No issue with criticising the club where it's deserved but this lacks common sense. Why would you travel long distance for friendlies when it's not necessary? Top tier clubs and Wrexham do it to capitalise on considerable international popularity but few others have that. Have a look at the pre season friendlies of other Champ clubs. Sheff Utd have York, Rotherham, Harrogate and chesterfield. Boro have Gateshead, Harrogate and Doncaster. We might get a 'glamour' home friendly but the club has done this a few times over the years - we got Girona last time and they ended this season qualifying for the ucl

Actually it says when he makes a competitive start. This doesn't say Nixon specifically has written the long list of inaccurate articles, just that there has been a long list of such reports. -

Mbappe to Madrid officially announced. We must have been a close second choice. -
Irrespective of whether or not the fee is the amount we should have got, nobody can deny a club record amount is insignificant. What is rarely acknowledged is the message it would have sent to players in the club had it been rejected. Sure, some will (reasonably to a degree) argue a rejected bid would have shown some ambition - keep your best players etc. But the contract negotiation earlier in the season, and likely with any player but particularly the young ones, is sign with us and you have a pathway to play in the first team. Perform there and your Prem chance will come. If we had rejected the club record bid given we had no chance of promotion, the risk is other players don't sign on particularly if they're being monitored by prem teams. Agents won't advise Rovers as being a platform to showcase and develop talent as a stepping stone to the Prem, instead it'd be Rovers will put a block on you if you're ready to progress. Before anyone gets insulted at Rovers being a stepping stone club, that's only reflective of where the club is given the last decade or so.

I'd argue the midfielder in his prime from the erdivisie or a regular Icelandic international who had played in the UCL were bigger European signings -
Harrogate Town's pricing. Obvious caveat is it's an affluent area but they also don't sell out and are in the fourth tier. Quite frightening prices for that level of football IMO
-
In fairness, the club and many other clubs have run early bird prices for as long as I can remember.
-
Having had all of an hour or so since the announcement, pricing should have been: £340 - Jack Walker upper central - to reflect Shearer's 34 league goals. £199.50 all other areas. At that price point, it isn't a a throwaway reference to the title winning year.
-
When we only sell 600 in the stand it'll work out like that anyway. Or alternatively, even at a 1 in 2/3/4 chance, the odds aren't too bad.
-
My interpretation is all 600 will be in a ballot, not first come first served
-
If they had really wanted to play on the 30 year anniversary and were committed to increasing attendance, they should have set prices at the 94/95 price (yep, probably unrealistic). By chance does anyway have the ST prices from 94/95 or indeed a tracker of how the prices have changed over the years?
-
If Leeds go up, they can't spin the line that a ST will be a big saving in their category A+ £45 ticket for their visit.

You tried to dismiss someone's view on the basis of the fees being undisclosed. Then contradicted yourself by quoting fees. That the fees were wrong compared to what was reported is another issue. -

It's not just the sums not adding up but the contradiction... undisclosed fees when it suits, circa £5m spent when asked to support his comment. -

If he had negotiated a higher wage with us than his Orlando one, or any bonuses/fees etc, we could be liable to pay those as he wasn't at fault. Loss of earnings and all that. -

This summer? If we're honest, we've been getting shafted in an unwelcome manner for over a decade. -

For me it would be the same with any player in a similar position - young, being dangled the carrot of a dream move. Transfer may or may not have been pulled mid-flight. Then gets told it's resurrected as a loan. Everything completed well before deadline, officially announced....you're on cloud 9. And then to be told the club messed it up? And you probably hear they did similar 12 months ago? It's a horrendous way to treat anyone, let alone a young player half way across the world. It's embarrassing that it's my club, our club, and therefore people can dislike/hate those involved and how they've tarnished the name of the club as a whole. -

Firstly this kind of aligns to what Chris Brown says - some fans think that due to the history of the club, it should be some incredible thing that wins people over. Yet that ignores the recent history of utter tripe. Secondly, we humiliated him. Even if we believe the club's version - he chose to come to England when told the transfer had fallen through - we paraded him as signed, literally broadcasting it to the world. Then he had to go back through no fault of his but due to the most incompetent of mistakes. I've seen comments on here about how people with any dignity who are employed by the club should stand up for the truth or walk (and forgo relatively decent wages). Yet we also get points like this which, in basic form, is "we're Blackburn Rovers and you should be grateful we're interested in you". McGuire has as much right as any player to slam Rovers and tell them where to go, if that's the stance he wants to take. What he actually said was he'd be willing to speak to the club, if nothing else. -

I imagine anyone remotely in their prime, age wise, from the Prem would be massively out of our budget and likely very few would take the sort of pay cut required for us to sign them. £30k a week is nothing for prem clubs to pay reserve players. -

If we sign McGuire, no way Dolan stays. Can't have 2 of them summersaulting when scoring, it'd be too much flair for Eustace's team. -
