  1. What if you have it and infect others?
  2. Kidd was the manager at Barrow for a spell. I'm sure they were in the Northern Premier League at the time.
  3. Thanks for that Lenny. I had it in my mind for decades that it was a night match and an earlier post on this thread sowed the seeds of doubt in my mind. I should have applied my old refereeing adage of 'never change your mind'. ???
  4. I was of the same opinion but when I checked one was on the 12th and the other the 26th. I assumed Saturdays but it could have been mid week.
  5. I read it as McEwans Lager? The scarf appears to have BRDSC on it. Any any ideas?
  6. The lack of fans would be a big reason for me not to subscribe. Games in empty stadiums that I have seen lack passion and aesthetically just doesn't do it for me. And the quality of the stream? When I read post match comments from some of our overseas fans about the stream lots are critical of it.
  7. They were close together John with Brighton on April 12th and Bournemouth on April 26th. As Tyrone said McNamee got a brace in the first game in a 2-2 draw and we beat Bournemouth 2-1. I was also wrong in saying one was a night match, it appears that both were Saturday games. Toe bunger? How very dare you. But Mac was a thoroughbred who Maldini modelled his game on ??.
  8. I was sure it was Bournemouth but it could have been Brighton. Easy mistake, both South coast beginning with 'B' (a poor excuse for a diminishing memory btw) ??.
  9. It certainly will be a disaster for small clubs and many won't survive but I also think that football in general without fans in a stadium will put it on the road to ruin. If the same thing happens over here that is being mooted in Germany (empty stadiums until at least next year) I really believe that lots of regular supporters will stop going. And more worryingly for the big clubs lots of armchair fans, pubs and clubs won't want to pay for games on tv in an empty, soulless stadium in my view. I really feel that the game as we have known it for nearly thirty years is about to change massively in respect of the Sky golden goose. Further down the food chain we will probably see fine old clubs going part time or even out of business.
  10. It was a night match against Bournemouth as I recall. We were in the Blackburn End and it was like an exocet into the top corner. During that era we only seemed to score 'scruffy' goals so that one sticks out for me also. Was Sir Roger in goal for Bournemouth that nighr?
  11. I think there will be casualties at all levels of football Stuart. The next Sky payment is crucial to the majority of PL clubs which will probably determine their futures. I spoke to a friend today and he said whilst German football is looking likely to begin next month the authorities don't believe there will be any spectators allowed until next year.
  12. A really good insight into how a big EPL club is struggling. With a wage bill of £230m per annum it's not surprising really. I honestly think this horrible pandemic is a real game changer for the game of football and many of the leeches who have been sucking on the teat too. https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/inside-story-arsenals-pay-cut-21854815
  13. Excellent news. Thanks for sharing this Stuart. Some good news in a sea of grimness.
  14. I don't do Facebook Mark - is there any other way of accessing them that you know?
  15. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/52249423 Norwich furlough non playing staff but sign a new player on a three year deal. They haven't admitted if they have paid a few of not but the timing of this is incredibly poor in my view.
  16. Absolute quality Leonard. Don't feel guilty about your perceived part in our relegation, it was because we were crap ??.
  17. It amazes me how these organisations purport to know what an individual earns. Outside of the club, representatives and family nobody really knows. Pure speculation and lazy journalism.
  18. Scottish football has been suspended until at least June 10th. For a tinpot league and national association they have been pretty decisive on this. Our leagues and association are so ponderous.
  19. Thanks Mark. That stick that looks familiar - was it belonging to Fr Stuart? Cassidy still reminds me of Count Dracula ?.
  20. Was the physics teacher call Hamilton John? I remember him as a bit eccentric and to encourage us to work hard he regularly asked if we wanted to be digging up roads for a living. I also remember quite a few teachers with elbow patches on their jackets which I'd never seen before. It's strange what daft things you remember ??.
  21. Dave Whelans grandson speaks a lot of sense and hits the nail on the head by simply stating that Championship players are paid too much. And how the he'll can Derby get away with paying Ince's mother £700k for scouting. Is it that she is a conduit for her son's inflated wages so it doesn't count towards P&S? If the football authorities weren't so weak they wouldn't even try such a flagrant breach of the rules. There is a massive, game changing time coming up and I really think that in the long term football and clubs will be better run. That is the ones that survive the next few months.
  22. Keep fighting Paul.
  23. I was in goal Mark and beaten by a bullet header for their goal. I remember celebrating after (I think we were in the away changing room) and Tommy Duckworth bought several bottles of lemonade and we drenched him with it.
  24. They have been embarrassed into reversing the decision and their statement is quite pathetic. Hopefully the mud will stick for some time.
