Winning back to back games has really eased the pressure on the Ewood cohort to make an appointment. If we win at Swansea with Lowe in charge I just get a feeling they might go with him (if he wants it) for the rest of the season. And an important factor to them might just be that he comes on the cheap.
 -
Personally I wouldn't take him. He does seem to have a propensity for Rovers like death spirals but in general he has been well backed by Gibson and ultimately come up short.
 -
He definitely is but it has to be the right job.

I got a call from a friend who is well connected at Middlesbrough and he said they are expecting an announcement today that he Carrick is gone. His replacement has been lined up and is the one who I think the majority of us would favour as our manager.

I think the style that Martin had has been diluted by Williams although I have seen them concede some poor goals this season from over playing. One of the biggest factors for them was losing Matty Crimes who really made them tick. Since he left they have won once and lost three and out of the last six games only won one. -

Playing Forshaw might just have been a masterstroke from Lowe yesterday. Whilst Buckley has done well starting Forshaw against a team who effectively tore his contract up a month ago would have been motivational I think. The simplicity of his game was a feature of the win for me yesterday and his goal the icing on his (and our) cake. If Lowe is still in charge next Saturday he certainly has selection problems (of the right kind of course). -

As Championship games go that was probably As comfortable as it gets. We were patient when we had to be particularly in the first half as we controlled the game. It was slightly frustrating at times as I thought we played sideways and backwards a bit too often as we tried to displace the Plymouth midfield and defence. We got more on the front foot in the second half and the tempo rose which Plymouth seemed to struggle with. The first goal was always going to be important and Forshaw did extremely well to hit the target. I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt and say he meant it. A few chances went begging before a really well worked second goal from Dolan which took the pressure off. We comfortably saw out the game after that as Plymouth finally decided to get forward. Credit to David Lowe again and his staff as the tactics once again contributed to the win. Yuri Ribeiro was rightly named man of the match but was run close by several others notably Dolan, Travis and Hyam. -
Twenty minutes in and the Dingles are singing No, Nay, Never for the fifth time. We absolutely do live rent free in their empty heads.

There is a huge Lancashire derby match taking place today if anybody hadn't noticed. Morecambe against Stanley is the second biggest game in the county today. I read there is another one in Lancashire too between two no mark, insignificant clubs. -
I think so too. As most people have pointed out he doesn't have a Szmodics of anything near to him. If I was a Derby supporter I would be more worried about the defence though. They were really poor and QPR took their foot off the gas at 4-0 otherwise it could have been a lot worse.
 -
I'm not particularly bothered about Eustace now as I'm not about any player or manager who leaves us. I watched the game last night as I do most Championship games on Sky and probably the most interest take from me was the look on the face of the Derby owner every time the camera panned to him. If a picture can paint a thousand words he is one worried man.

It's match day and after Wednesday night it couldn't come round quick enough. Hopefully the adrenaline rush I had at West Brom will be back today but Plymouth will be a tough nut to crack and a slightly different game plan will have to be used with us being at home. The right level of application and commitment from the players will go a long way in games like today. As ever a clean sheet for starters as I really believe we can score. -

If a guest like Dalglish is there it almost guarantees that the stooges will be there. They won't miss a chance to Lord it up. -
There was a lovely moment at the end of the game on Wednesday. A Rovers fan and his young son were shouting towards Thyrys Dolan who wanted to give his shirt to the young lad. The stewards wouldn't let the father and son down to the front so Thyrys jumped over the advertising boards and fence and came up to them. They hugged each other before a clearly emotional Dolan went back. Well done Thyrys - it's the little things that count most.

That is a really well researched article and in a nutshell shows how poorly run we really are. Thanks for posting it. -
I don't doubt there are some fans who really want Gueye to fail just to say 'told you so'. I'm am delighted to be proved wrong and say so with Gueye.
 -
Isn't that the case with the vast majority of managers?

There isn't enough hair dye in East Lancashire to keep Martin and Waggott going. 😂

In my knackered, ecstatic state last night I forgot to mention that when the players had finished their warm up they came over to the corner where we were sat to applaud us. Nothing unusual in that, they do it before every away game. Last night felt so different though. They stood there for a bit longer but the look in their and and clear focus on the job in hand was apparent. Similarly at the end of the game they stayed for longer than normal and rightly milked every drop of respect of the fans. The connection between the players and fans last night should mean so much to us all.

I felt prouder as a Rovers fan tonight than I have for a while. Proud of the players, staff and fans - the rest of the cabal can f*** right off. My worry going into the game was how the players would react to the last few tumultuous days and that fear was allayed after about fifteen minutes when we settled into the game and pretty much controlled it. That ten minute period at the start of the second half was the perfect anecdote to the bad feelings I have for those people in charge of the club. I felt it was the players too sending them a message. Every player really gave us something to be proud of and it's probably unfair to single any of them out but Hyam, Travis and Gueye were excellent tonight. In the last few minutes I saw Travis was clearly running on empty but still got in several telling challenges. He appeared to be the de facto manager tonight and led by example. I have an apology to make to Gueye in that I just didn't see a player in there. How delighted I am to be proven wrong as he was just outstanding tonight. He gave the perfect centre forward's display and was also our best defender at their set pieces. So, so proud tonight but a special word for the fans. The balance they struck between supporting the players and disparaging the owners and Waggott was perfect. Watching the players celebrating at the end gave me the distinct impression they agreed with us.
