  1. That's pretty much why I suggested Armstrong rather than Graham to make us less one dimensional. I think Mowbray just needs to be smarter today. Dack or Armstrong up against Lowe could yield some free kicks in dangerous positions.
  2. We need some real intensity in our game today and we need to be at it from the start. Mowbray had intimated that we may sit in and play on the break judging from his comments about Bolton's style of play. If that is the case we will need to be compact, disciplined and keep our shape. If he does adopt this approach I would be tempted to play Armstrong down the middle in the role he played at Hull. He at least can get in behind and his mobility against a lumbering Bolton defence could be key.
  3. He went off injured in the pre season match at Accrington at the end of July and hasn't played since. His parents were sat behind me at Accrington and I heard his mum saying he was holding his groin again just before he came off.
  4. But he couldn't possibly have been a target could he given that he only became available so late in the window? His sudden availability must have made him the main target st the expense of other. I would have thought if Mowbray rated him so highly he would have enquired about his availability before Forest circulated his name so late in the window.
  5. I understood it as we only bid for Brereton in the last hour of the transfer window when Forest circulated his name. As it was far too late to get a deal done the pursuit carried over into the loan window. If he was a summer target why wouldn't a bid have been placed early in the window? My impression is that he was a panic buy when other targets didn't materialise.
  6. Pretty much my thoughts about the contrasting styles home and away. And how bloody long did Brereton take to tie his boot laces?
  7. Sheffield didn't do anything different in this game than they do every week. You are making it sound like they changed tactics and systems when we did to stop us playing. In every aspect of football they were better and Mowbray looked forlorn on the touchline as the realisation hit home. After Saturday we have Leeds, Swansea and West Bromwich. We'll do well to get a point from those three.
  8. He's easily licked though ?.
  9. The honeymoon period is well and truly over. The scoreline flattered us as Sheffield played around and through us for long periods. We were lethargic in and out of possession, we were taking two or three touches when one would have done and I lost count of the bad first touches almost every player had. Mowbray has been making lots of noise about the spirit and whilst it's an asset you need some quality to go with it. Sheffield had both in abundance and I don't think they'll get an easier three points. I will be delighted when we get to fifty points.
  10. Lenihan is closing in on 100 games for us which I think gives him experience. Impetuous describes him perfectly recently and hopefully the coaching staff are working on this weakness. Improving the collective is the aim and I think this could be achieved with Rodwell and Mulgrew.
  11. Lenihan has on the whole been decent but has been prone to crucial errors recently. His distribution at times leaves a lot to be desired. It won't happen in the near future as Mowbray has said Rodwell isn't fit enough yet but moving forward I think Mulgrew and Rodwell would make us better defensively and add a bit more creativity.
  12. There is absolutely no justification for such an extortionate price. I don't think there will be too much change out of £100 for those who bother going. Also factor in that many will have to take time off work. It really surprises me that clubs don't consider all the above factors when considering prices. It shouldn't surprise me though because I realised long ago that many clubs (including Rovers) see supporters as cash cows who are there to make as much as possible out of.
  13. And paying a fee for them both when they are out of contract in the summer would be crazy.
  14. He looked the player that lots of people knew was in there. I'd like to see him and Mulgrew together.
  15. Today was a good game to watch with Rovers having their almost customary slow start and then pretty much dominating play for long periods until Forest equalised. Some decent chances were created but not taken but overall the resilience we are showing will stand us in good stead. The first Forest penalty was clear I thought with Lenihan losing his player once again. Mowbray should really work him on the training ground for defensive set pieces. We should have had a penalty when Dack was impeded, it was arguably clearer than the earlier one. The equaliser from the spot was soft but the Forest player was caught by Rodwell. He made a meal of it but if you are making contact, however slight you are giving the referee a decision to make. After that we could quite easily have lost. If we could start and finish games as good as we play in the middle hour we would be top of the Championship.
  16. Is it available to buy in person today?
  17. Leeds are charging £40. If you aren't going to Bolton because of the cost surely Leeds will be too much. In the summer I recall you saying that you would pay a lot more for your season ticket and watching Rovers was more important than your job. I'm sure you wrote that you would pack your job in if you couldn't get time off to watch Rovers play at home.
  18. Last season I joined along with the people I go to games with. None of us have joined this season because of the sheer greed of the club looking to make a fiver out of us. It's not the money but the principal. I'd like to see the take up this season compared to last.
  19. The distance is irrelevant. I know lots of fans who travel by train everywhere so they can have a drink invariably in a town centre before and after the match. The rail replacement option just doesn't cut it for many.
  20. Sometimes I wonder if Mowbray lives in the football bubble despite of him making a great play of his working class background. The supporter base is largely drawn from hard working folk and money is tight and watching football is expensive. Getting bigger crowds is what we all want but there has to be an understanding from the powers that be that there are many reasons why gates haven't significantly increased this season. A price increase on season tickets is one factor and the TV deal all the clubs agreed on will have an effect on any non 3 pm Saturday kick off. it appears sometimes that Waggot lives in the bubble too.
  21. Six years and I detest him as much now as I did through the lies and corruption. Time will never diminish them feelings. It's strange how he never got work again over here pretty much proving us right about him.
  22. And the real irony for Leeds is that should they get promoted they can only charge visiting fans £30 maximum. Leeds are here in a few weeks and we are charging adults £27. I understand Rovers are bound by some EFL regulation on visitors vs home fans pricing but I would love some clubs to rebel against this and charge them what we have to pay.
  23. For lots of good supporters loyalty will only be stretched so far. I have spoken to quite a lot of Rovers fans in the last few days who aren't going and the main reason is that overpriced product that will be Bolton against Rovers. They can watch it at home or in the pub, have a few drinks and it would still be cheaper. Championship football is in danger of imploding where travelling fans are concerned. I envisage our lowest ever away support at Leeds on Boxing Day at £40 for an adult ticket. I certainly understand anybody who is boycotting the away games where greed comes first.
