  1. Head down, buzzes all over the place but usually to no effect. Gallagher's "work rate" on steroids. I don't see the fuss over him but having said that he'll probably score a hat-trick
  2. No ifs, no buts, we're almost in last chance saloon to get this promotion push back on track. A QPR victory is unthinkable. We have to win. I'm going against instinct and think we'll scrape a win. The lads didn't deserve to lose at Sheffield and will be feeling aggrieved. Hopefully they can come out all guns blazing and put it right Rovers 2-0
  3. Hope you escape, mate. Much rather southern non-entities Watford, Brentford and Norwich went down Then Dyche decides to call it a day and joins us
  4. The question has to be asked, because ever since the Wigan FA Cup match, when Wigan bullied us and beat us and knocked us out of the cup, we've been on the end of some batterings and been found wanting. Before Wigan, we were on the crest of a wave in the Championship, riding high in 2nd place and looking at possibly going top, but since then it's been a horrible downward slide It seems to me Wigan provided the blueprint for Championship managers scratching their heads at our brilliant run and wondering how to counter it - rough us up with tough tackles, put the boot in where necessary, knock us out of stride and we'll capitulate. We're the nice lads who don't bite back Sheffield United last night was a case in point, they had some bruisers in their team who weren't afraid to make their presence felt. One was sent off (and it could have been more), but they scrambled a winner by making the corner a jostling physical contest in which Kaminski dropped the ball and they lashed home the winner from the rebound. The Luton, Forest, Swansea, and Hull matches were much the same. Then your look at our team. How many warriors do we have? The likes of Lenihan and Wharton etc are hard lads but apart from Travis who do we have in midfield to mix it with the tough nuts? Rothwell and Buckley certainly aren't that type of player while up front none of our forwards would say boo to a goose. In the case of Gallagher, he's as much physical presence as the proverbial passing butterfly So are we falling out of the promotion race not just because we can't score goals but because we're a basically a bunch of "nice" boys who opponents know can be bullied into submission? Are we just too soft?
  5. What makes you think he will go? It's his last job in football probably and even if we miss out he can still sell it to the owners as a successful season. I agree it's time for a change. My bigger worry than the next manager though is losing some of the talented young players that Tony admittedly has assembled at the club
  6. Khadra shaped up all wrong for the penalty, too straight on. You need to be at a slight angle either to wrap your foot round the ball into the bottom left corner or place it to the right. I always side footed penalties, aiming for precision rather power. Although he’s a confident lad and also loves taking free kicks Khadra didn’t look comfortable either. The senior players are to blame here, they have to put their hand up and take responsibility and that starts with the captain
  7. I think we’re all agreed that a failure to make the playoffs after the position we were in 2 months ago is now a red line for Tony Mowbray Whether he would go is another matter
  8. Kaminski will get blamed for the goal but the lad had an excellent game. We could have gone in 2-0 down at half time but for him. He’s hardly the problem though when we can’t score goals even when we’re handed a penalty
  9. It may have been mentioned before why didn't they try to get Armstrong back on loan? He’s not playing at Soton and I assume he’s not injured.
  10. Yep, Wigan and the January window debacle felt like turning points at the time - and so it's been proved. The worst thing is fans saying someone else has to "step up and score" when we clearly haven't the players who can do it. Brereton's been great but a loss of form or injury was always likely, and there's no one else.
  11. From the comfort of his armchair while slagging off people who don't attend matches Anyway, back to Sam Gallagher and his running abilities.
  12. On recent form I feared a big loss but we played well On the other hand, slagging off Gallagher's detractors by labelling them "ball watchers" and praising his ability to run all day is just insulting people's intelligence
  13. Rovers played very well, the best in along time. We should have won You comments supporting Gallagher were embarrassing.
  14. After 50 years watching you should take it in your stride and usually I do but that was hard to take tonight. Rovers somehow found a way to blowing a match we should have won. Starting with the Wigan match, it's been an absolute classic Tony death spiral. How does he do it?
  15. Rovers played well but you have to score. That was hard to take
  16. We've outplayed them, we really should be winning this
  17. We're so much better than Sheff. This is just like the West Brom game ...... another we should have won
  18. Ten minutes left to avoid a new unwanted club record.....
  19. Lack of leaders on the pitch ..... senior players like Rothwell, Lenihan etc should be putting their hands up
  20. Rubbish penalty ..... high and down the middle
  21. Career ending tackle that .... horrible
