  1. Gueye was lucky not to give away a pen at the end but glad to see another reasonably good performance. Maybe he shouldn't have been written off by some so quickly. I think the team have taken time to adapt to him too - it was noticeable we tend to put in low crosses in open play and clearly he's more threatening attacking the ball with his head than his feet
  2. Kargbo a done deal according to Nixon
  3. You didn't specify the currency
  4. If the court has decided they can't send funds at all, surely there would be a court order?
  5. Whilst you are correct about his record, neither did Armstrong, BBD or Szmodics. The last time we signed a striker with a proven scoring record I think was Rhodes? And we're not spending anything like that fee these days
  6. BBD has confirmed it on his social
  7. I hope you're either baiting or never actually watched him play. How good he was is debatable but to write him off as shit? You don't become a main stay in a dominant Man U team and win 80 England caps if you're shit.
  8. Unless Sanderson has experience of playing well I'm midfield, those suggesting it may want to watch what happened to Rio Ferdinand when it was tried. Hint - David Bentley scored a hat trick.
  9. That was poor. Post match from Eustace will inevitably be, and rightly so, that we need quality at the attacking end.
  10. If we'd have gone up you'd have thought he'd have had a substantial bonus built into his contract, along with wage increase. It would also have improved his ability to negotiate elsewhere by having another promotion on his CV. The argument it was financially better for him for us to stay in the second tier never made sense.
  11. Their tenure has been nothing short of disastrous but what's the monetary debt, £150m? Can't say they've never invested it just hasn't been, on the whole, used well.
  12. I'm sure Roy Keane has said similar regarding the Utd dressing room he captained. Yeah everyone knows of Fergie's hairdryer but once he had earned the respect of the club, it was the players who carried those standards day to day.
  13. I'd also argue, and this is not to downplay his record and standing for the club, that Garner wasn't top class as his goals for Rovers were largely if not all outside of the top division. Apologies if this isn't correct.
  14. Tyjon is 16, I don't think you can even loan out players of that age and rightly so.
  15. Sky sports reported it last night
  16. If Sanderson and Forshaw come in as low cost cover AND we land decent quality attackers, then fair enough. If they're all that comes in, then we'll slide down the table. Goes to show with Park gone, so are the quality of the leaks from the club.
  17. Eustace wants 2/3 to come in and improve the team. I don't think we'll go for anyone who hasn't been playing/training with a club and who would need a month or two to get up to fitness. They'd have to be exceptional at this level to convince us to take a punt that they'd be contributing in cameo sub appearances until then.
  18. New walk out song: D generation X. Song after a win: Sexy Boy. Branthwaite was ahead of his time, tried sweet chin music at Boro.
  19. He scored 11 for a relegated side last season, none of which were penalties. It might be they created loads of chances and he should have scored many more, but it seems unlikely he'd have carried on being picked if that was the case.
  20. Has anyone seen a breakdown of Gueye's goal types from past seasons? I'd be amazed if they didn't include a fair number resulting from crosses. I'm not saying he'd be leading goal scorer if we put it in the mixer at every opportunity but we clearly don't play a style that suits his characteristics. At least if we bring him on when leading he can help out with the inevitable barrage into our box in the final 10/15 mins.
  21. Pickering marked his 300th league appearance with his first run in behind a defence
  22. Duffer for replacement if/when Eustace goes. Seemingly worked a miracle in the Irish league.
  23. It's a first world problem but surely the club realise it's not a good look. Can't be that hard for someone to bring in a sandwich platter, a few sausages rolls and a quiche.
  24. One of the reporters who covered the Swans game at the weekend made a comment on how Ewood Park is the only ground in the top 2 divisions where there's no food provided for the press - and even in league 2 you get biscuits! Not a huge thing in the scheme of things but a bit embarrassing and an indicator of how far the cost cutting has gone.
