  1. Or a dream (read nightmare) team of outstanding candidates, Coyle and Kean.
  2. Wouldn't be surprised if Venkys dont have a clue what is going on with the manager (which would be indicative of how little interest they have in the club). Suhail will tell them he's brought in about £750k, or whatever the figure is, and has spent a fraction. Venkys will be delighted as it's another sign of the club being self sufficient, perhaps he pockets a percentage of the saving. Waggott goes along with it, getting most of the flack, in trade for the cushty pay. Let's move on. Who's realistically available, affordable and naive/desperate enough for us to bring in?
  3. "John expressed a desire to be closer to his family and to join Derby due to his long-standing connection to the club." Fully expect this to be the sort of spin from Rovers, should Eustace go. Hopefully he doesn't though and the drop in odds is purely due to punters jumping on the bandwagon. It happened with Xabi Alonso and Liverpool.
  4. Rovers X account just posted
  5. Apart from the keeper's wages would have been low and the transfer fee hardly anything. More likely it was to free up a squad space.
  6. If Dennis was on the cards at lunchtime no wonder Eustace was smirking when asked in the presser. Bit of a coup for us, if we get this through.
  7. Could be asked at the fans forum. "How do you explain to fans recouping £30-40m in transfer fees and spending perhaps 10% of that, at the absolute most?
  8. Speaking of Mowbray, and apologies this is completely off topic, I read Utd played Mainoo has a false 9 yesterday. Memories of Bradley Johnson doing the same...
  9. Only came back from injury this weekend apparently
  10. Not sure of accuracy but by comparison, Scarlett at spurs is apparently on £12k a week. This is change to established prem clubs. https://salarysport.com/football/player/dane-scarlett/
  11. Nixon has responded to me saying owing to how the day has gone, a lot of pressure on landing Danns. If you believe him, it's not looking good for the last 24 hours of the window.
  12. Ah, the Brazilian Denis Irwin, never gives the ball away. The golden age of signings with the Scottish Rooney and a young Batistuta.
  13. Or arguably is it the team and Eustace are putting other teams to shame, especially in view of Waggott et al?
  14. So where do you draw the line, or does promotion trump decency? If we could sign a Greenwood or a Goodwillie, and it guaranteed promotion, would you be fine with that?
  15. We've a first team squad of circa 25 men. A youth squad. A women's squad. And then all the staff who support them and others around the club. You think none of them are gay or bi? Statistically there will be, and they'll have friends around the club. Is it worth signing someone who offends that group, and the impact that could have on performance and results?
  16. Absolutely. Even Tronstad had a slow start and I'm not sure Brittain had really impressed anyone in his first season. Further back - MGP got taken out of the first team squad for half a season before becoming a cult hero. Of course everyone would love signings to hit the ground running but surely it does nobody any good to dismiss them so quickly.
  17. Gueye was lucky not to give away a pen at the end but glad to see another reasonably good performance. Maybe he shouldn't have been written off by some so quickly. I think the team have taken time to adapt to him too - it was noticeable we tend to put in low crosses in open play and clearly he's more threatening attacking the ball with his head than his feet
  18. Kargbo a done deal according to Nixon
  19. You didn't specify the currency
  20. If the court has decided they can't send funds at all, surely there would be a court order?
  21. Whilst you are correct about his record, neither did Armstrong, BBD or Szmodics. The last time we signed a striker with a proven scoring record I think was Rhodes? And we're not spending anything like that fee these days
  22. BBD has confirmed it on his social
