  1. Would you not sign a very good player with Burnley connections (clue: we have many times in the past)? Of course you would
  2. Another reason why it's important for Burnley to stay up....to show the faint hearts and the doubters that ambitious Lancashire town clubs properly managed can compete at the top level
  3. Another London club in the PL (7 in total, 7 too many) and a tinpot fourth division outfit. It's a poor do
  4. January signing Kieffer Moore puts Cherries on top. He also saved them at Swansea recently after coming back from injury January signing There's a lesson there somewhere
  5. You have to hope lawyers working for the family of the late Natalie Wood don't visit this site (highly unlikely I know) or else someone is going to be appearing before m'learned friends
  6. Anyone looking for a Spanish team to follow? Here's Deportivo Alaves celebrating scoring in their recent 2-1 win over Villarreal in La Liga
  7. The managerial equivalent of a World Cup Group of Death You wouldn't want any of them
  8. Adam Blacklaw and John Connelly (look them up) were "dingles" and very good players who went on to play for Rovers. So were a few others Quite frankly, it's a stupid comment
  9. Farke hasn't been able to keep Norwich in the Premier League for 1 season. Dyche has kept Burnley up for 6 seasons or so. So yes, makes absolute sense to prefer Farke because he's not a "dingle"
  10. There is one outstanding candidate who’s been barely mentioned - Sean Dyche There is also no reason why he should not be approached and at least asked the question. He can always say no Either way he’s the best man who is available and out of a job, including Farke. And as a bonus it would annoy Burnley fans intensely What not to like?
  11. "Sources" as in Alan Nixon type sources Might as ask the family dog
  12. It's called kite flying in newspaper circles......print enough speculative stories and one of them is bound to be correct.
  13. Cocu was manager of Derby for one season, finishing 10th. He also installed "total football" know to Derby fans as "Cocuball". So there you have it: mid-table 10th and another version of Mowbray's sideways passing game Cocu is perfect
  14. That won't be a popular view on here but it's a legitimate one. This time next season, after 12 months of turmoil with Rovers relegated back to to League One, we could be harking back to the halcyon days under Mowbray. It's not inconceivable and although I think his time is up, sometimes it's better the devil you know. In most cases, hiring a new manager is a gamble and like playing cards - do you stick or twist?
  15. Absolutely certain I’d say. Lots of disappointment through the summer as all the best candidates are snapped up by other clubs and then a few days before the start of the season some underwhelming non-entity gets the job.
  16. Not sure whether this should be on here or ICBINF but nevertheless an interesting story https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-lancashire-61300097 The question is, how will those who defected to the dark side cope with it?
  17. Leeds, Everton and Burnley are fighting tooth and nail for every point. I’m hoping all 3 escape and either Soton of Brentford go down. It’s possible.
  18. Barbara Ann - Beach Boys
  19. As a Rovers fan I suppose I shouldn't be enjoying Burnley's form but I'm pleased they look like escaping and it just goes to show that the Lancashire town teams can compete at the top level with good management and just a bit of ambition.
  20. Burnley win ....... I'd love Dyche at Ewood but it's amazing what a change of manager can do Any manager in the Football League would have done better than Mowbray over the past 3-4 months
  21. We usually do, throughout our history. Today was entirely predictable, as many did
  22. The worst thing is Bournemouth celebrating promotion at our place. Fourth division Bournemouth & Boscombe Athletic , a town full of retirees and care homes It shouldn't be like this
  23. Preston performance shown to be an aaberration as Rovers return to the usual timid selves. Watching fourth division Bournemouth supporters having a party at Ewood is going to be hard to bear
