bores me. Give me the type of football I have seen here any time although the football snobs might turn their noses up at it. Goals from set pieces, long throws and great intensity.

I'm pretty sure that is the injury Scott Wharton got at Brentford and was out for around thirteen months.

The irony is that Lenihan could be playing in the Premier League next season with Middlesbrough. -
The game today summed up our season under Tomasson today. Mediocre for long periods, and good for other phases of the game. My real source of frustration is the slow, pedantic football where players want too much time and too many touches. This was typified by Buckley and Morton who I thought were shocking in the first half. They were sloppy, slow, ponderous and careless along with many others. Gifting opponents goals has become a worrying trait of recent times which is a real worry. Kaminski needs dropping - there I've said it. He looks devoid of confidence and is responsible for too many errors. Brereton was AWOL today, predictable in light of his summer move. Once again we have painted ourselves into a corner with nowhere to go. Gallagher, Wharton, Pickering and Hedges were poor in general today. Ironically our best two players since the World Cup have been Dack and JRC, two players clearly not rated by Tomasson and picked out of necessity. We had a decent spell in the second half in my opinion because we upped the tempo as Dolan at least showed some urgency. I sensed an equaliser coming for Brum and when it came I really thought they would win it. They bring Hogan on and we bring Vale on. A serious question though. How many players have we seen improve under Tomasson and his staff? It probably easier to say who has regressed.

He has form for telling people what they want to hear. Check out any FF minutes for evidence. -
He was at Lancaster in the NPL on loan earlier this season. If he is going out on loan they should be looking at least for an EFL or similar standard club.
-
He dropped a real bollock for United's first goal last night but then made some terrific saves. His kicking is better than both Kaminski or Pears. He does lack a bit of stature but if they wanted to send Pears out I would say Eastham is more than capable of being a second keeper.
-
We were hugely flattered by the scoreline tonight as United outplayed us, missed a host of chances and found Eastham in top form. I thought we looked a bit weary particularly in the first half when United dominated. We were much better in the second half and competed much better. Interestingly for all their dominance United got four players booked to our one.

Two days ago they had sold 3,300. Since then they have gone on open sale so 5,000 is feasible.

January Transfer Window.

With five days to go and one a match day (and a potential replay too) the clock is really ticking. My heart certainly expects that targets have been identified and are being actively pursued, my head keeps reminding me that we are poorly run by idiots, skint and frankly have people running the club who don't appear to care which trumps the former. I have already prepped myself for disappointment so it won't be as frustrating at midnight on Tuesday. -
You’ve lost that loving feeling?
arbitro replied to Tom's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
That's the real hurt for me too. I want everyone connected to Rovers to have the passion that I have, the hurt I feel when things go wrong and the commitment we show as people who care about the club. We have had the complete antithesis of this since 2011 and under the current structure I don't see it changing. Sometimes I really wish I could walk away and 'watch' another team but I am too involved emotionally with Rovers and that adds to the angst and frustration. -

Thomas is something we simply don't have. His crossing is good as are his set pieces. He is defensively dilligent and can play off both feet. In my view he will improve us and that is why we sign players. -
To the best of my knowledge it has happened twice on Waggott's watch but both were extenuating circumstances. The first one was when a match at Gillingham was called off late and for the rearranged game they put on free coaches for those who travelled to the first game by coach but nothing for any fans who travelled independently. The second was when the last game of a season at Norwich was changed really late to a 7.30 on kick off on a Saturday evening. I wrote to Waggott saying it was unfair on fans who travelled by car or train, many of whom to go every game. I suggested knocking something off the ticket price then everyone is treated fairly and that someone going to their first away game of the season would benefit and regular travellers wouldn't. After toing and froing with Lindsey Talbot (who said the price of tickets couldn't be changed - I proved her wrong) I was finally contacted by Waggott who said it was a fairer system but it was too late to change it. He promised that in future they would subsidise ticket prices rather than travel costs.

I don't know if there will be a thread for Saturday's match but it looks like Brum will have a really good following.

Bradley Dack - Twist or Stick?
arbitro replied to bigbrandjohn's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Dack's situation certainly wasn't helped by Mowbray publicly mixing him a bottle after we played Sunderland in October. He mentioned Dack's stats being his best ever and the suspicion was that there was an ulterior motive behind Mowbray's comments. https://www.lancs.live/sport/football/football-news/bradley-dack-blackburn-rovers-mowbray-25303006 -
Bradley Dack - Twist or Stick?
arbitro replied to bigbrandjohn's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
There was lots of frustration in Dack's cameo appearances earlier in the season which culminated in him stupidly getting sent off in an under 21 match. Over the past month he has arguably been our best player and seeing him get the players together in a mini huddle after Ayala's sending off on Saturday was testimony to his attitude and the esteem the other players hold him in. He has been probably our most talented player of the last decade. It will be interesting if we take up the option of another year in the summer. -
Hypothetically if one person bought a season ticket for £3m (or whatever his target is) then it's job done for him. There is absolutely no incentive for him to go out and get new season ticket sales. There is no canvassing and very little marketing which kind of sums up the Rovers malaise.

Waggott is a symptom of the Venky disease. He really doesn't care about the general health of the club and he knows he will ride into the sunset shortly without a backward glance. His attitude is typified by the revelation about meeting his financial targets on season ticket sales, in fact boasting about a record in the takings whilst Two of remains over half empty. If he cared in the slightest he would have reduced the prices and try to sell more to still meet his target but that would have meant doing some work. It would have been a gamble of course but with his lazy attitude he was never going to take up the challenge of selling more. The Easy Street that is Rovers allows him Carte Blanche to do what he wants and his masters must think he is wonderful by reaching his targets albeit by preying on the loyalty of the regular eight thousand or so. There are lots of other examples of his laziness and awful judgement. I shudder when I think of the shysters who have been allowed to make crucial decisions during the tenure of these wretched owners. Waggott is up there with the lot of them and Rovers are paying him a fortune for that privilege. I would love to see him out on his arse but then who would the idiots appoint? I have said many times that there are a few posters who I know personally on here who would do a far, far better job for a fraction of the cost.

I guessed it was a knock or something like that otherwise I think he might have started. He was good in his half hour at Rotherham as he was the following day in the under 21's which Tomasson saw. -
The first part of your post could come to fruition but guard of honour? No, nay and never in that order (unless you offer to pay Waggott to allow it).

Did anybody hear officially why Markanday wasn't in the match day squad yesterday?
