  1. Really? Luton and Millwall are both in the mix
  2. Doesn’t many any sense, sorry. Nice to see you have a little friend
  3. Tony will deserve plaudits if we make the playoffs, which would be a big step forward for the club after the horrors of the past 10 years. I’ve said this twice today. Read my posts
  4. That's the point - he didn't fix it. The players did If he gets us in the play-offs Tony will deserve some credit, but we're not there yet by a long chalk
  5. That's true. Amid all the praise for Souness it was a relief when he finally left. The club should have sacked him but Newcastle made the decision for John Williams
  6. There were no "assumptions" on what was happening between Mowbray and the players. It's all out there Mowbray gets praise when it's due. After the appalling run we've had a good 20 minutes against a bottom 3 team after the worst 45 minutes that many supporters of decades standing described as the worst they've seen, he's a long way to go to win supporters' trust again.
  7. Absolute nonsense - and a misinterpretation of what was posted
  8. Yes and no. The players told him where it was going wrong and he took it on board. Some managers wouldn't. Without their intervention though it has to be assumed he would have stuck to his guns and we'd have lost another game If Mowbray gets us in the play-offs he will be due some credit. That should have been the easy bit though from where we were at new year
  9. Good try It appears Travis and one or two others bollocked Mowbray "in no uncertain" terms "why tf is a defensive midfielder (Johnson) playing up front"? No wonder Tony looked glum afterwards - he was being told how to set up his own team Managers are responsible for results - no one else
  10. At the risk of stating the obvious, one has been out for the best part of 2 years and isn't anywhere near match fit and the other has been injured at a critical part of the season and will take a few games to get back in his stride even when he comes back Hence, we were crying out for some more, decent strikers in January
  11. The Johnson thing was ridiculous, another case of Mowbray having a "system" and shoehorning players out of their natural position into it. Johnson as a "false 9" (stupid term) was never going to work Mowbray came up with the same rubbish for not going for some decent strikers in January - "they won't fit in our system" - ....as if there's only one way of playing football Hasn't he cottoned on that "our system" has been well and truly found out since the new year?
  12. So what went on at half time last night because Mowbray doesn't deserve any credit for that win after the way he set up the team and that appalling first half performance There must have been a player revolt. It's the only explanation
  13. ...... with a wide man Gallagher who can deliver crosses. Giles plays in his correct position on the left and hey presto! There is a caveat though .......the crosses have to be plonked right on his head or on his foot in front of goal. Don't expect him to get to a cross by anticipating it or getting in front of a defender As a footballer the lad's still a braying four-legged animal
  14. Tony's a very average manager but that patently isn't true
  15. Tony's either glum because his favoured line up came unstuck in the first half and he was proven wrong in the second or we won and have given ourselves a promotion lifeline when he'd rather we'd continue our decline into mid table Either way, a very welcome win and no thanks really to Tony as it appears the players' revolt brought about the second half turnaround Strange match when even Gallagher gets on the scoresheet. He's been so poor for a long time that comparing him to donkeys is being unkind to donkeys. Reading got a good draw at Bournemouth and will be up for the fight on Saturday Will we?
  16. Tony masterminds Rovers comeback.....contract extended by 10 years
  17. We could be down to 9th this time tomorrow night Better than last season but it's progress says Tony
  18. 9 games up to January. The rest has been standard Mowbray
  19. Surely not? The Ewood faithful don't boo, or so I was told
  20. How are we going to score 2 to win this ??
  21. Brizzle 2-0 down, putting our fine efforts against them into focus
  22. Mighty Brizzle City, our conquerors, a goal down at struggling Barnsley
  23. Brilliant though he is on TV, Souness is wasted as a pundit. He's only 68, younger than Hodgson and Ranieri, who are still managing, and still has so much to offer the game. Who wouldn't have him back at Rovers now? A few pearls of wisdom and he'd have this team back in the promotion race
