  1. Today showed the squad needs strengthening and without 2 or 3 players who can make a difference even the playoffs might be a struggle We didn't lose though, so not a bad day
  2. As its stands, our rivals are having very good days... except for West Brom. Really need Barnsley to score
  3. Winning promotion come down to fine margins. We desperately need another forward or two (good ones) in the next 2 days - players who will make a difference and nick the points in matches like this. Butterworth is not ready for first team football.
  4. And to make a potentially bad night worse Huddersfield are winning
  5. Add Joe Rothwell to the list (chairman Derek Dougan) of Rovers players who've sought moves at the worst possible times. Did Mowbray see this coming, because he's got barely 2-3 days to come up with an adequate replacement.
  6. So fourth division Brentford have apparently turned little Joe's head. Goodbye and good luck. Dreadful timing amid our best run in 10 years and I just hope it doesn't affect team morale.
  7. On the eve of a vital game, that's just brilliant (note to mods: sarcasm). Apart from alot more money, why would he want to join fourth division Bournemouth & Boscombe Athletic?
  8. Even if he doesn't go, these things unsettle players and usually affect their form. Great move by Bournemouth to unsettle one of our key in-form players Why didn't we do the same to them?
  9. Isn't another forward (a good one) a priority? We rely on Brereton's goals and with the Tottenham lad out and Butterworth clearly not good enough at present the bench looks very thin.
  10. "Politicians are like nappies, they should be changed frequently. And for the same reason." RIP Barry Cryer
  11. Tough fixture this one, if we're not up to speed and in the right frame of mind from the kick-off like the Hull match we'll get beaten. Hoping for a win but think we might have to settle for a draw. 1-1.
  12. After Monday's "cameo", I wouldn't have Butterworth on the bench again. The lad just didn't look interested. Ship him out on loan
  13. Just about right Remember picking up the LET that night (for younger members no local radio or internet then) and the shock of seeing the front page story with a picture of Fred playing snooker with a grin on his face (IIRC) And it was a shock!
  14. Talking of Butterworth, what was wrong with the lad last night? He looked like he couldn't be bothered. I've seen him play only a few times but I've yet to see what he offers. Could someone explain?
  15. You never saw Sir Keith, Rev, a right footer who was equally at home on the left and top class wherever he played. David Nish was a classy right footed England left back in the 1970s. You're right about Nyambe though, I think he'd get outmanouevred at left back because the angles of play are all different and I don't think he's got the nous to do it.
  16. Rather harsh. Edun was up against on his flank the Boro right back, one of the fastest players I've seen in a while. The lad would have been a real handful for anybody
  17. ..... but certainly more central than his usual position on the right wing. The point is, he's much better in central role than out on the flanks
  18. Hands up all those who think SG played in his usual position as a wide forward tonight?
  19. Gallagher has his limitations as we all know but looks so much better when he's played in his correct position as CF. Tony please note
  20. So pleased with that result and performance . Boro should have scored but we deserved to win
  21. Some free headers for Boro there but the defence overall was excellent
  22. That's a great win.... unexpected ....... well played Rovers
