If that is the case (and anything from Nicko needs to be taken with a huge pinch of salt), then the EFL looks as though it's being unreasonable with a) its relegation clause and b) pedantic with the Sharpe mis-spelling (though it should not have happened) A top legal eagle would have a good argument with the EFL if this information is correct -

How did an administrative cock-up (filling in a form correctly) become a "process"? It's just management goobledegook which anyone who's come across these people in the corporate sector would instantly recognise In plain English, they made a mess of something that the average schoolboy could do -

Forest manager Steve Cooper on the O'Brien farce in the NET which puts Rovers' PR spin on all this into perspective "It wasn’t us, that’s for sure. Even though we’ve ended up with the problem, it wasn’t us. It won’t take a genius to work out what’s happened. I hope some questions are getting asked over there, in Lancashire. “We will look after Lewis. We won’t let him down. We’ll try to treat him like a professional footballer who works hard and cares about his career. We’ll try to treat him as best we can "He’s frustrated. Through no fault of his own, he’s embarrassed. “We made the decision that he could go. It wasn’t a straightforward decision or an easy one. I imagine our supporters quite like Lewis, the attributes he has and the energy he plays with. “It wasn’t a straightforward decision to let him go, but we felt it was the correct one - not just for him, but also for us, so he could carry on developing - because he’s not that old, even though he has played a lot of games. “Once you make the decision for our player, you expect it to be respected by other parties. Let’s just say, I hope we treat our players better.” -

Tomasson must be considering his options this morning. He must have come to the conclusion he was sold a pup by the management, the job isn't what it said on the tin, and that working for low-quality people just isn't worth it. He's a wealthy man and can afford to walk away. And who would blame him? -

And there you have it Leading officials Steve Waggott and Suhail Pasha were at the FA Cup tie in Birmingham while the potential £10 million move was going through in Lancashire. Secretary Ian Silvester was left to send across the relevant forms. Silvester screwed up but the real villains were in Birmingham -

Some obvious questions for any reporter to question the CEO on the club statement: “The club would like to update our supporters on the situation concerning trying to bring in two players prior to the 11pm transfer deadline on Tuesday, January 31. (why was this statement not put out earlier and fans kept in the dark for so long and why yet again was there no or very little communication from the club throughout the window?) “One of the deals was a very ambitious target (what does this mean, by all accounts we were the only club in the running for O'Brien, or did he not really want to come to us or do we not consider ourselves good enough to sign this calibre of player?) and it was only confirmed that he was able to join us late Tuesday afternoon. “Due to the complex nature of the various agreements to be included within the overall registration, legal advisors were brought in to assist in part of the process (when were they brought in, right at the start or only very late in the process? Were they actually at Ewood working with the admin staff?. How did they liaise with the CEO when he was 100 miles away at Birmingham?). “Despite the club’s best endeavours to complete all the required elements of this loan transfer, due to events we believe to be outside of our control (what does this mean, "believe to be outside of our control", either these events were or were not outside our control) , the deadline for submission was late (how late, 5 minutes or hours?) and despite the club stating the mitigating reasons for the delayed submission, our application has today been rejected by the EFL. “Our application for the second deal – for the permanent transfer of a promising young player – was also delayed due to unsigned paperwork (how did this happen, was the paperwork not checked several times before it was submitted?) and technical issues encountered by the club at the point of submission (again what does this mean, did the internet go down, did the software not work, or did someone at the club not know how to make it work? This requires an explanation) . “Once again the EFL has not accepted these issues were an impediment to the paperwork being lodged on time and has also rejected this application." “The club will now appeal (you appeal AGAINST) the EFL decision to reject both applications and will submit documents ahead of the Tuesday, February 7 deadline (what makes you believe the club will be successful when it appears on the face of it that the club is fault?) .” -

The club secretary or another minion will probably get blamed for this but a responsible CEO with lawyers on hand should have been at Ewood on Tuesday night overseeing these transactions - particularly the O'Brien deal which was obviously more complicated and might need attention. Waggott should certainly not have been at Birmingham. As the man in charge, he's responsible IMO -

Fans are angry and upset at the way our club is being run, and you're just rubbing salt in the wounds. Give it a rest -

jim mk2 replied to Upside Down's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Did you beat the deadline to get him signed up? Nixon has a reputation as a clickbait hack who’s done the rounds of just about every journalistic outlet so I hope you’re not paying him too much or is he paying you? Anyway look forward to reading his well researched scoops - an analysis of the shambles behind the scenes at Ewood would be a good start -

Haven’t heard “sack the board” ringing round Ewood for many a year. But those were the days when we had a board of local people who were answerable to the fans Supporters also cared enough then to get on the pitch to make their feelings known. That sort of passion has gone now sadly because the club in many ways has become disconnected from the fan base, not surprising when they can’t even be bothered to puf out a statement explaining the transfer window farrago -

You do know Celtic put out an under-12 team? Good try again at trying to divert attention away from the latest cockup by the bunglers running our club Any relevant thoughts? -

Completely agree. The lack of communication is almost as bad the administrative bungling. It shows total contempt and indifference for the supporters and smacks of arrogance too. And they wonder why gates are falling -

Above all, supporters need and deserve information from the club. The continuing silence is unacceptable and even a short announcement saying when a statement is being made would be something. It's not fair to treat paying fans like this -
