An enjoyable match to watch and, as reflected in the scoreline defences most certainly weren't on top. Considering how young our team was they did really well. I reckon at the end we had three first year scholars and Harvey Higgins who is still at school on the pitch. Scoring in the first minute gave us real hope but Preston played their way back into the game to take a 2-1 half time lead. We started the second half brightly and went 3-2 up before they equalised. Again we took the lead but couldn't hold on and even then both teams had chances to win. Given the age of our team it was a pleasing performance but I have to mention our keeper Barrett. He is capable of brilliance and basic error making in the same game as demonstrated in this game.

I haven't read all the posts but of those I did read there was hardly anyone moaning, just some constructive criticism. The way Eustace was bollocking some players told me there were aspects of our play he wasn't happy with. -
£228 for a meal at your main rivals? Who in their right mind would pay that especially some scruff from the land that time forgot.

He did but from memory wasn't he in a more central position then? -

Pears frustrated me with his kicking on Saturday particularly when we were hanging on towards the end. One of the reasons I thought we brought Gueye on was to win a few headers and as Pears was kicking Gueye went out to the touchline clearly to win the header and get us further up the pitch. I can only remember one kick which got close to him, two went straight out of play and the others were won by Leeds players unchallenged. -
At the moment they have only got an allocation for the two middle blocks of the bottom tier as we had last season (although that was a night game) so if we sell the 1000 I'm sure more will be available. I'm pretty sure they were on sale on the day last year too. It's a difficult one really with the game being so close to Christmas, in London and £27 for an adult ticket.

There is an under 21 match tomorrow so hopefully several of the squad players get some game time. -

Having lost their last five games Hull's confidence should be at rock bottom but this is the Championship and we know what can happen. We need to be at it from the first minute and keep things nice and tight. The Hull fans will be ready to turn and if we score first they will turn on their players. I trust Eustace to come up with a winning game plan, arguably his biggest decision will be who replaces Travis and who wears the armband. Personally I would put Baker in and give Tronstad the captaincy. -
Perspective Kenny as always 😂

Two South Coast teams both beginning with B. For an 'owd fella I didn't think it was a bad effort. 😂😂

Alf bloody Wood eh. He was the one who smashed Roger Jones breaking his jaw or cheekbone if I recall correctly. He always sounded to me like a character out of the Hotspur (like Alf Tupper in the Tough of the Track).

The three big dates in the football calendar for me were opening day, Boxing Day and FA Cup third round day (providing we weren't floundering in Division 3). I can remember crowding round a transistor radio at school on the Monday after each round to listen to the draw being made live on Radio Two. Now they spin a simple draw into a thirty minute programme where inane chat and predictable questions are the order of the day.
-
It's that time of year again when the FA Cup third round draw is upon us. As a old traditionalist the FA Cup still a really important part of football and one of the highlights of recent seasons was reaching the quarter final a couple of years ago. I want a home tie primarily but if we do get drawn away I don't want it to be against a Premier League team. Either a League Two or non League team away would potentially give us a live TV match and the riches that go with it. And, more importantly for us fans an opportunity to progress. The draw is live on BBC 2 at 7 pm on Monday.

The Championship is arguably the most unpredictable league and nothing can be taken for granted. Of course the newly relegated teams should have an advantage but recently the likes of Norwich, Watford and this season Luton have dispelled that myth. I never try to look to far ahead As there are so many variables like injuries, suspensions and loss of form which have a bearing on results. After two really good performances and more importantly results in our last two games against good teams would anybody really be surprised if we lost at struggling Hull? For me the most important game is the next one and that is hopefully where Eustace's focus will be.

I was surprised to hear Eustace pretty much say we didn't have a nominated penalty taker. When it appeared that three or four players were squabbling over who is taking the penalty I thought it was a ploy to keep Meslier guessing. Eustace confirmed he doesn't mind who takes them as long As they score. -

Terrific result from another too notch team performance. I have heard Eustace talk about togetherness a lot and sometimes doubted this but the last three games have shown what a team all pulling in the same direction can do. I thought we were worth the win today and had the better of the chances and Cantwell could have had a hat trick on another day. For all their possession Leeds didn't hurt us and their best chances to score were given to them by us. Once again lots of 7's and 8's from our players but Dolan was excellent today. His aggression, propensity to work hard and good decision making was excellent and if he could get anywhere near these levels every game the sky would be the limit for him. Tronstad wasn't far behind him and at times it was like we had two Tronstad's playing - he was everywhere and was like a magnet for the ball. I was never really worried in the second half despite their possession and we headed, blocked and tackled like our lives depended on it. The only downside was Travis picking up a cheap yellow card meaning he will miss the Hull match next week. We have decent options but currently Travis is really on his game so the opportunity for another player means he will have to play well. Well done to John Eustace too. I thought our game management was first class and his substitutions and change of shape saw us over the line. Hopefully we can keep this winning run going and keep us lot happy. -

I thought Bournemouth as I have a memory of John kicking Ted McDougall all over Ewood 🤣

It was a good game to watch today and the 2-2 draw was probably fair. Rovers started really quickly and got an early goal and could quite easily have had another. West Brom played their way back into the game but were assisted by some poor defending notably from the usually reliable Davies. The two goals they got were really weak from our point of view. We started the second half in a similar manner to the first but West Brom still posed a threat with their strikers pace and power. We got the equaliser and the game was set for a really good finish but the Doherty was sent off. Rovers weren't happy about the red card but from my position it looked like Doherty had caught the West Brom player. Ironically a yard further forward and he wouldn't have been sent off but we would have conceded a penalty. Isaac Dunn was our stand out player for me and reminded me of a young Adam Wharton in certain aspects of his play. His head swivels before he has got the ball played to him which gives him a good idea what is on around him and therefore doesn't give the ball away too often.

He was as hard as nails and probably wouldn't have lasted five minutes in today's football. The centre forward certainty knew he had been in a match. I recall a screamer he scored from long distance against Bournemouth (I think). RIP.

It's on ITV 4 on Saturday mornings but not every week. I just checked and it's not on tomorrow so just look at the TV listings a day or two before.

The expectations of Tomasson and Eustace on players are different most likely due to the way they want to play. With the more expansive game Tomasson wanted to play certain players were simply not suited to it. Tronstad has found a niche position that suits him and Eustace down to a tee. And, as many have said one of the real beneficiaries of this has been Travis. -

I saw you were suggesting a new deal for Travis on another thread due to his good form. Travis himself puts a lot of his form down to playing with Tronstad. I honestly question your football knowledge sometimes with some of the nonsense you come out with.
