  1. Mowbray on No Tippy Tappy. Lots of Rovers covered - budgets, Suhail, transfers... Some won't like what they hear. He seems a principled man in an unprincipled industry. ke
  2. TBF, I fully expect Derby fans to react how some of our fans did when Mowbery was signing players from his old club 'use more imagination' 'jobs for the boys' etc. Unless you're signing genuinely great players relative to the clubs position, which none which have gone to Derby are, there's nearly always a greater level of scepticism of the signing.
  3. Chuopo-Moting was awful and somehow played for PSG and Bayern. He had a genuine contender for worse miss of all time for PSG.
  4. https://www.rovers.co.uk/news/2025/august/20/mafoumbi-departs/ Departure confirmed. Would be typical of this regime to now not sign a player, let alone one who needs the ESC
  5. Jackson has said VI said no comment to all Travis questions - but he apologised for doing so. This has got JDT repeat all over it.
  6. As much as many of us would like to think we'd take the moral high ground, for him it's his livelihood to support his family. I doubt his time at the LT and LancsLive has provided such a financial build up that he can tell them to sling it and abandon his job.
  7. His through balls were promising. But he was nowhere for their first goal - I think he even looked towards the free man, but stayed still. Hedges at least has defensive discipline and work rate. Would it have stopped that first goal? Who knows, but Axel was asleep for it.
  8. Take away the goal, de neve did nothing. Seemed reluctant to try and impress himself on the game. Axel is worryingly keen to make a late tackle but also not to track runners. We can't afford to carry a player who won't do defensive duties. On the plus side he played some decent through balls, but then stopped.
  9. Hey, we're only 3 points off being joint top of the league. How's this for spin?
  10. If only Derby would take Suhail as well. Maybe Rudy can make it a condition of selling Travis to them.
  11. Henriksson and Montgomery are the worst right side we've had in some time. Montgomery clearly isn't ready for this level. In fairness to Henriksson he's threaded some decent passes when he's come central. Tavares looking decent dictating tempo. It's telling he and Miller have the confidence to play at this level, whereas others look far too tentative.
  12. Whilst I see your point it's not necessarily true. The Swedish league runs April to October, Henriksson if anything should be match fit, if not up to the pace of the league. Ohashi arguably hit the ground running due to the Japanese League being mid-season.
  13. New squad numbers announced. Notably 11 is still available.
  14. Ah, so close yet so far. I loved JDT's response when he was asked what he'd have done in that position - "scored"
  15. I suspect all those who left would have wanted considerably more than the contracts we have given to the new signings.
  16. You've been keeping hold of this since Miller was linked, haven't you. Well played.
  17. The outgoing business isn't in our control. Unless you get a bid you're willing to accept, what else are you supposed to do? Tout the player around and you invariably reduce the bids as they know you want to get rid. Buying teams also know you've more chance of a lower bid being accepted later on if the team wants or needs to get rid.
  18. Seems to be fairly quick, a willing runner. Got himself on the edge of the 6 yard box for the goal v Everton, not something Hedges does. He seems to prefer being on the edge of the area.
  19. You underestimate the profile provided by their owners and subsequent Netflix series. It's enabled them a nationally known sponsor and the ability the tour the USA and Australia for friendlies. The global profile might not be for their football history but they genuinely are known across the world.
  20. They think Ohashi, Gueye, Tyjon and Leonard are sufficient for one position? Questions on their quality but sign a striker and it sends the message to Tyjon that a pathway to the first team isn't as close as they may have suggested to him
  21. And to think there's a generation or 2 who have no recollection that Barcelona did actually show up. We won 3-2, Sparky scoring the winner (I think) against a side which contained Cocu, Overmars, Puyol and Xavi. Good times.
  22. Correct we don't have to sell. But then everyone complains about players leaving on a free.
  23. Not sure this was the case. I can't see how, if we were saving say £50k a week (which may be an over-estimate) once those players left, we suddenly have the funds for their down payments, agent's fees, their wages and signing on fees.
  24. The big difference here is Rovers have not made any comment relating to this player. From the club's perspective, I'm not sure they've even acknowledged any transfer activity relating to him - therefore there's no PR benefit/own goal. I'd be inclined to agree with you had they done the promo, announced the signing etc. however, to me, it's not unreasonable for any club to reconsider a signing should they be concerned with the medical outcome. As others have highlighted, it's happened with other players, Fekir probably the highest profile in recent years. From what I recall after the Liverpool transfer fell through, he didn't have any major injuries. But a club can reasonably not want to take the risk.
