  1. 😄😄 Of course he does. He's descended from old lags, he wants to see England lose. Every time The HMP XI bowlers love Crawley in the team. He's a walking wicket Never trust an Australian
  2. Crawley and Pope. dear oh dear. They've both got significant technical faults that have already been exposed at the best Test level. Neither are good enough Broad and Anderson should be thanked for their efforts and retired at Test level.
  3. I’ll believe it when it happens and I’d celebrate like everyone. Doesn’t alter the fact his comments about Reading are deluded and don’t auger well for him if that’s his level of thinking
  4. Blackburn lad talks up third division Reading. He’s either desperate or dense Pass.
  5. As far as bookies friend Mercer is concerned, that would be a first Seriously, I don't want Carlos Rentamanager Carvalhal. Sounds like a spiv and to judge from his antics at Sheff Wed, he is a spiv.
  6. Carvalhal's CV reads like a template for HireA.FootballManager.com. Do we really want here-today gone-tomorrow CarlosManagerball at Ewood? If that's the level we're looking at I'd rather take a punt on the likes of Ainsworth
  7. I agree with the cognoscenti. There is no plan A club with a plan would have decided to ditch Mowbray months ago A club with a plan would have told him it was his last season A club with a plan would have been identifying his successor over in recent weeks A club with a plan would have the new manager signed and sealed before the end of the season A club with a plan would have named him the new manager this week That is a club with a plan. Man Utd and Watford are clubs with plans
  8. Unlikely as he was a europhile but until last night we’ve done very badly over the past 10 years especially since the Brexit vote. I wonder why? Eurovision is compulsory viewing in our house - it’s so bad it’s good. We do miss old Terry though. Graham tries hard but he’s not in the same league
  9. 7 London clubs in the Prem next season, that's 7 too many Third and fourth didvision clubs like Brentford, Bournemouth, Brighton and possibly Luton in the top flight while the likes Rovers, Sheff Wed, Sunderland, Middlesbrough etc languish. Another reason why, though it goes against the grain, I want Burnley to stay up
  10. Looking good for your lads.....fingers crossed
  11. Is that the same insight you saw when predicting Leeds to beat Chelsea?
  12. He's coached in the IPL and the another white ball league from what I've read. So yes, inexperienced in coaching terms and very much a left field candidate when Kirsten was the obvious choice. Interesting though - he's an impressive type.
  13. Yeah ok, just like Rovers did with Roy Keane Doesn't work that way in the hard world of football. Most clubs tap a manager or player first. Watford just got found out
  14. "Deffo" no room for sentiment or politeness in football. They identified their man and went out and got him before others did Exhibit A: United and Roy Keane
  15. The Sky betting on Duncan Ferguson is worthless. He will never voluntarily leave Everton. And we wouldn't want him anyway - he's a hothead who doesn't have the nous to be a manager. This is going to be fun for the next 10 weeks while Venky's decide what to do Watford appointed their new man today - that's the way to do it.
  16. Stokes regards himself as a proud Cumbrian now. He's lived here since he was 12. McCullom should be given a warm welcome as England coach. After the Silverwood disaster, it needed an outsider to come in and shake the team up.
  17. Two feelings - relief and trepidation Relief because he's run his course here and this season has driven me nuts. From being in 2nd place at the new year we should now be in the play-offs at least. That's all down to Mowbray. Trepidation because the next one might be worse and Venky's will be make the appointment after prevaricating for 10 weeks and leave us weak and exposed for the new season
  18. Hughton's past his sell-by date, surely? And he failed miserably at Forest last time out Check. He's perfect for Rovers
  19. For once, you've got something right Money plays a big part in success in football and the parachute payments make a big difference when clubs come down from the Prem..... unless Steve Kean is in charge But the likes of Luton and Huddersfield and others (Dyche didn't spend much either getting 2 promotions) shows what's possible when you have a manager with a plan
  20. And so it starts....... up to 3 months of speculation and rumours while the owners do precisely nothing Then in the week before the start of the new season, some off-the-wall deadbeat in the Mowbray mould gets the job. What other plausible scenarios are there?
  21. Needs trimming and replanting at another club? I see we’re playing quite well now it doesn’t matter. Thanks a lot Tony.
  22. Dyche looks an obvious candidate for them - though he might be wary of their hire and fire policy every 6 months or so My bet though is he'll wait to see what happens at Everton and Leeds - if either of them go down with his track record they might well look to him to get them back up
  23. 😄 That's after he'd broken the legs of a few players, had a fight with the physios, punched the CEO and thrown hot water over the tea ladies. I'd rather keep Mowbray than let Roy Keane loose on Ewood.
  24. My feelings towards Burnley are one of ambivalence. I don't particularly like Burnley but I don't dislike them either. Would I prefer them to stay in the Premier League rather than a southern club? Yes I would. That's a reasonable stance and does not constitute a "soft spot" Having a problem with a player or manager just because of their Burnley connections, which is your position, is silly.
