  1. There's an air of arrogance about Tomasson. He's got that Colgate ring of confidence 😄 of someone who is wealthy and successful and good looking (so I've been told). People like that don't take advice kindly and usually think they're right about most things, so the last thing he's going to do is demean himself by doing research on opponents or actually admit he's been wrong about the way we've been playing. In fact, people who are that confident usually do the opposite and double down on their point of view. I don't expect to see any changes in Rovers' tactics after the break
  2. I won't be boycotting but I won't be going out of my way to watch matches other than England's. The tournament and its organisers Fifa stink of corruption and the World Cup should never have been awarded to a country like Qatar and nor should it be taking place at this time of year. So yes, I'll be involved and backing England but it's not the same because it's been tainted. Something else that was wonderful crucified on the altar of money
  3. Footballers at all levels are vastly overpaid - goodnight
  4. Why not be honest for once and admit the bleeding obvious - that Tomasson got it massively wrong yesterday from the moment he picked the team to moments after the final whistle with his nonsensical post-match statements It's not a binary choice to acknowledge we're in a good position in the league and the fact that the manager continues to make basic mistakes with his pig-headed tactical approach and his strange Mowbray-esque team selections In other words, you can support the team and the club and still criticise it and the manager at the same time Go on - you can do it
  5. It’s a jolly, nothing else. If I’d been chief exec I’d have cancelled it and made them run along the beach at Blackpool. It was good enough for Stanley Matthews
  6. The performance yesterday would have come as a shock to those fans who don’t normally attend away games but for travelling fans it was typical of what we have had to endure in many games this season. It was one reason why after the Coventry debacle I didn’t go to West Ham in midweek and why I probably won’t be going on a planned trip to the Norwich match in December. I just can’t stand watching that rubbish any more
  7. Lots unfortunately. Prime ministers, politicians, chief executives, football managers.... they all walk off into the sunset with huge payoffs, and then turn up shortly after in another job
  8. The old weasal words "lessons must be learnt" beloved of politicians and other useless people who've messed up The point is, Tomasson doesn't learn any lessons. He's instructed Rovers to play from the back, and it's causing us multiple problems and led to many defeats. Even the old pros commentating on TV don't understand it. Our position in the league is false and hides the fact we're an average side with one very good striker.
  9. I’m glad someone else agrees. And I don’t think he’s up to much. A centre half who allows a journeyman striker like Ashley Barnes to dominate him isn’t good. He couldn’t cope with the Luton centre forward - another big ox - either. I wouldn’t play him.
  10. Sorry, alot of them looked like they couldn't be bothered. It's not unusual - I've seen it many times this season. Then you get games like West Ham, where they were clearly pulling their tripe out, so it shows they can do it when they want to. To win get promotion, you have to be 100% focused every match, not every other game or when you feel like it.
  11. Tomasson needs to explain Brittain at left back because it makes no sense especially as Pickering has been playing well when he's been given the chance. With the left footed Hedges at right back also it's probably some wild coaching theory about forcing players inside but football's a simple game... play your best players in the correct positions and let them get on with it.
  12. Do any of them live in the area? Does Waggott? Do they have any idea of the rivalry? Does Waggott have any inkling of what Rovers v Burnley means? A good CEO would be impressing onnewcomer like Tomasson the importance of today's match. Kompany certainly does - and as do the Burnley directors and the players to judge from the passion they showed. Our lot played like it was a training exercise
  13. “It’s been a disappointing afternoon and we’re disappointed with our performance because it didn’t reflect the way we’ve been playing for a while," ..... Tomasson I would say it's a perfect reflection how we've been playing in most away games (and some at home too). He's deluded Even allowing for the fact it's a poor division we're in a false position in 3rd. Without some better players coming in in January and a rethink on tactics the odd must be that we'll sink slowly down the table in the second half of the season
  14. Out of order and not the first time you've done it
  15. Well played England, a welcome victory on an otherwise dire sporting weekend with defeats for England women's rugby, England men's rugby league, GB tennis and Rovers Nice to win down there too. They won't like it
  16. I haven't seen us win yet, and the defending in those defeats has been rank amateur
  17. Where was the mentality of the West Ham game where we showed fight, commitment and a willingness to attack instead of just camp inside our own box?
  18. East Lancashire belongs to Burnley again, said the commentator Let that sink in I want an apology from Tomasson
  19. Tomasson is responsible now; no one else. This is his team and he's set it up to play this way
  20. Rovers have looked a good team at times this season when we've gone out and attacked teams So why keep playing like this away from home when it just doesn't work?
  21. This is Tomasson's team and Rovers are playing "his" way
  22. You're telling me. I've seen a fair few. Tomasson is worse than Mowbray
  23. You have to say Burnley deserve it. They've dominated the whole match
  24. This is now embarrassing It couldn't be a worse day
