  1. Another dispiriting defeat in front of the home fans following on from the Preston debacle Can you blame folk for not turning up?
  2. So the brilliant and exciting win at West Ham was all a waste of time because Tomasson didn't want to field his first XI He'd better win the next league game then
  3. Forest are fighting a relegation battle but have put out a decent side. What is their focus? It is possible to try to be successful on more than one front.
  4. Cup quarter-final is on offer tonight and Tomasson puts out a reserve team. Then they wonder why gates are low
  5. Why the weakened side? Does the possibility of a good cup run mean nothing to the manager or the club
  6. And the best of all, Alan Ball, born Farnworth 1945
  7. Brilliant game, 2 very good teams both in different league to England
  8. Penalties Allez les Blues Let’s see Messi crying tears of pain
  9. And that Harry is how you take a penalty
  10. English managers and England teams don't win so presumably the FA are happy to carry on in the same way If the FA wanted to win the World Cup they'd poach Deschamps from the French Deschamps could win his third World Cup today as player and manager
  11. That hadn’t occurred to me and it’s an interesting idea and although it might explain the obsession of playing from the back i think if the EFL had made such a directive the story would have been in the media. It was good to hear Rovers mixed it up more yesterday. We could not carry on as we were. Has Tomasson seen the light or have the players had a word with him?
  12. Toyed with going to Norwich and so glad I didn't - I haven't seen us win this season yet Great result and so unexpected after the Preston debacle. I had a look around some Norwich sites and fans are clearly not happy with Smith. It doesn't seem a happy camp and we probably played them at a good time Have we stopped playing Pep ball at the back? I certainly hope so. Preston apparently were woeful losing at home to QPR today - which puts last week's result in some perspective Which side of Tomasson's Jekyll and Hide team will turn up in the next match?
  13. The players' attitude in the Burnley and Preston games was awful. They just didn't want to know. Has Tomasson lost the dressing room - because that's how it appeared I'm worried we could get a 5 or 6 goal drubbing at Norwich.
  14. It’s now known as the “Messi World Cup” according to some in the media. Pass the sick bag France v Argentina in the final is like Burnley v Preston. You don’t want either of them to win. Is a 0-0 bore fest with all the players sent off possible please?
  15. Bobby Robson's 1990 team would have been worthy finalists - England were unlucky. But that seems to be a theme with England - something always seems to go wrong and failure seems inevitable
  16. Maddison wasn't fit and probably shouldn't have been there. Having said that, it's unlikely he would have played much anyway. Southgate prefers his favoured midfield plodders - you know who they are
  17. Griezmann has played better and more influential in this World Cup than Messi. His transformation from striker to midfield playmaker has been remarkable. Argentina would not have got through to the final without dubious refereeing decisions. It gauls me to say it, but Allez Les Blues on Sunday
  18. Same here I was lucky enough to see England win the World Cup in 1966 and I've been waiting 56 years for us to win another tournament Then you're getting older and you realise it's not going to happen in your lifetime That's why the France game was so gut wrenching. Again
  19. Sorry, no. Messi isn't one of my favourite players. It's all about opinions and personal preferences. There's a poster on here who's very anti Harry Kane. I don't understand that as I think England are lucky to have him, but that's his view
  20. Aren't England just copying Australian strategy from 20 plus years ago? They had a golden crop of batsmen who amassed big scores very quickly at more than 4 runs an over - which was very fast for Test cricket at that time. The idea was to put a big total on the board and then give Warne etc loads of time to work their magic and bowl teams out.
  21. We all have our favourites. Messi doesn't excite me. Of this generation I'd rather watch C Ronaldo in his pomp. It's something in the way he moves. And neither can hold a candle to Pele The media and in particular TV adoration of Messi is sickening and the Argentinians' celebrations when they beat the Netherlands showed them to be the scumbags they are Come on Croatia
  22. This World Cup gets worse The Messi cult is nauseating. No one should want Argentina to win Come on Croatia
  23. Yes, credit to both. It takes 2 to make a game and Pakistan have played their full part. They could have capitulated in the face of England's assault in the first game - but they didn't. And they could easily have won the second
  24. At any normal club, results on the pitch would decide. At any normal club, the manager would pay the price when they are no longer acceptable. If Tomasson has "lost" the dressing room, as someone reported, poor results and poor performances will follow. Some would say that has already started and at any normal club, Tomasson would soon be shown the door. But Rovers is not a normal club
