  1. For me we'd be much better served firing off Cantwell and using the saving to tie down Travis.
  2. Do we think they've even realised the potential problem from an ESC standpoint? From a fan's perspective I've also wondered how long it will be before we field a side without a single English or at least British starter? I do think that if that happens it chips away at the bond or connection between players and supporters a bit.
  3. Ah it's here again, opening day of the season, 54th full season of following the Club, the nervousness, the excitement surrounding a new season, the new players, fairly new manager, the anticipation of wondering whether this season we can actually ...... (Gramophone needle scratches across the record) be "sustainable" for another season. 🤨 Anyhow with Cantwell out Id like to see us being positive with either Ohashi behind Gueye or Tyjon behind Ohashi, Kargbo starting ahead of De Neve and no sign whatsoever of Hedges anywhere. Doubt it will happen. Hope everyone going down has a good day.
  4. Don't think we'll need to wait until the end of the season beforeTravis and Tronstad depart. Not sure why he has an apparent lob on for Waggott either. Whilst there is a shift away from proven Championship experience in favour of cheaper European acquisitions at least we seem to be moving away from the previous model of expensive and ultimately pointless loans to develop other team's players. We could never get any contracts done when Waggott was here either so no change in that respect, Rothwell/Nyambe/Lenihan/Brereton etc. He was also the master of trying to squeeze the maximum possible revenue out of an ever decreasing fan base so it's unlikely things will get any worse in that respect.
  5. Whilst I don't necessarily agree with it I can understand why they might be reluctant to sanction new deals for Batth and Weimann at their respective ages. Travis is at a peak sort of age though and not to agree terms with him is lunacy. A decision that imo will cost us dearly by season end but then again so will not having a decent Dolan replacement or enough firepower etc. You can go on and on.
  6. I thought Ipswich were shocking. No shots on target before that penalty that never was. If that's handball the game's gone. One of the other Ipswich players was a good yard or two inside the area when the penalty was struck as well. No way they're amongst the favourites to go up automatically on that showing. Birmingham looked decent enough. Probably a good bet for top 6. Hopefully being pegged back in such unfortunate circumstances will have derailed their momentum a bit for when they face us.
  7. Apart from Travis I wouldn't lose any sleep about any of the others. In fact I think we'd be doing well to get shut of them.
  8. The quality hasnt been great thus far though.
  9. Szmodics missed a very acceptable chance.
  10. It's so obviously generated by AI or something it's untrue. They'd have been better off not bothering. I'd have prefered something genuine from them in their own words whether you could agree with it or not
  11. Please try and ensure the owners see the "real" FF minutes.
  12. I have to confess I have no interest whatsoever in American egg chasing. Were they particularly successful before he took over or something?
  13. Would be no loss. Been incredibly disappointing. Who'd been daft enough to take him on high wages though?
  14. Whatever. Have you even watched the series? The proof of the pudding will be in the eating won't it.
  15. Don't want to spoil it for anyone but when they lost the Vertu Cup Final to Peterborough, despite romping League 1, Wagner treated it like a death in the family and said they had to learn to win big games on the days they needed to win them. Then after subsequently clinching the League 1 title with an EFL record 111 points he was on the pitch telling the adoring fans "This won't be your best day under us - not even fucking close!" Can you imagine! Suhail would be on the pitch saying "We've been self sustaining this year. Maybe we can do the same next year as well!"
  16. Well, if you take the time to watch it, you'll realise that they acknowledge they made a mistake (a big one) in trying to get to where they wanted to go quicker. It didn't work, they rectified it relatively quickly and then some.
  17. Has anyone else been watching the documentary about Birmingham? I can't stress enough how impressive Wagner and Brady come over as. They'll leave our "We just want to be sustainable" approach so far behind in a year or two they probably might as well be Man City by then. Suhail, Madame, Balaji and the next CEO should be made to sit down and watch the series to see what proper owners look like.
  18. Well saying it probably isn't going to win you or I any popularity contests but it has to be said Im afraid. If the minutes dont reflect what's said in the meeting then the meetings become completely meaningless. They just become a private argument between those in attendance and everyone else is duped into thinking all was well.
  19. As always when he can't answer it. You should do a Paxman "WHO exactly is going to score the goals? Name names!"
  20. This expectation that the strikers and midfield are going to just miraculously double or treble their goals output from last season baffles me.
  21. These original minutes don't give a true representation of what went on at all. Whoever agreed them with the Club should be ashamed. Unsurprisingly there is no real mention of the two points I flagged up, Suhail saying the owners were solely responsible for the appointment of the CEO - he's put them under real pressure there - and him throwing them under the bus regarding the women's team by saying it was their decision. Or the "Smoking gun" that proves what we've all long suspected, his admission that the owners' goal is merely to be "sustainable". I do hope someone gives the owners the opportunity to read the "real" minutes at some point! If Fans Forums are usually like this but all we see is sanitised minutes on the official website then my apologies may be due to the likes of K Hod for for accusing the members of being too passive over the months. If that's the case though whoever is recording what's gone on should be ashamed of colluding with the Club in producing doctored or heavily censored minutes for the official website. If however this meeting was a complete departure from the norm due to the introduction of a few feistier members then many congratulations are due to them - you've finally given the forum some teeth and made it relevant for the current situation. I bet the "Who are we playing in pre season" contingent were choking on their tea and biscuits!
  22. But he's giving it the spiel about "transition periods" and how they wanted players to extend contracts etc..... none have! If the penny hasnt dropped with him yet he's either not as bright as he appears or he's simply here to collect his pay check as long as possible.
