  1. We need someone who knows where the back of the net is first and foremost or the season will fizzle out. Can't rely on clean sheets every week.
  2. Oh OK, thanks. Sounds a better bet.
  3. I don't know anything about Asante but he strikes me as someone who'll just be at best a run of the mill Championship player for the next few seasons rather than the "difference maker" we need this. I think I'd rather try and get someone exceptional in on loan out of the two.
  4. Everyone seems unanimous on Aasgard but there's no suggestion whatsoever we're even interested I'm him is there?
  5. Are you thinking of Roverfan 99?
  6. Still left with the same basic problem though, who's going to put the ball in the net?
  7. The suggestion is that we have actually submitted an offer to Coventry for £1.75m. Whether or not anything comes of this link that would tend to indicate the approximate budget for the main signing, "the striker". Doesn't look like we'll be spending much on a wide man then.
  8. Got a bad feeling about this game, we were in better form at the time of the original fixture and can't help thinking our lethargy in going after our transfer targets will cost us dearly.
  9. Are we allowed to sign anyone from any other Club apart from Coventry?
  10. Is that the guy you thought we had a chance of signing? Lol. Just had a quick look online and it said there that Sunderland were prepared to commit to two loan deals for players with obligations to purchase costing a total of £33m if they go up. Meanwhile we've signed Adam Forshaw on a short term deal until the end of the season. It'd be quite funny if it wasn't so sad and infuriating in equal measure.
  11. I assumed you meant Carl and googled him Lol. A little older than I remembered - 55. Would seem to fit our target age range perfectly.
  12. As long as it's not "You let us have X and Y and you can have our manager".
  13. That's a shame. Not that I ever thought we were in with any sort of realistic chance.
  14. If we were serious about trying to achieve promotion either this season or the next we'd be targeting someone like Adebayo at Luton on a permanent deal.
  15. Collins 34, Bradshaw 32. Come on, surely we can do better than that, an ageing journeyman very much on the downgrade. Stop giving them ideas!
  16. Come on, no -one, absolutely no - one expects us to spend £40m, just a reasonable proportion of the monies raked in in transfer fees and sell on clauses over the last couple of years.
  17. You're probably right but for many supporters it seems the incorrect notion that they have to physically stick their hands in their pockets to match any money sent over is a valid reason for them to not send any in the first place.
  18. At most Clubs that would intensify the pressure to strengthen even more. You can spin either way: Win the next couple - "Look how well we're doing - no need to spend". Lose the next couple - "We've slipped out of realistic contention now - no point going overboard".
  19. https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/24854663.blackburn-rovers-venkys-court-case-india-delayed/ Depressing to see the LT perpetuating the myth on behalf of the Club about the owners effectively having to pay double in respect of any money sent over.
  20. But but..........according to the Fans Forum Notes 25/11 Waggott was "in the process of requesting funding for the upcoming January transfer window". Surely you're not suggesting our esteemed CEO would pull the wool over supporters' eyes?
  21. https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/24856218.blackburn-rovers-boss-john-eustace-play-off-pressure/ This doesn't sound as though Eustace is very confident about anyone coming in, seemingly expressing the hope that someone out of the current squad can step up in the second half of the season.
  22. They can now. Can we completely get away from this notion that they're somehow prevented from doing so because of the Court proceedings. They are CHOOSING not to.
  23. There was also a very good period of canny relatively low cost investment under Bowyer when his Dad Ian was allegedly involved in the scouting.
