  1. Bloody Mowbray can't wait to get Gallagher on can he. Scapegoat the 18 year old. Back to the future.
  2. Dreadful first half, playing at exhibition pace, Forest could just line up behind us and watch us play the ball sideways and backwards all day. Evans is a truly abysmal player, like having ten men.
  3. Very harsh. You can't really accuse the owners of not backing Mowbray since he's been here. Following relegation to League 1, no high earners sold, Dack and numerous signings in, Armstrong in on loan in Jan to seal the deal. 1st season back, £7m on BB, £3m on AA. Numerous other loans. No pressure to sell. 2nd season back £5m on Gallagher numerous other loans. No pressure to sell. Middle of a pandemic, Ayala will be on big money by our standards, numerous other players in, no pressure to sell. We just need Mowbray to perform a lot better than he's done since we were promoted now.
  4. Good to hear. If he slots in on the left with Dolan on the right which I'd like to see that would be harsh on Brereton who has also started well but if he's even better so be it, there shouldn't be any sentiment in football and that's where Mowbray has gone wrong over the last couple of seasons imo.
  5. Chelsea probably thought the same about Palmer. Just saying Be extremely harsh on Dolan if he has to split time on the pitch with this lad after the way he's played
  6. Hope we manage to get the Liverpool lad done in time, for some strange reason he's the one of today's signings I'm most excited about. We've gone from having a 34 year old spearheading the attack to potentially having two outstanding young talents with a combined age of 35 providing much of our threat. Much more like it.
  7. Yep, did more for us than anyone in the promotion season other than Dack.
  8. Thanks, hope he comes in if he's as good as everyone says and will be a fairly regular starter. If he doesn't get any game time, don't see the point.
  9. So......is he out of contract in the summer then? ? I know all that, but if he does particularly well presumably he'll attract a great deal of interest as a free agent and we might miss out.
  10. Sorry, I don't make a habit of watching Liverpool's Carabao Cup games or under 23 matches. Must try harder I suppose. He wasn't a name on anyone's lips yesterday though unless I missed it.........
  11. Must admit, I assumed Douglas was going to be a permanent signing. Disappointed it's a loan as if he does well we'll probably be priced out of a permanent move for him and we'll be back to square one again. Not if he helps us get promoted though.
  12. Because when transfer windows come round, no-one ever suggests we sign a particular player but as soon as we are linked with them, no matter how obscure the player is, all of a sudden everyone knows their life history, inside leg measurement and solemnly declares they are the greatest keeper/defender/midfielder/attacker ever to lace up a pair of boots and we absolutely must have them! ?
  13. Not sure, I seem to remember in the back of my mind something along those lines being suggested quite a while ago.
  14. OK, take your word for it. People seem to be having kittens at the thought of 18 year old Dolan playing too much let alone a 17 year old. If they're good enough, they're old enough in my book.
  15. Exactly. I flagged that up the other night. That's probably the crux of it, potentially you could be funding a Championship Club to replace you in the Premier League.
  16. Won't get much football here at age 17 though I wouldn't have thought.
  17. You can see the Premier League Clubs' point of view on that really. It's one thing bailing Clubs out because of enforced BCD due to the virus, it's another thing entirely if they're in difficulty due to rank bad management or if the respective owners can afford to fund them. Hasn't there been a suggestion in the past of targeted assistance based on proof of income and expenditure etc? Is that still on offer?
  18. Cheers, If he's that sort of player in terms of character, sounds like just what we need. He'll have a job disrupting the cushy atmosphere at the Ewood Park Holiday camp though. (Est 2010)
  19. Noticed yesterday that the EFL put out a joint statement yesterday rejecting the offer of £50m to L1 and L2 Clubs firstly because it wasn't enough but primarily because they would only entertain an offer which included all its members ie Championship Clubs as well. Sensible approach to take but L1 and L2 Clubs must be fairly confident of a better offer being quickly forthcoming given how desperate they appeared to be to accept the original proposals the other day.
  20. Doubt he'll be chucked in tomorrow then but you never know.
  21. Is Douglas "match fit"?
  22. Think that's a good shout on Wenger but he's probably in too cushy a job where he is now. Southgate is just a smooth talking PR man like Woy and Sven before him but again, at least the other two despite the fact they were poor with England can point to an overall CV with some success on it. It's the Brian Clough syndrome agai 40 odd years on. Don't appoint the best man for the job, just appoint someone who'll say all the right things and never upset anyone
  23. Depending on when he's back and if he comes back fit and firing straightaway. I would rather have brought in a striker on loan until January than another midfielder but hopefully Armstrong stays fit and it doesn't matter.
