I didn't know that info from the FF, so fair enough but absolutely it's less than the minimum they should be investing considering the monies received. I agree that the deadline would be to get interested parties to the table woth serious offers but I disagree that the money would be used for transfer bids. They cant/won't invest until after the court hearing and there is nothing to suggest they will win it. If it goes against them or it's adjourned again, every single penny will be needed to keep the lights on. They need him sold and are trying to force the other clubs into action. The deadline is only a rumour, so could be bollox anyway!

Again, agreed. If there is any truth the deadline rumour the club are clearly looking for a quick cash injection, probably in part to cover the fee for this new lad and the rest (and any future) budgeted for keeping the lights on in the event of the court case going against/another adjournment.

It won't be as intense you wouldn't think but he'll still need a good break after a full season. And then likely needs time to get up to full fitness as well, as you say.

I suspect we won't be signing the J-League player unless we sell Szmodics. The deadline, if true, is probably there to push that deal through in order to fund the other. We'd still be open to selling Szmodics after that deadline anyway you know what they are like, they'll sell him on deadline day if an offer comes in.

@Browjd Perhaps that would be that case under other circumstances, however in this case it's purely to keep the lights on whilst they get through the courts.

Was thinking the same thing about him being "left out as a precaution" on Saturday. He's already stated his desire for a Premier League move, so can only see 1 outcome of this. We're already facing a relegation battle, not 1 I'm confident that we're winning either, but without Szmodics we're heading for the bottom of the pile.
