  1. No room for sentiment but would have been nice for him to be in place for the fa cup game v Newcastle
  2. So the posts by Bayes and Jackson are technically true. Still here at this time. Tomorrow could be F**ked Thursday, where we learn the striker loan appeal is rejected, JDT goes and as things come in threes....Kean is put in charge on a short term contract. Until 2034.
  3. Get Alan Bates in to have a look at it and our records. He'll unearth that we should have had Lewandowski all along.
  4. Those saying the transfer of McGuire was never going to go through and blaming GB - one question. Why, particularly after last year, would he go to the effort of agreeing a permanent transfer, flying the player and his representative over, then agreeing a new loan deal - all while knowing it will never go through? In addition to the wasted time and energy, his reputation as well as the club's will be shot to pieces. If someone didn't intend for the transfer to go through I doubt it would be GB. Elsewhere in the club or ownership? Who knows.
  5. Was the error last year actually detailed? Similar sort of thing but I don't recall the exact issue having been made public.
  6. No defence to the original error with Brierley, but the second part is slightly different to my understanding. I think we left the same offer in place and pulled it when it became clear that Brentford were offering more.
  7. No idea but it's appalling. The club needs to make a public apology to him, his representatives and to the fans. And they need to explain what has happened, particularly in view of last year.
  8. I don't necessarily disagree but playing devil's advocate....Duncan McGuire?!
  9. https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/24097585.blackburn-pulled-permanent-transfer-mcguire/ Fits the rumour on deadline day. Can't say the LET are not publishing negative Rovers stories. Whilst this raises questions against the board it still doesn't explain the error with the loan.
  10. I think I've also heard this. But there'd also be the need to have documents physically signed, scanned and sent, unless they accept digital signature?
  11. A bit more meat to the bone. Not a timing issue per se, but not all documents submitted. Perhaps something different when dealing with MLS? But still not an excuse, as people are being paid to know and do these things.

  13. As you allude the additional crowd would increase match day cost. But it would also likely increase income in other ways - hospitality, merchandise, even likely sponsorship. More eyes on logos means you can charge more for shirt supplier, main sponsor, stadium sponsors etc. lots of variables to it though and you say, wouldn't likely eradicate the £20m deficit. Could impact results with a bigger crowd.
  14. Don't blame him if he has, can you say where this has come from?
  15. 2 reasons he could still be interested in joining us if this falls through. 1 - it genuinely isn't our fault this time, for example if Orlando didn't do something. Yep, more likely it was us. 2 - the desperation to try and make it in England, which includes if we offer him/Orlando the best terms.
  16. I agree. But there will be a large number of Blackburn fans who range from casually following the club and looking for results to those who wait for club or local news articles to pop up. They won't necessarily know things which have taken place. By saying they support Venkys therefore they don't support Rovers, it creates a division that wouldn't likely make them want to look into what has happened or not believe it.
  17. Not everyone sees everything in such a binary manner. By making it so divisive, you're potentially alienating people who either aren't aware of what you are or people who could join your view. I would love Venkys to leave but on the provision we don't end up with someone worse and there's been a fair few examples of them throughout football. I also don't accept administration as being a necessary step - nevermind what happens to the club's league position, I'd be concerned for employees suddenly out of work. The academy would likely go, which along with the stadium, are jack's remaining legacy.
  18. For all the flack Elliot Jackson receives he's pretty on the money with today's article https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/24095815.blackburn-rovers-club-crisis-off-pitch/
  19. But we let Ennis go, and that was only confirmed later on when we believed McGuire was completed, along with Vale. Another attacker would have been needed to let Leonard go out.
  20. Even if the appeal is successful I'm more bothered about McGuire's frame of mind. Flies halfway around the world to find the situation has changed, left in limbo trying to sort something, back to us...and now this. At 22 he's still only a young adult. Having an ambition seemingly taken away, back in place and if it's taken away again... I'd be distraught if that was my kid. Either way the club needs to do everything possible to look after him.
  21. What do you expect GB to do? Sign Mbappe and De Gea and Bellingham? Gets told he has to generate transfer funds to spend and then it turns out those funds have to be used largely for running costs. Wage budget gets slashed too, so harder to attract the better free agents. Even those he may be able to sign (Baath) get vetoed from above. Both are working with their hands and feet tied behind them. Easy to say quit in protest but some people need a livelihood or have integrity when they've signed up to a job. It's those around them and above them that could do with he same.
