  1. So you dont have a problem with JRC leaving the Club, who by and large didn't perform for us, but you do have a problem with Dolan leaving, who by and large did?
  2. Marvellous. That's only going to end one way. Whilst it's the Club's fault we-re in this position to start with I think we're right to hold out for the maximum we can from the deal.
  3. Why do have a problem with anyone "defending" Dolan? He hasnt done anything wrong.
  4. Whilst what happened to Jota was desperately sad I do find the decision by Liverpool to retire his number 20 shirt to be a completely unnecessary and typically over the top modern day decision. I'm sure he was a decent enough player for them but he only played 120 odd times - he's hardly Ron Yeats or Kenny or Rush is he? If the Club had retired the number of every great former player who'd graced their shirt they'd have no numbers left to give out. It would have been far more of a tribute to him to retain the number so that those who wore it in future were playing in his memory and for the number to become synonymous with him like the no. 7 shirt is with Keegan and Dalglish.
  5. But has ketchup been taken off the menu?
  6. I don't take offence at what you call Eustace per se, but why would you take any offence in the first place about him coming in for our better players if we're not willing to tie them down?
  7. Have to say when we signed/were linked with a glut of midfielders and a RB I assumed they were just cheaper replacements for Travis/Tronstad and Brittain despite some posters bragging about how much money we'd allegedly spent. I'm seeing nothing so far to change my mind.
  8. You couldn't possibly be further away from aiming your ire at the right targets.
  9. What on earth are you on about? Eustace wanted to tie those players down here!
  10. If we think this is the player for us, it's up to us to get the deal over the line.
  11. Yep. Jackson has seemingly jumped the gun and may have alerted other interested parties in the process. Only one party to blame if it doesn't go through though, the Club for not being willing to pay the going rate.
  12. There's no guarantee anyone wouldn't make a complete horlicks of running the Club, whether they be fans or not.
  13. Absolute rubbish. There were no Governance issues whatsoever attached to Jack's ownership or indeed that of his family whilst they owned us, just that the family didn't want to be lumbered with us so funding dried up which was not idea,l but entirely their prerogative, and they then ended up selling with hindsight to the wrong people. But at the time they sold, given Venky's massive wealth it probably looked a relatively safe bet. To flip it on it's head, if Jack had never owned us, we'd probably have remained in the hands of well meaning but in relative terms skint local businessmen, we'd probably have never had any success to speak of, and there's no guarantee that said local businessmen wouldn't have made a complete horlicks of running us either.
  14. It's not silly at all. It's a fact we've lost 14 goals out of the squad. One or two of the players above might theoretically catch fire in the manner you describe above but it's a lot more probable they won't and will perform in a similar manner to what they've done in the past. If I buy a ticket for Euromillions tomorrow night I might win it as well.
  15. If I'm not mistaken that starting X1 you picked scored a grand total of 20 League goals last season and that's being slightly generous by including Kargbo's 3 in Serie B. If that's a balanced X1 I'd hate to see an unbalanced one.
  16. Sorry, didn't realise all comment and opinion was banned until the end of the window. Glad to hear you have full faith in the powers that be to bring in the players we need in the positions we need them bearing in mind we're still waiting for an Adam Armstrong replacement.
  17. Where are the goals in that side? Be lucky if anyone scores 5.
  18. What does that mean for us in your opinion?
  19. One that knows where the back of the net is. Do you think we've got enough up front?
  20. If the season were to start tomorrow and no-one else were to come in or leave, the squad looks completely unbalanced. Overloaded in midfield, severe lack of firepower up front and short of options at CB. As it stands, given the glut of midfielders, difficult to think at least one of Travis or Tronstad won't be leaving.
  21. What's the point you're trying to make? At best it appears that since the Court case we're expected to wash our own face, and any transfer income is applied towards keeping the lights on. Where cash flow dictates they need to put some money in because transfer fees are only paid in installments etc, SO FAR they've sent some money over purportedly for essential running expenses only. Our so called DOF has said that our budget doesn't change no matter who is sold. Are you happy with that?.
  22. Strongly disagree there. Given the prevailing circumstances at each Club Eustace has been wildly successful in his last appointments and was brought in by Derby to keep them up. He succeeded. VI hasnt impressed in either of his last 2 permanent appointments and was brought in to keep us in the play off positions. He failed. Indeed it only took him one full game and ten minutes of the Derby game to undo a good season's work by Eustace Therefore recent evidence would tend to suggest that Eustace is very much a Coach on the up whereas VI is yesterday's man who's only ever had a good spell at one Club. Similar to Lambert/Coyle etc etc.
  23. It's getting really boring, the accusing Mercer of having another account on Twitter.
