  1. Ah, so close yet so far. I loved JDT's response when he was asked what he'd have done in that position - "scored"
  2. I suspect all those who left would have wanted considerably more than the contracts we have given to the new signings.
  3. You've been keeping hold of this since Miller was linked, haven't you. Well played.
  4. The outgoing business isn't in our control. Unless you get a bid you're willing to accept, what else are you supposed to do? Tout the player around and you invariably reduce the bids as they know you want to get rid. Buying teams also know you've more chance of a lower bid being accepted later on if the team wants or needs to get rid.
  5. Seems to be fairly quick, a willing runner. Got himself on the edge of the 6 yard box for the goal v Everton, not something Hedges does. He seems to prefer being on the edge of the area.
  6. You underestimate the profile provided by their owners and subsequent Netflix series. It's enabled them a nationally known sponsor and the ability the tour the USA and Australia for friendlies. The global profile might not be for their football history but they genuinely are known across the world.
  7. They think Ohashi, Gueye, Tyjon and Leonard are sufficient for one position? Questions on their quality but sign a striker and it sends the message to Tyjon that a pathway to the first team isn't as close as they may have suggested to him
  8. And to think there's a generation or 2 who have no recollection that Barcelona did actually show up. We won 3-2, Sparky scoring the winner (I think) against a side which contained Cocu, Overmars, Puyol and Xavi. Good times.
  9. Correct we don't have to sell. But then everyone complains about players leaving on a free.
  10. Not sure this was the case. I can't see how, if we were saving say Β£50k a week (which may be an over-estimate) once those players left, we suddenly have the funds for their down payments, agent's fees, their wages and signing on fees.
  11. The big difference here is Rovers have not made any comment relating to this player. From the club's perspective, I'm not sure they've even acknowledged any transfer activity relating to him - therefore there's no PR benefit/own goal. I'd be inclined to agree with you had they done the promo, announced the signing etc. however, to me, it's not unreasonable for any club to reconsider a signing should they be concerned with the medical outcome. As others have highlighted, it's happened with other players, Fekir probably the highest profile in recent years. From what I recall after the Liverpool transfer fell through, he didn't have any major injuries. But a club can reasonably not want to take the risk.
  12. I know some believe there's some sort of conspiracies going on with transfers but... Agree a price with the club, presumably, to get permission to discuss terms. Agree terms, or close enough, and incur the cost of flying him and his representative(s) over, and accomodation. Carry out the medical, just to apparently make up a reason not to sign him. And it's not a world beater, it's a guy 99% of Blackburn fans had never heard of, before we were linked to him. Makes no sense. People claiming the medical issue is fabricated - a player just went through an international tournament playing every game with a fractured tibia. There's ways to manage pain, or it may not even cause it, but it doesn't mean the issue isn't there.
  13. Ohashi, Cantwell, odd ones from Trav, Tron, hedges, de neve, Wharton etc. nicking one off goals we have players capable of, it's when you need 2/3 that things really become a concern. there's a lack of depth to the attacking 4 positions. Gueye and to a lesser extent Kargbo aside, we don't have senior options to rotate/cover.
  14. It depends on your full back. Brittain's willingness and ability to get to the byline, overlapping the winger, means a left footed to cut in offers the option of shooting or a inswinging cross. Both of our LBs don't have the same engine for getting forward so it makes sense to have a direct winger to get to the byline to cross.
  15. Members of a certain vintage will remember being stung by Martin Dahlin, who we did sign, and had a pre-existing issue which ended up as a bigger matter when playing for us. Given our limited finances, can't blame the club for being very cautious with the approach to Baradji
  16. Until you have a striker hitting 20+ a season, you're always on the look out for a better striker.
  17. Towards the end of last season there were a couple of goals scored from him winning the ball back. But, it doesn't count as an assist and it isn't a goal, so people look passed it. I'm not saying he's great, but not as bad as some make out, like never doing anything good. Nice play Ohashi again
  18. For those without audio, you've missed Sidnei pledging double figures for goals and assists (each I think!)
  19. He also scored a deserved goal of the season 2 years back, but to some he never does anything good
  20. Suhail will be panicking at the thought of having to refund 50p per purchase for the lack of audio
  21. There should be, I'm sure the club posted earlier that Sidnei would be on comms
  22. Does anyone have sound on their stream?
