  1. Swag is about as transparent as it gets, to most. He’ll be slightly worried a fan driven game will be better received than any of the shite ideas he and his cronies have tried. So in that event it’ll be it’s “us” not the guys actually doing it.
  2. What I like is this presumably is being organised by people giving up their time all will have their normal jobs. Already sounds better than anything people at the club have done and they get paid for it.
  3. With the fan involvement in proceedings I don’t think I’ve ever wanted a preseason game to be a success. Hopefully commercially but even in terms of positive feedback. I’ve said for years it’s embarrassing that the rovers look on at how they do things at Stanley with envy and even bloody Clitheroe more effort than rovers. If I was in control would put decent beer on, transport, fuck off that Sodexo, programmes, give a load of free tickets to those less fortunate for a very easy PR win. That’s before doing stuff like a bit of live music beforehand/after. Unfortunately I think I know the clubs/swags game. For the fa cups don’t get 5 figure crowds so when 2-3k rock up for a friendly vs a team no sod has ever heard of they’ll use it as a stick to say well the fans thought they could do better (which I’m sure 100% will do) but no sod came so back to normal. I wouldn’t be surprised if swag can somehow guarantee it’s hooning it down.
  4. It’s embarrassing. Same every time there’s a crowd. They can’t handle it. It’s scandalous there isn’t an ashes in the north next time round but frankly ot doesn’t deserve one. I was talking to an Australian during a 45 minute long queue at tea and he said 90,000 at the mcg and he can’t recall ever having to queue. There’s so many better systems such as troughs like get a festivals and Hyde park concerts. Nope we’ll get about 20 port a loos for an extra 8,000 fans. Truthfully the club doesn’t give a shit about match day experience. Unless on the point balcony of course.
  5. Shambles of a cricket ground. Forgetting it’s as ugly as sin the toilet situation is a joke.
  6. Perennial bridesmaids Somerset move above Lancs in terms of trophies won this century. I forget the stat but it’s something like Lancs were/are the joint 2nd or 3rd least successful county this century. So consolidating that lowly position. Derbyshire better not get some players coming through.
  7. I agree. Its not just football either cricket is going big on it. I can see why from a marketing point of view they look to tag it on to a man’s game because from a quality point of view women’s sport is just a little bit shit. They’re in a tough spot really they need to make comparisons with men’s sport to sustain interest in it but by doing that it will naturally draw direct comparisons, the most ludicrous one seen recently a list of Englands all time goal scorers combining genders. 🤷‍♂️. Frankly the gals national side would be lower non league tiers
  8. Since Mitchell is out with a groin problem would have been nice if the club captain deemed it appropriate to be in the squad, but you have a rest Livi lad, take the weight off. Get back to the liv golf days out. Take jos as a caddy. As for the starting xi Jones over bell and de grandhomme over balderson. Really?!
  9. 2027 - Lords, oval, ageas, edgbaston, Trent bridge. 2031 - Lords, oval, Trent bridge, ot, headingley. As long as London gets 2 games every series whether it’s a 5 match or 3 match that’s all that matters.
  10. Its a poor do that the next home ashes series will see Trent bridge as the furthest north stadium.
  11. Yeah I’d forgotten the shoulder put him out of it all.
  12. Not sure what they’re going to do at ot. Unless the groundsman has something up his sleeve a flat batting pitch won’t be much good for jimmy who will only come in for Robinson. Bairstow shouldn’t play over foakes but suspect he will. Will pope come back in
  13. What a relief. Not doing my blood pressure any good. Get another win in the north at ot
  14. God forbid we have a group of test players who able to play proper cricket. Learn a wide range of shots, know how to defend and how to attack, what balls to hit and what balls to leave. Nah let’s just swing at it and see what happens.
  15. They’re still playing brain dead shots. Isn’t that Bazball
  16. I’ll have a sportsman’s bet with you that if duckett gets to 30 test caps his average will be under 30.
  17. Give it time. Playing like he does that’ll tumble. The problem with England. We have to pick 11 players. Over half the team aren’t good enough to play test cricket yet have to play them.
  18. You seem to have followed that to its logical conclusion. The fa ignore the plight of rovers therefore as a result you find it funny when the national team lose. Nothing but sense there.
  19. Ali coming in at 3 with a test average of about 25. He is the classic not good enough as a batsman not good enough as a bowler but because tries both has over 50 test caps to his name.
