And yet he was pilloried by some for walking away. The errant ones reneged on a promise and a principled manager knew he couldn't work for them as he pretty much couldn't trust them. -
It looks like Coventry could be in turmoil again and there is a suggestion our game there on Tuesday next week might be moved. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/63427703

A really good interview from Howard who has lots of praise for Rovers and especially the fans.

I couldn't find an appropriate thread for this article so I put it on here and hopy Rovers fans can read what I think is a feel good story. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-lancashire-63401327 -
One thing Hanley can always be relied upon for is recklessness. Burnley undoubtedly have some skilful, tricky players particularly out wide but in truth how many good chances did they create? At one point they'd had nine shots and only one of them on target. I honestly can't recall any real opportunities in the penalty area. In fact you could argue that Norwich had the better of clear chances.

He was but I thought he was a touch naive and hopefully he will learn from situations like this. Jutkiewicz got up slightly before Phillips and pinned him down. Hopefully this has been picked up by the coaching team and being worked on.

I'm actually pleased he got the job because now I won't have to listen to him droning on in radio commentary on 5 Live. ππ That said they'll just wheel out another ex pro who is condescending to listeners.

Have a look at the BRFCS Nostalgia thread on here. There is some great footage and photographs of the old Ewood Park. -

I really believe it's a natural trait as he swivels his hips and drops his shoulder. His ungainly running style probably helps him in this respect as I think opponents just don't know which way he is going. So reminiscent of Damien Duff in my view. -

Some different angles of Adam's goal on Saturday. I didn't appreciate how good the drop of the shoulder and little shimmy were at the time. -
Wolves fans vent their fury on Scott Sellars. I have to be honest and say I didn't realise he was at Wolves let alone in a powerful position. https://www.msn.com/en-gb/news/newsbirmingham/scott-sellars-felt-fury-of-molineux-as-wolves-collapse-against-leicester-city/ar-AA13hG7y

I can't answer your question as to why he wasn't sent off. Being truthful I can't remember it but that has no bearing on the correct decision to send Robinson off today for violent conduct.
-
It's a clear sending off though. Robinson was stupid beyond believe the referee was doing his job namely applying the laws.

If we had eleven giants find but with the likes of Dolan I think it's pointless. Years ago when Delap was launching exocets into the opponents penalty area Mourinho threw them a curve ball by keeping four players on the half way line at every Stoke set piece and throw in. Stoke had to put five men back and Pulis was lost as to how to overcome this. I'm not suggesting we keep four up but certainly one would occupy two defenders and not give them an opportunity to put the players in and around our penalty area. -
Roversβ¦Are We Any Good ?
arbitro replied to Herbie6590's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
I sit somewhere in between both opinions. Before the recent winning streak we were the epitome of inconsistent. When winning I thought we deservedly did so but that applied to losing too. It was almost like watching two different teams and for me was a real worry. It left me (still does to a degree) that Tomasson is learning about the Championship on the job and needs to have a different way of two of playing depending on who we are playing. That said his decision to play our wing backs on opposite sides against Sunderland and the rationale behind it was quite ingenious. But I do have a feeling deep down that Tomasson might be one of them 'lucky'managers who seem to get the rub of the green. Yesterday for example Birmingham should have got something out of the game, maybe even won. A combination of good goalkeeping and bad finishing saw us through. That has happened before too. And so far, with one notable exception we haven't had any big refereeing decisions go against us. -
Having watched and refereed reserve team (the old Central League) and friendlies I would say there is more intensity in the former. Clearly the first team is the priority but usually players are more competitive when there are points to play for.

One aspect I would criticise Tomasson for is at defensive corners when he has everyone back in our penalty area. I understand the likes of Gallagher and Brereton being there but when they went off we had Dolan picking up a Brum player. Surely he would have been more useful higher up the pitch occupying a couple of defenders and giving us a real chance to counter or at least an outlet to hold the ball up whilst we get further up the pitch. -
Matching coat and hair - how decadent.
-
He won't have a friend running the show and errant owners who wouldn't know accountability if it bit them in the bollocks.

I actually thought he was playing with a knock - he seemed to be flexing his right let a lot during stoppages. -
It looks like the big tanker had a couple of punctures today and then it's engine management failed. Still it won't be his fault - Teflon Tony ππ

I have to say Birmingham were the best team I have seen at Ewood this season. They made it really difficult for us and their manager deserves lots of credit with his quadruple change which really put us on the back foot. That is why, in many ways it makes the win even sweeter as we really had to dig in but we relied on Kaminski a little but too much for my liking. He was excellent today denying them in three one on one situations and some top drawer saves. In front of him Hyam was his usual self although I thought Scott Wharton looked a little low on confidence at times. The midfield three were really good too with Travis doing his own stuff, the dirty stuff he is good at. Adam Wharton and Morton looked to get us in behind whenever possible and Adam's goal was really well executed as he showed maturity beyond his years. All in all it's a great win against a very good side so we should all be proud of our young team. -
1-1 now with Whiteman equalising from the spot.
