Crawley needs to be dropped, they can't keep picking him when he keeps getting out in the same way. The lad's head has gone Difficulty conditions at Edgbaston today; "Bazball" clearly doesn't work against a class attack when the going is a bit tougher.

35 in one over - a record in Test cricket history. Short ball rubbish Mike Hendrick and some of the old school county bowlers who would just stick the ball in the blockhole for ball after ball wouldn't believe it
-
Technically flawed and mentally weak. Hopefully he'll come good but he doesn't look anything like a Test opener at present

Stokes has started well.... the test will come when it's not going well and he still has to perform with bat and ball. It's alot for one man and it hasn't worked in the past As I have kept saying, England cricket needed an outsider/foreign coach to shake it up and McCullum has started well, let's see how it goes. It's easy at home on flat batting tracks with batters who love throwing the bat at ball one-day style. I hope Crawley comes good in the next Test, I really do, but at the moment he should be dropped, for his own sake.

Sherwood finished on BBC last night, it's been a brilliant watch, tense, well written and well acted, played out against the background of the miners' strike. The best thing I've seen on TV since Time - also on BBC

So what? Neither did Rob Key. Mourinho was never a pro player. Neither were any of the pundits on this message board including yourself who pass judgment on managers and players. That doesn’t mean they’re not entitled to opinions As it happens Steve James was a top class player who had a long career in the game. He knows how to bat and he knows the psychology behind batting. He writes well and is interesting to read and just because he (and others) criticise your failing poster boy doesn’t mean he should be dismissed
-
Steve James wrote a good piece in the Times yesterday on why Crawley is batting like a player who knows his time is up. He will probably confound his critics by making a big score soon but he needs to be dropped for his and Englands sake. The jury is out on Lees too

Transfer Window - COMPLETE. Where’s Gregg?
jim mk2 replied to chaddyrovers's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
So Rovers are looking "internally rather than "externally" for players. Translation: there's no money to spend At least Chaddy and his wet sidekick will be pleased -
Another good win for England and an excellent start for McCallum. NZ clearly off the boil and not the team they were though and it's best to reserve judgment as the team still has many weaknesses, not least Crawley who I'd want and expect to be replaced for the next series.

Is someone seriously offering £3m for Dolan? Snap their hand off now - the lad isn't worth it -
They enjoyed themselves and went for a kebab after the match to celebrate ..... do a few paragraphs count as "great insight"?? I'll carry on reading Steve James in the Times thanks. He's an ex-pro and discusses batting techniques.

Jon Dahl Tomasson - Sweden coach

"Projects" and "journeys" is horrible corporate speak that doesn't sit right in football. I wish they wouldn't. -

Meaningless tournament that the players clearly couldn't be bothered about and would rather be somewhere else Does anyone care - really, in the cricket season? And why would anyone watch it?

Bairstow in his element today, flat track, soft ball, tired bowlers and a one-day run-chase slogfest. There's no one better when he's got his dander up. He has 9 Test hundreds but he's still not my idea of a Test match batsman, the type who can battle it out on a poor pitch and against the best bowlers.

A warm welcome to JDT. After the frustration of the Mowbray years it will be refreshing to have a new man and his team at the helm. It's not a clearout as some of the old regime such as Lowe are hanging on but maybe they can be sidelined to minor roles - making the tea for instance. It's a shame Lenihan has gone and maybe one or two others will go but looking forward to some decent signings and a good pre-season. It's exciting -
There was no hindsight - as has been previously pointed out It was a Brexit moment - the WTF have we done here moment, a gut wrenching, stomach-churning I can't believe it's happened moment, a moment that you knew was a big not-for-the-better turning point, and you just knew it was a bad decision and it was going to end badly It doesn't need hindsight to see what's right in front of your nose
