  1. From Russia With Love - Matt Munro
  2. Millwall had a good win over QPR last night and it won't be easy by any means. Teams have learnt that if they negate our counter-attack strategy by sitting deep and letting us come at them then we're pretty toothless and soon run of ideas I can see another 0-0.
  3. That's the first time and will probably the only time that Sam Gallagher will appear in the same sentence as Gareth Bale Unless it was being used as an illustration to compare donkeys and thoroughbreds On another note, don't see the love-in with Dolan. He buzzed around like he always does but there wasn't much end product. I'd only ever use him as a sub. Same with Khadra
  4. 8th Squad is already being exposed as too thin, lacking in quality in midfield and up front. Injuries and suspensions and loss of form will come into play
  5. After taking 2 points in the last 12 IIRC this has become a must-win game. No messing, 3 points, even if it's a scabby 1-0
  6. He wasn't just poor; he way off the pace. He couldn't even kick the ball properly. I've never seen much to suggest he could make it as a player
  7. Gallagher's just doesn't have the striker's nous. When a cross comes in he's either just ahead of the ball, or just behind it, or off balance, and rarely in the right place at the right time. Was it Wharton or van Hecke who missed the header in front of goal in the 2nd half, tried to glance it instead of putting their forehead and neck through the ball? Should have been a goal
  8. The defence was excellent overall, but I was a bit disappointed with Giles. His crossing wasn't great and I felt he could have got forward more especially in the 2nd half. Fact is we don't have a good crosser of the ball in the club, Gallagher and Nyambe can't do it - Nyambe really needs to work on the part of his game. Pickering's probably the best Don't understand the criticism of Travis - he had an excellent game. All teams need a water carrier and he's ours. Khadra is frustrating, head down and tries to beat a man every time, but please, not in our final 3rd. He's going to cost us a goal sooner or later. And he has to learn to release the ball at the right time. Overall, we should have won and it was a game I'm sure we would have won before Christmas. West Brom were there for the taking. Fulham and a few others at the top would have won easily
  9. Some observations from a wet and windy Hawthorns Rovers were excellent in defence Nyambe, van hecke and Wharton in particular were outstanding. Nyambe should never be dropped West Brom were very poor and their fans silent for most of the game in contrast to our fans who were excellent throughout Both teams looked lacking in a bit of confidence and will struggle to make the playoffs. Without Brereton Where is Rovers’ next goal coming from? Tony was back to his aggravating self with Gallagher in the right wing and our best player Buckley in the false 9 role. It just doesn’t work Like Butterworth I just don’t get Rankin-Costello. He’s a powder puff player slow in thought and slow physically, a poor passer and a waste of a shirt.
  10. Scottish Daily Express when Dave Sexton got the chop at Old Trafford "Jordan's boss sacked"
  11. Only Rothwell offers any attacking threat from that midfield. Buckley will be missed. Goal threat from midfield is virtually nil Nyambe should play but is a poor crosser of a ball so to score goals, that team is basically depending on Khardra and Pickering to bang in crosses from the left for Brereton or set pieces for Ayala It's a very limited team and shows how wrong the club was not to splash the cash in January
  12. My prediction is 8th place for Rovers - we'll gradually fall away from here because the squad lacks depth and quality - a failure to spend big in January Bournemouth winning with goals in the last 9 minutes isn't brilliant
  13. Bournemouth take the 3 points with goals in the 86th and 95th minutes That's why they spent the money in January and why they'll get 2nd automatic promotion place
  14. No The game is up IMO. Managers have worked out how we play; Tony doesn’t have an alternative that works and resorted to tinkering; and the squad is too thin and lacking quality - the January window was a big disappointment. Crucially, Brereton has lost form and a bit of confidence and without his goals we’ve no one to fill the breach. Goals from the midfield players are almost non-existent I expect us to finish 8th or lower
  15. Tony's seasonally-depressed Rovers. It's certainly depressing me I'm dreading the West Brom match and Steve Bruce's first win at home Anyone want 3 free tickets? I don't see why fans are pinning their hopes on Dack. He's hardly played in 3 years, he'll never be as good again.
  16. Bruce's first home game ? We all know how it's going to end up I've got tickets and I'm dreading it
  17. It's a classic Tony. One of the oddest managers I've ever come across
  18. Predicted a 2-0 defeat, only wish I'd put some money on.
  19. The January window was crucial. Why the owners didn't decide to turn on the spending taps then only they know
  20. Doesn't mean much if we keep losing
  21. Rovers have reverted to what we have been for the past few seasons ....... an average mid-table team. We were always punching above our weight in 2nd place but the play-offs will be a distant dream too if Tony doesn't sort this out
  22. It's going to take Tony's managerial and tactical genius to turn this one around.
  23. The Wigan fiasco and rubbish January window were turning points Plus, managers have looked at our unbeaten run and worked out how to play us Tony's lack of a workable plan B or C is being found out
  24. A draw would be a good result now; still sticking to my 2-0 Forest win bet And QPR winning too Final finishing position: 10th?
  25. Forget Dack; he's hardly played in 2-3 years. The lad will never be the same player
