  1. Why don't you use the reply button? Waggott is CEO; he's the man in charge at Ewood Park. When things go wrong (which they have), he should carry the can, or at least give some sort of explanation. This shouldn't need explaining
  2. A good CEO who cared about relations with the local public would not be happy about the article and be on the phone to Sharpe for a clear-the-air meeting, or at least put out a statement putting the club's point of view Instead we'll get the usual silence for the Ewood hierarchy
  3. Are you able to use the reply button? Obviously he's answerable to India but unless you're expecting that lot to appear before the local press he is the man who should be answerable to the Blackburn public and answering the awkward questions - not Tomasson Conte was right. The way we do this in England is wrong
  4. He's the CEO. The head man at Ewood. CEOs in other public-facing businesses are answerable for their actions. He should be too
  5. Those sorts of threats are wrong and unacceptable of course but at least it shows the fans care and have a passion for the club I've seen on here it suggested the best way Rovers fans should "protest" is by staying away from matches Yeah that's right, stay at home or go down the pub and have a moan. It's easier than actually doing something
  6. Why? That's when he needs to be held to account, to justify his decisions. At it stands, he can hide away in office and not say a word on important matters that fans need to know about
  7. Conte, the Tottenham manager, raised this in the press recently. It is only in England that the manager has to explain to the media everything that's going on at a club - from the training pitch to the transfer negotiations to club ownership. In Italy, the coach / manager is only answerable to the performance of the team He's right. When has Daniel Levy ever been on TV to explain what's going on at Tottenham? Similarly, Broughton and Waggott should be in front of the media to explain the transfer dealings and any other issues This needs to change
  8. From my playing days the arrival of new players always had a positive effect. The new players were out to impress and the existing players wanted to show they were better than the new boys. I can't see any way that the Rovers players will be galvanised by this transfer window - in fact it shows if the club can't be bothered to be ambitious and try to be better why should they?
  9. Quite frankly, he’s probably sitting at home with a smile on his face counting his x millions redundancy money
  10. You’re watching a different player to most people. I see a player who lacks the physical presence, skill, pace or tactical nous to play in the championship. He doesn’t score goals, he doesn’t work very hard and he’s 22 - if he hasn’t made it by now he is very unlikely to
  11. Disagree. Does long term damage to the club. People get out of the habit of going and supporter base shrinks. The team needs support, not the people running the club. Fans should be doing the opposite and attending in greater numbers and making their feelings known through protests / banners etc. I’m not saying any of this will lead to change or get through to the owners but fans staying away doesn’t help anyone least of all the long term future of BRFC
  12. I’ll be happy to be proved wrong. But I’m not the only one who can’t see Vale has any of the attributes to become a championship player. “ Professional judgement” is a poor yardstick - Mowbray gave game time to butterworrh, another player who it was hard to see how he ever got near the first team
  13. On the other hand some players are obvious no-hopers. They look poor from the start and never get better. We’ve had plenty of those over the years
  14. Liverpool 2-0 down early on and in freefall Klopp for the chop? Maybe not yet but some fans are turning against him
  15. No manager is "safe" A run of bad results and Potter will be potted
  16. Fair play to your lot. Burnley look unstoppable at the moment. Great time to be a Clarets fan As a matter of interest, did Kompany talk about a "Project" when he took over? My betting is he didn't
  17. An internal review into what - common sense (or lack of it?). Like most people I've never been involved in transfer negotiations (or big business deals for that matter) but the failings at Ewood in the window didn't require any specialist knowledge or skills, only getting some absolute basics right that anyone with a reasonable IQ would have achieved. The transfer debacle was sloppy, it was poor, it was people not doing their job properly, and it should not have happened. It doesn't need an "internal review"
  18. So we wheel him on from the sub's bench to take free kicks and corners then wheel him off again afterwards Good idea?
  19. Amid all this West Brom are 1-0 against Coventry and we're now down to 7th
  20. Probably the biggest indictment of all: nothing has changed
  21. EFL pettyness or not (the truth of Nicko's revelation will emerge presumably), I agree that senior management should have been overseeing these transactions at Ewood and Sylvester should not have been left alone to make sure they were completed correctly Waggott seems most at fault to me and should carry the can. I blame Broughton more for the general lack of transfer activity, and until the very last minute, and the fact he was also responsible for the Hirst debacle which could have left us with a £5m bill
  22. I agree, but blocking the deal and making a player potentially sit on the sidelines for 6 months because of an "e" missing (or not) seems harsh The relegation clause is silly and can easily be challenged.
  23. If that is the case (and anything from Nicko needs to be taken with a huge pinch of salt), then the EFL looks as though it's being unreasonable with a) its relegation clause and b) pedantic with the Sharpe mis-spelling (though it should not have happened) A top legal eagle would have a good argument with the EFL if this information is correct
  24. How did an administrative cock-up (filling in a form correctly) become a "process"? It's just management goobledegook which anyone who's come across these people in the corporate sector would instantly recognise In plain English, they made a mess of something that the average schoolboy could do
  25. Forest manager Steve Cooper on the O'Brien farce in the NET which puts Rovers' PR spin on all this into perspective "It wasn’t us, that’s for sure. Even though we’ve ended up with the problem, it wasn’t us. It won’t take a genius to work out what’s happened. I hope some questions are getting asked over there, in Lancashire. “We will look after Lewis. We won’t let him down. We’ll try to treat him like a professional footballer who works hard and cares about his career. We’ll try to treat him as best we can "He’s frustrated. Through no fault of his own, he’s embarrassed. “We made the decision that he could go. It wasn’t a straightforward decision or an easy one. I imagine our supporters quite like Lewis, the attributes he has and the energy he plays with. “It wasn’t a straightforward decision to let him go, but we felt it was the correct one - not just for him, but also for us, so he could carry on developing - because he’s not that old, even though he has played a lot of games. “Once you make the decision for our player, you expect it to be respected by other parties. Let’s just say, I hope we treat our players better.”
