Horrible people who have got their comeuppance. The feeling of Blackpool fans this morning will be one of euphoria and give them a boost. I'm feeling envious.

In all honesty at that time nobody really knew what or where a hamstring was. It's another modern football phenomenon. I recall Francis having a career threatening ruptured Achilles. I saw a picture of the scars during his rehabilitation. Nowadays it would probably be done by laser.

He was clearly struggling on Saturday but went back on after receiving treatment. I said to my brother that it was stupid to send him back on as it could make the injury worse. I don't know if it did but there were shades of Lenihan at Southend when he played on with a foot injury whilst pretty much hobbling. Unprofessional.

Manager or Players to blame?
arbitro replied to blueboy3333's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
I have supported Mowbray in the past but my patience is fast running out as we just cannot put together a consistent 70 or 80 minute spell in any one game. Even before the season started the more knowledgeable Rovers fans saw the need for an ugly, raw boned centre half who would kick and head anything. Similarly we could have done with a big striker with the same virtues. We got neither. Instead we have too many fancy Dan players who want time on the ball and far too many touches. On the whole Mowbrays signings simply haven't been good enough. I didn't like his interview when he pretty much said he is reluctant to put youngsters in but in all honesty can they be as bad as some of the current incumbents. He is playing catch up for me now and I now have doubts whether he is up to it. That said he can't be blamed for poor set plays and awful decision making by players on far too many occasions this season. I have questioned the players attitude on several occasions this season when far too many of them don't seem to want to do the hard yards and ugly side of the game. At this level it's a prerequisite and if you don't, well we've seen the evidence for ourselves. -
He did but I don't think his inexperience was the issue. This season I have seen several experienced players going for goal when team mates were better placed to score.

Them answers could have been from Kean or Coyle. To be honest I find it insulting after playing, refereeing and watching football for over 50 years that our manager comes out with banile drivel like that. He admits that the defence is not the most mobile in the world and still picks the same players and played Dack out wide on Saturday who couldn't defend to save his life. I'm rapidly running out of patience with the nonsense he is spouting.

Who could have predicted that King would have made it in the PL? Based on what he did for us nobody and I really don't recall too many tears when he left. Anybody can use the perfect science of hindsight to justify their argument. For us he just didn't do it.

I watched an excellent Sheffield derby today and was really impressed by United and the job Chris Wilder has done. A 17 year old kid called Brooks for United was truly outstanding and really puts the 'too young' myth to bed. Wednesday just couldn't handle him.

When I was working I dealt with a few different printers for labels and forms and the biggest cost was in setting the printing presses up. I always got a better price for buying larger quantities i.e. £100 for 1000 and £50 for every 1000 after that. I would expect the Rovers programmes to be the same otherwise somebody isn't doing their job properly.
-
That is fair enough Jim but if nobody complains then the club will just carry on producing an inferior product which doesn't appear to represent value for money. Maybe one for the Fans Forum to bring up. Do you know if the club make any profit on programme sales?
-
I don't buy one but has anybody complained to the club? If anyone has I would be interested to see their response.

There are some bargains to be had on the website below. http://www.bikebargains.co.uk/clothing/

That is one strange comment. Using that logic he might as well stay in the u23's for the rest of the season whilst he is scoring. Reading between the lines it's Mowbray telling us not to expect him (or any others) to be in the first team soon.
-
My point was that he has done well enough in pre season and since to earn a chance.
-
The last time I saw the first team squad numbers Nuttall didn't have one. I know they can be registered but surely this lad deserves one and as you quite rightly say some first team involvement. Antonsson was played as the lone striker on Wednesday and looked like a lost little boy. Nuttall has some physical presence and scores goals. Strange really.

I don't believe Nyambe would have weakened us at all if he had been playing at right back yesterday. He is far more comfortable in a back four and he does offer more than Caddis going forward although yesterday both full backs were quite restrained.
-
It was sarcasm.
-
Would talking more make Nyambe a better player in your view then?
-
He said next to nothing in the game. What about Sheringham and Cole? They detested each other, never spoke but formed a decent partnership. Any team has a fair mix of characters, quiet, noisy, shy, extrovert etc. McGrath fell into the quiet and shy category.
-
I honestly don't see what talking on the pitch has to do with any players ability. Probably the best player I ever came across, Paul McGrath hardly ever said a word but it didn't affect his performances. He was essentially shy and that particular characteristic was evident on the pitch. I can accept sensible criticism but not talking is largely an irrelevance.

Thanks mate.

Thanks for the updates - are you at the game? I can't find anything on the official website.
-
Surely Nuttall has done enough to at least earn a squad number. I only saw him briefly in pre season but he certainly looked like he has something about him, Big, strong, mobile and as has been proven since an eye for goal. Given the dearth of quick players in that position the answer to that question could well lie within.

I'm sure I read that they have sold 2500 1875 memberships which means (at that time) around 5500 had opted not to join. I wonder is some of these might not buy tickets for the Burnley match because they don't want to join 1875.

Could this be brought up by the Fans Forum at the next meeting? It would be nice to get the rationale behind this and as Cheston generally disregards emails he should be put on the spot.
