  1. Does the same argument not apply to wearing the new home kit? Anyway, should be great. Dark yellows v Light yellows. "Come on you burnt yellows!" All we need is for the trim to be maroon or claret to cap it off. Even if it's black I can never really remember us wearing a yellow and black trimmed shirt before. When we've had a yellow shirt the trim has usually been blue and rightly so.
  2. I doubt if there's ever been so much speculation on a topic without anyone knowing any of the relevant figures involved. Of course Rovers are bound to be offering him a fair deal and it must just be down to Dolan being greedy. Same as with Rothwell/Lenihan/Nyambe/Brereton/Brittain/Travis/Tronstad/Batth/ Weimannetc. We've obviously just got very unlucky. 10 times. (Edited)
  3. So two teams in their away kit then? Brilliant! I've no idea why the FF didn't object to this in the strongest possible terms. To me it seems obvious our "prestige" home friendly should be used to showcase OUR new home kit. Sod Everton. Non controversial? Really?
  4. It wasn't the player I was disparaging as I know nothing about him. It was the fact we appeared to be wasting ours and everyone else's time with our usual bout of tyre kicking.
  5. According to the Scottish Sun, the offers have been booted out as being " nowhere near" the Club's valuation. Whoever would have thunk it?
  6. Is this not having a proper badge lark going to become a thing on the grounds of convenience and screwing even more profit out of a shirt.
  7. You wouldn't. If it was our decision to debut our new away kit against Everton I wouldn't particularly agree with it but that would be ok. We shouldn't be operating in a way solely to suit Everton though. If they have an issue with their kits, tough titty, that's their problem not ours.
  8. Ah, well that probably explains him taking his time then. After the end of the month it becomes a bit more pressing for him. So from our point of view our failure to offer him a reasonable deal means we lose a good player, possibly for nothing if he moves abroad, AND we have to pay him for an extra month for nothing? Genius!
  9. Exactly, the sort of thing Nixon does. Comes up with an unlikely story, then when nothing happens claims it's run into a problem etc. Then whatever happens, he's never wrong. He or she is learning well!
  10. Has anything this person has alleged this summer actually come off? I've lost track. Most of it seems Fantasy Island stuff.
  11. If that's right, that's absolutely horrible, reminds me more of a Burnley away kit from years gone by. Burnt yellow and claret, what possible connection does that have to us? No proper badge on this one either seemingly. They've truly outcome themselves with the shitness of the kits this year. In a major anniversary year as well.
  12. Seems to be valued at E2m on Transfermarket.com. Shouldn't be out of budget per se but if we start pissing about by lowballing the selling club like we seem to do with nearly everyone else of any value we'll probably get nowhere.
  13. Are we entitled to compensation even though we have allowed his contract to expire? Edit: There would seem to be little point for him in running down his contract if that were the case.
  14. How could Ismael not have known this was the situation when he signed up to the madhouse though?
  15. I'll take your word for it but I struggle to get my head round the concept that anyone could possibly come over worse than Waggott. Always came over like a dodgy second hand car salesman and all you ever seemed to get out of him at the meetings was either a reason why something couldn't be done or "We weren't aware of that" or "We'll look into it".
  16. This sudden new narrative about us unexpectedly and unluckily being "in transition" is absolute rubbish. It's always been claimed since VI arrived that the aim was to add more pace and power to the squad so there's nothing new there and RG also said during the car crash interviews that the number of players out of contract was an exciting opportunity to reshape the squad so again the possibility that players might not be extending their stays has been known for some time. Looks like the recruitment/retention of staff hasnt been going as well as expected and they're starting to panic a bit.
  17. In the comedy section of the LT Jackson has written about how we've learnt how much we'll need to pay to land our CB "target" Kapauldi. Apparently his Clubs will consider bids from Clubs offering E5m (Ā£4.1m) What have we offered - about one third of that? Lol.
  18. On that basis, no-one would ever get involved with a football club or indeed any sort of business. "Nah, let's not bother. More trouble than it's worth".
  19. Or the opposition constantly running in behind him. Neither do we.
  20. I dont think they WANT to go down to League 1, there's absolutely no upside to be had either in terms of selling players or TV revenue. However someone has seemingly convinced them they can survive in the Championship by shedding all the high cost players, and take a moneyball approach to the Lower Leagues in Europe, sell anyone who does well, no need to reinvest any sale proceeds, just rinse and repeat. I doubt it will last long, if it does, we won't.
  21. There's been more in the LT this summer about where former players have been ending up than about our actual activity which speaks volumes.
  22. They must think we're as thick as mince. They just want the cheapest possible options they think they can get away with in the squad - in this case unproven youngsters. If (hypothetically) established 27-28 year olds were cheaper than youngsters in terms of wages, then the narrative would be all about needing Championship experience. And we'd be looking to fill the squad with those sorts of players. This is what worries me about VI. I dont think he is thick as mince and I dont see how he can possibly believe this will work.
  23. Originally, they paid the Walkers a total of £24m if I recall correctly plus taking on the external Bank overdraft of c£15m at the time. They're never getting any more than that unless we get promoted. The £200m or whatever it is is gone. The trick is finding someone who thinks they can turn us round and is willing to pay them something akin to what they paid for us with the remainder of the debt written off
  24. Technically, (as with Jack) aren't the amounts that have been run up long term loans to the owners with no realistic expectation they'll ever be repaid? Unless of course we got promoted and stayed there for a number of years. Edit: Wilesden beat me to it.
