  1. Confidence in Rovers/Mowbray is back to an all time low for me. Performances are poor, defending is comical and we are in another poor run of form. We will probably lose this and then possibly snap out of the Mogga death spiral and go 7 unbeaten starting against Birmingham.
  2. A few earlier posts about him playing as a false 9 and shunting Arma outwide. From memory, and I could be wrong, but we've played with the false 9 a few times with a number of different players (Holtby, Dack and Buckley) and it seems to fail more often than succeed. I think Holtby scored 2 games running or something but I can't remember if he was a false 9 or not at the time. I'd be very reluctant to shove Arma back outwide as well, where the number of good games he's had there you can count on 1 hand. Dack is our best player by some distance, so if 4-3-3 doesn't suit, we need to revert back to 4-2-3-1. It wouldn't be at the detriment of any other players as Mowbray constantly plays people out of position as it is and all but around 2 of our players (Nyambe & Kaminski) are incredibly inconsistent in our current set up. Rothwell would be probably the biggest casualty but he's just as inconsistent as the rest.
  3. Stunning really how he's managed to get us in near enough the exact same position for the last 3 seasons. The evidence that we are not progressing is right there. Having a better squad is even more damning of Mowbray's abilities as a manager that we actually have a lower (albeit very minor) points tally than both 2 previous seasons. The slow build is obviously just bullshit and a smokescreen to pander to the fans/owners. Times up, get Bilic or Pearson and have a real crack at promotion. Venkys won't do that though. Terrible owners who make abysmal decisions.
  4. We weren't hit on the break yesterday, we should have been fully in control of that situation but yet another piece of abysmal defending let us down, albeit the goal scored was a superb strike. Still Douglas shouldn’t have headed the ball into Ayala in the first place. Poor Communication or just a lapse in concentration, either way, unacceptable.
  5. You're talking about a former centre back who can't get his team to defend.
  6. Most of the time these days, we are all calling for someone to be subbed off at half time because they are having an absolute mare. Mowbray never seems to change them though.
  7. Pulis' wet dream this. Give the opposition all the possession, score, sit back and close ranks, win 0-1.
  8. Pretty criminal that to be honest. No idea why Carter wouldn't be sat on the bench just incase, given how injury prone our defenders are. The temptation for Mowbray now is just to drop Johnson into Centre back but its not ideal.
  9. Xmas eve. Time to crack open a beer i think 🍺
  10. Merry Christmas to all Rovers fans, wherever you are in the world.
  11. I figured we'd trigger the 1 year option on his deal but i didn't think we'd get him tied down to another 3 years. Awesome news. Nyambe next please
  12. Yer Covid: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/55423971
  13. I'm surprised they haven't done something like this. 2 championship games already off on boxing day. More to follow i'd say
  14. People keep giving Steve K**n jobs in football. Mowbray will ballet dance into another gig.
  15. Wharton is out for the season and Williams is out for a few months. Wouldn't expect Williams to be back anytime soon or to stay fit for any reasonable period of time either. Without question we need another centre back, might end up with a loan, which is fine but in the summer it needs some serious work.
  16. His only managerial experience is being the manager of Dinamo Tbilisi from the Georgian league. Looks like he only joined them as manager earlier this year as well. So not an experienced manager by any stretch. Edit: Turns out he was only in charge of his last (and only job) for 11 games. This appointment has not gone down well on the Watford twitter post about his arrival.
  17. Watford have binned their manager.
  18. Doesn't matter, Venkys wouldn't appoint either.
  19. He's a striker isn't he? Must have put Elliott in midfield
