  1. You've lost your bet
  2. How nice to see Ewood full to capacity again and having been given a clean up! I gave up on seeing our home in the game and stopped playing a couple of years ago. They've done a decent job of creating the digital version.
  3. ST pricing will always be difficult to balance. If as noted in the minutes we were the only club in the league to reduce pricing then clearly slashing prices is a punt none of the 24 were willing/needed to take. It's been discussed loads before but if we halved the price would we really double attendance? No guarantee. Yes income would increase for other match day revenue but so does extra cost such as security/staffing. A bigger crowd also doesn't necessarily result in better results - Bolton and Bradford didn't get promoted despite home support likely amongst the best within their leagues.
  4. It would be awful man management to drop Pears at the moment. He's, dare I say it, in form. You don't drop any in form player. Rest them for a cup tie, sure, but not put someone else in their place for an important game.
  5. Let's appeal Bucko's red card now, highlighting the inconsistency. Wasn't that Boro game the season we finished 7th on goal difference? Christ if that red card cost us a point/2 more....!
  6. Anyone remember Bucko's pathetic red card for bouncing the ball off the opposition player? No VAR intervention and he wasn't booked, wonder if there'll be a retrospective red? Probably not. https://x.com/ManCity/status/1837965092102852659
  7. Before the game would have taken a point. More disappointing the lack of chances created especially when a man up. On the flip side, could see us losing that in the last couple of seasons. Getting a point when not playing well is a step in the right direction and it's back to back clean sheets.
  8. I don't disagree he's had a poor half. He was a post width away from being a hero again though. Fine lines. I'd give him 10 mins or so to see if he can have a more positive impact.
  9. Something thrown at whiteman as he was taking the corner, a lighter maybe
  10. A week ago he was getting praised and assisted the second
  11. That'll be another fine heading our way due to moronic followers in the stands
  12. I'm sure we did this during the Lonsdale era and it was beyond awful, worse than it is now. The club shop was, to all intents and purposes, a crap Sports Direct branch.
  13. Ohashi, Gueye, Dolan, Siggy, JRC, Hedges, Weimann. No I'm not just listing our scorers but it is the point - hopefully 3 or 4 can hit 10+ goals this season and we're not reliant on one source.
  14. Gambling on promotion. One thing I did notice is they've followed the Chelsea model - Stansfield given a 7 year contract! That's bonkers especially in league 1. I noted some comments yesterday about 3 year contracts seeming short - there's a balancing act. If the player doesn't work out - Leo for example - can be harder to shift them and you're left covering their wages for years to come. I imagine a fair few at Chelsea will be content to sit it out.
  15. Some humble pie to be eaten on this board with the Cantwell announcement
  16. llI'm not saying I agree with how it's being done, but the Vs are £200m down. The £40m we've received in the last 12 or so months, firstly isn't received in one go. Similarly, any transfer fees we pay aren't in one go. However, funds need to be in the bank account for all the overheads which need paying monthly. So even if we've £20m sat in a bank account, that's what we're told is needed to run the club for 12 months. Of course the situation with Vs sending funds over is relevant and has been covered in countless posts. But until that money is received, we're reliant on what we have in the account.
  17. Teams have been sanctioned for fielding ineligible players before. We need the shirt to be held aloft, an appearance in the first team and a cooling off period of 2 weeks to ensure a player has been correctly signed and registered
  18. 8 - attacking midfielder - Gascoigne. 10 - forward who plays off the out and out striker - Sherringham. However this was more in the 442 days.
  19. Slightly differs to the quote from the Rovers feed on X: "It's important that we keep building on the fantastic group that we've got already. I think we're close but until I hear anything I can't say anything else. I know the club are working very hard to bring in some good players."
  20. I'm not sure the general consensus is that it was directly the Vs who intervened in these not going through? McGuire - someone didn't press send on the forms. That wouldn't be a Venky. O'Brien - paperwork not submitted in time, partly due to the FA asking for details of a wage reduction should we end up in League 2, which wouldn't have been possible based on the contract length proposed. But ultimately this would also not be something the Vs directly do.
