  1. I didn't get one, but a few other fans definitely did - bottom right of the Blackburn End, around row 3. Massive 'Pasha Out'.
  2. Good effort with the banner from the lads who sorted that today. I was a few rows directly behind - actually heard one or two around me asking 'why are they doing that...?' πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ
  3. Just got home, thought it was 2 poor sides today - but we should have won that. Couple of good chances after Cantwell's very well taken goal. Thought we defended well enough to restrict them to long shots, until we made the changes. Couldn't say we missed Travis at all today, Tavares offers at least what LT did in terms of ability. Toth is levels above Pears and I thought Hyam had a good game. It was even one of Hedges' better games for us also. But we absolutely need reinforcements at the top end, it goes without saying. If not, it's going to be a long season. Edit: just to add on B'ham. For the numbers they brought, their fans were pretty shit. And I'm sure the irony of Birmingham City chanting 'who the fucking hell are you' to Blackburn Rovers was lost on them.
  4. I agree, I liked the look of him - hadn't seen as much from him defensively, but I'm positive he'd be a better option than KM at right back.
  5. At the kit launch thing recently, VI made a point of saying that Montgomery had impressed in training with his attitude and abiity to take on board his tactical instructions. By that same token, you'd assume that Duru has done neither of those things? Which is a shame, as he's looked promising in the glimpses we've seen him.
  6. I agree it's standard manager speak - JE was a master of this. Say a lot without saying anything. I genuinely prefer honesty, or at least more than just waffle. Why I liked JDT's interviews also.
  7. Yeah, we are literally his work experience. Nothing more and the consequences of his inexperience and incompetence is something he'll walk away from, at some point.
  8. We didn't play poorly at WBA and with Cantwell to come back in - maybe Tavares replacing Travis - I don't see any reason why we shouldn't beat a newly promoted team from League 1. 2-0 Rovers.
  9. I was having the same thought - they have more Rovers players than Rovers do at this stage.
  10. Just back now, initial thoughts: * Felt for Michalski in the first 5 minutes, but he did recover and did ok for the rest of the game. * Montgomery was honestly the worst single player performance I've seen in person for...well, as long as I can remember. * Tavares grew into the game * Really like Miller, I think he'll actually be a good signing for us * Pickering was solid, as was Wharton * Tyjon has talent, but too lightweight / Gueye has the physique, but little talent * Cantwell is levels above the rest of the squad, even in a brief cameo Good finish from De Neve, but we just didn't do enough tonight.
  11. To be fair, only Pears could go and get a hair transplant and even fuck that up...
  12. It's been that long since I bought a physical ticket, I genuinely forgot that they exist - it's just more convenient (for me) to buy online and have the electronic ticket on my phone. Anyway, I'm hopeful of an entertaining game tonight, seeing players like Kargbo and Gueye. Would be nice to see Michalski and Tyjon in particular, being probably the 2 highest rated kids from the Academy (in the first team squad). Looking at the online ticket thing earlier, the JW looked fairly decent in terms of sales, as of about 4pm tonight.
  13. Half of poor quality football. Not convinced by Toth today - I've liked him so far and he's streets ahead of Calamity, but his decision making and distribution have been dodgy so far. Good save though to keep it at 0-1. Sean Mc has looked decent, as has the RB whose name sounds like a Harry Potter spell. Hedges is criminally poor though, isn't he? He's made a couple of good runs off the ball, to give Ryan Abracadabra some space down the right. But, on the ball, he's horrific and very wasteful. O'Hashi is doing the best he can, but needs support. Also should have been a pen at the end of the half.
  14. The funniest part of all these ex-Rovers joining Eustace is, once he fucks off the moment another club shows the slightest bit of interest in him, they'll all be stuck at a club like Derby. Unless his entire managerial career plan is to just copy & paste the same squad of players at every job he lands.
  15. It's actually mental how such a grand and historic club - with fantastic infrastructure and potential - is being overseen by absolute novices, chancers and charlatans.
  16. Thanks Glen. SS comes across as an arrogant chap, who quite possibly realises that his gravy train has run its course. It's evident that he is - and has been - the blocker and/or problem at this club for far too long.
  17. This is my feeling on Travis. But I did feel the same way when Lenihan left and we managed fine. In fact, we probably overlooked his flaws more when he was with us; suspect that'll be the case with Travis.
  18. I can't find any legal reason not to release the minutes - only if the content was untrue, could they pursue potential legal action?
  19. VI will have us organised, but a few new cogs still fitting into the machine. A draw would be a good results on the first day, but I'll go with a 1-0 Rovers win. Goal from a set piece halfway into the 2nd half, then backs to the wall defending to see the game out.
  20. I would suggest the best way to describe him - based on the majority of his performances for us - would be 'a giant number 2'.
  21. The problem with offloading Pears and Buckley is that you need a buyer, to be able to sell.
  22. To be fair, James is a really good - and highly qualified coach. I've worked with him briefly and know some of the work he's done at clubs like Accy Stanley. Good appointment, in my opinion.
  23. Only been watching since HT, but Kargbo has been excellent. If he stays fit this season, he could be massive for us. And then Derby next season.
  24. Interestingly, that was also VI's opinion of both them and Birmingham this season (when asked how he thinks they'll fare, at that kit launch thing the other week). And I agree with him; how many times have we seen the likes of Stoke or Hull spend a relative fortune, only to struggle at the wrong end of the table, as the side just hasn't clicked / the signings turned out to be dogshit?
