  1. Not a legal appeal like last time to my knowledge so won't incur the same cost. Plus we brought in 18.5m on deadline day without any transfer fees out!
  2. It's one thing messing up the signing. It's another being classless about it. In the statement today and the previous one from the club, they do not apologise to the player, Orlando, the representatives of both and to us fans. Manners cost nothing (which you'd think would be ideal for our club at the moment) but they seemingly can't afford to use them. Rotten from the top.
  3. Perhaps they meant the deluxe upgraded coach we leased. Going to a mini van to cut costs.
  4. Perhaps we can plead stupidity and show everything was in place. "How incompetent must someone be to make similar mistakes twice in 12 months Mr EFL? Exactly, we have the most dimwitted imbecile operating the system. Of course everything was in place, you can see that. It's just our staff couldn't see the difference between save and submit". "You're right, it's so laughably poor that this person needs assessing. Fair enough. See you again in 12 months, we'll move the deadline for Rovers alone an hour earlier next time so it's actually submitted by the point everyone else does"
  5. Almost everyone seems in agreement that Waggott had this meeting to take the heat off himself. We've now got a lot of slagging off of players and some slagging off of other fans. If this is indicative of how the wider fan base reacts, Waggott gets what he wanted. Everyone would do well to keep sight of where the main problems are.
  6. Purely speculating aloud...the thing that can't yet be mentioned - possibly McGuire related or the shit show around transfers? Would have thought it would be brought up.
  7. The context J*B has given about half time talks is crucial. Having around 10000 people booing you can't be nice, bad enough for the experienced players but understandable how this could knock the youngsters. I'm not saying fans shouldn't boo, they have the right to express themselves, but the comments saying the players aren't focused on improving in the second half - you can't when half of the team have been shaken by the reaction.
  8. No room for sentiment but would have been nice for him to be in place for the fa cup game v Newcastle
  9. So the posts by Bayes and Jackson are technically true. Still here at this time. Tomorrow could be F**ked Thursday, where we learn the striker loan appeal is rejected, JDT goes and as things come in threes....Kean is put in charge on a short term contract. Until 2034.
  10. Get Alan Bates in to have a look at it and our records. He'll unearth that we should have had Lewandowski all along.
  11. Those saying the transfer of McGuire was never going to go through and blaming GB - one question. Why, particularly after last year, would he go to the effort of agreeing a permanent transfer, flying the player and his representative over, then agreeing a new loan deal - all while knowing it will never go through? In addition to the wasted time and energy, his reputation as well as the club's will be shot to pieces. If someone didn't intend for the transfer to go through I doubt it would be GB. Elsewhere in the club or ownership? Who knows.
  12. Was the error last year actually detailed? Similar sort of thing but I don't recall the exact issue having been made public.
  13. No defence to the original error with Brierley, but the second part is slightly different to my understanding. I think we left the same offer in place and pulled it when it became clear that Brentford were offering more.
  14. No idea but it's appalling. The club needs to make a public apology to him, his representatives and to the fans. And they need to explain what has happened, particularly in view of last year.
  15. I don't necessarily disagree but playing devil's advocate....Duncan McGuire?!
  16. https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/24097585.blackburn-pulled-permanent-transfer-mcguire/ Fits the rumour on deadline day. Can't say the LET are not publishing negative Rovers stories. Whilst this raises questions against the board it still doesn't explain the error with the loan.
  17. I think I've also heard this. But there'd also be the need to have documents physically signed, scanned and sent, unless they accept digital signature?
  18. A bit more meat to the bone. Not a timing issue per se, but not all documents submitted. Perhaps something different when dealing with MLS? But still not an excuse, as people are being paid to know and do these things.

  20. As you allude the additional crowd would increase match day cost. But it would also likely increase income in other ways - hospitality, merchandise, even likely sponsorship. More eyes on logos means you can charge more for shirt supplier, main sponsor, stadium sponsors etc. lots of variables to it though and you say, wouldn't likely eradicate the £20m deficit. Could impact results with a bigger crowd.
