  1. You can't drop him if he has a certain number of games written into his contract. The wages bit you made up. It's a bit silly to do that
  2. Who really cares about what's gone wrong at Old Trafford? It's a horrible club and most of their fans are the same. They look down on Rovers and clubs like us and it's wonderful to see them continuing to struggle. Let's wallow in their big defeat at a fourth division club. Liverpool up next I believe 😀
  3. Our manager might not want to select him because of poor form or many other reasons but has to pick him because he is stipulated by the contract to do so. The manager can't do his job properly and team suffers because the contract is loaded in Liverpool's favour Which is holding us to ransom. It's a bit silly to deny it
  4. Liverpool stipulating how many games their players plays and effectively picking our team is being held to ransom. You're being blind to reason if you can't see this. Your stance doesn't have any "principles" (lol). It just caves in to a so-called bigger and more powerful club
  5. Allowing Lenihan to leave without a replacement for him or Van Hecke was always risky. Chickens have a habit of coming home to roost. Venky's should know that
  6. Not really. We do need players but we should not be held to ransom by Liverpool dictating how many games he plays. That might be OK for Preston or Burnley but I'd like to think we have a bit more about us and a bit more pride than them
  7. I think Cooper (and the club's management) are doing exactly the right thing. It's taken Forest many years to get back to the Premier League and they don't want to go down in their first season. By buying better quality players and making the squad bigger they're given themselves a more than even chance of succeeding There's no such entity as the EPL by the way
  8. Scott Wharton will be a big miss today if he's out injured. Another reason why we need to bring in more players - and soon.
  9. It depends how many games Liverpool are demanding. 10-15 games might be OK but more than that would be unacceptable. The lad might be out of form or might not be good enough or fit in with the group. Clarkson was a case of a player not being up to the required standard - what if he'd had a 30-game clause in his loan contract? Either way I don't like it and I agree it smacks of arrogance on Liverpool's part. We're doing them a favour by giving him game time in senior competitive football when otherwise he might be warming their bench or languishing in the Under-23s. We're not Liverpool's nursery club
  10. Liverpool in effect picking the Rovers team and forcing the manager to play him Tell them not so politely to go away
  11. Fancy losing 4-0 to fourth division Brentford a week after losing at home to third division Brighton. Watching ManU fall apart is fascinating and delicious at the same time. They were relegated in the 1970s and it could easily happen again though you’d think they still have enough quality players to eke out the points to stay up. The manager has to take the blame here. Yesterday’s surrender was all down to him setting up the team wrongly and not preparing the players properly for a difficult game. At the moment he’s not under pressure and all the blame is being is being pinned on the owners but that won’t last if results carry on like this
  12. Good interview. Henry Winter's always had a soft spot for Rovers going back to his Daily Telegraph days. Unlike many national newspaper journalists, he knows and sympathizes about our torturous history since Venky's showed up too. Tough for the new manager to live apart from his family. In the long term it won't work
  13. It's irrelevant anyway. Unless you know better than the OED
  14. The Oxford English Dictionary offers two definitions of “acronym”: 1. A group of initial letters used as an abbreviation for a name or expression, each letter or part being pronounced separately (such as ATM, TLS). 2. A word formed from the initial letters of other words or (occasionally) from the initial parts of syllables taken from other words, the whole being pronounced as a single word (such as NATO, RADA). That's the OED, an acronym For the avoidance of doubt
  15. Where? Paul In Fantasyland Following Lightweight Enunciation, or PIFFLE This is clogging up the transfer thread and talk about the forthcoming arrival of scores of new players, which I'm sure is annoying many folks. In light of your continuing lack of evidence, time to move on and admit Acronyms Raise Societal Education, or ARSE
  16. Paul's Unsubstantiated Nonsense, or PUN
  17. Who is this someone person? They haven't been in contact Here another acronym for you The OED. It's all in there
  18. The problem with dullards is they always beat you with experience. Keep going, matey. Fans are entitled to express their opinions, even if some don't like them No need. Have you?
  19. Sometimes you just have to make it simple for those who are a bit slow on the uptake As for Carter, I don't think he's good enough to be a first pick and we need someone better. Probably one reason why we're after the Liverpool lad
  20. Condemned if they don't spend, condemned if they do. At least Forest are giving themselves a chance. They recognise they need more quality and numbers and they're spending the cash. As a Forest fan you'd be delighted. We're not doing spending and on squad numbers alone it's less likely to end well
  21. Nixon following up on a national newspaper story. Now there's a surprise.
  22. TBH, the use of acronyms such as CB, LB, RB, RHM, CF, CH etc etc all the time is completely OTT. If folks are too lazy to post decent English they'd be better to STFU
  23. Congrats on so many acronyns in one sentence. Is this a quiz?
  24. Hedges his bets does Nicko. He's bound to be right once. He's a classic hacking online kite-flier. None of the nationals would give him a job
