  1. Well, I didn't expect that line up
  2. It's a toss up between best 11 and giving a few players a chance to shine. Be good to see either JRC or Nyambe make a real claim for Right back, although it will probably be a futile effort. Would be good to see the likes of Butterworth and Buckley get a run out also. Brereton and/or Gallagher to hopefully get a confidence boosting goal. I'd probably play William's and Tosin just to get some game time in.
  3. Yer I don't think they'd hang onto us if it meant their business was suffering. To be honest they must know that the footballing world thinks they are a joke and some of the worst owners in the game? They must, surely. So, how much face can they even save? They might actually gain a bit of credit back if they sold us.
  4. Unhappy to see Bennett given the armband. Largely because it means one of our weakest areas will remain weak. When he was playing CM in our league one campaign, I'd have been happy with him being skipper, as he ended being an important part of the team but now he shouldn't really be starting at all. Like when C**le made Lowe captain. A huge mistake.
  5. The company I work for have offices out in India and we use the staff on a daily basis, for the obvious reason they are cheap as hell. I'd say a good 90% produce poor/lower quality of work than they should in their roles. And it's a constant battle going back and forth before you get what you want. We had one guy, who was so bad, we ended up sending 3 or 4 emails to his manager out there about the poor quality of his work. His manager, just buried his head in the sand and didn't take our complaints seriously at all. Without wanting to admit the bloke was a failure, he just moved him onto another project and that was the end of it. Maybe it's a cultural thing and they don't want to admit failure, maybe they think they are doing a good job and see nothing wrong (something else that seems to happen a lot with the Indian teams we have), who knows? As an aside, I've been to India (Bangalore) and its absolute fucking carnage, after being there, it's no surprise to see Venkys ownership of Rovers being the same. (Yes I'm aware they live in Pune)
  6. Time before that though......
  7. You've got to laugh. Absolutely no one to blame but himself. So, an unfit William's and city youngster to start.
  8. Skretel has signed for Atalanta. So we can scratch him off the list.
  9. Hey it wouldn't be 2pm on a Saturday without a huge disappointment, right?
  10. I wouldn't put it past Mowbray to give Bennett the armband but if he does it will be a huge disappointment.
  11. Yep. Mental. William's can't be match fit.
  12. Maybe Mowbray did read the riot act on the defenders and that led to a bust up with him and Mulgrew?
  13. He's just bagged too. Wrong net though!
  14. The line has always been "Judge him at the end of the window" So, judge away!
  15. Do you think Williams will play? He didn't get any pre-season games in at all? He can't be up to match fitness already.
  16. Going forward, i'd probably go the same but i'm sure i read that Cunningham won't be playing tomorrow. He needs to start getting Rothwell on the field from the off though and dropping Bennett from right back.
  17. Johnson for me. Big imposing figure, knows the league, has the experience & should be a respected member of the dressing room. I also like Centre mids as captains. When the chips are down, they can impose themselves on the game more, get crunching tackles in and lead by example. Doesn't matter to me if he's a new signing.
  18. Yer, true. Pay off it is then.
  19. It's an interesting point to be fair. If it was indeed a bust up that saw his hasty exit, it's unlikely Mowbray would want him back. There is a possibility that Mowbray won't be our manager next season, so the new manager might want Mulgrew back. There is a good chance, we will just give him away for free in the summer to avoid shelling out on his wages.
  20. Reed is a significant upgrade on Evans. Energy, workrate, tackling, technical ability all a cut above Evans. In his 1 season with us, he scored 3 goals as well, which is just 1 less than Evans had manage in his entire Rovers career. Having Travis, Johnson and Reed for our Centre mid options would have been a superb choice of players. Those 3 would have worked superbly for a 3 man midfield as well.
  21. Be interesting to see if anyone has the inside track on this move. A few pages back, someone mentioned a potential bust up with TM and CM, following the Charlton disaster. We needed to phase Mulgrew out over the course of the season so him leaving isn't a problem as such. The problem is, we are light on centre backs and we really needed to sign one. Let's hope we have a free transfer lined up (but not Rodwell)
  22. That would be my choice also.
  23. So then, with Mulgrew gone. Lenihan or Johnson for captain?. It can't be anyone else. Mowbray could make a similar mistake to what Coyle did when he made J-Lowe captain by giving it to Bennett.
  24. He might even stick with Bennett. but Willo and Bell most likely. Should be last chance saloon for Bell.
