  1. It doesn’t .... but people do have inside information. Very commendable though that you wait for the story to be published in The Times before believing it
  2. Rothwell's pace and ability to glide past defenders from deep will be missed, no doubt His goal a few weeks ago was sublime and gave us 3 points when a draw was more likely As its stands, we're weaker without him that's for sure
  3. Mmm, rather have a good footballer than one who does a sing and dance routine too
  4. Yes Tyrone. Smacks of the same short-termism
  5. I'm appalled quite honestly but nothing surprises me. Bournemouth fans must be delighted Expecting to be sitting here this time tomorrow night with no new arrivals
  6. For once, I think you've got it right 👍
  7. Rule No 1: You don't sell one of your best players to one of your promotion rivals. You just don't Rule No 2: see rule No 1 Even if Rothwell has burnt his bridges with the club I can't believe Rovers are contemplating this.
  8. Isn’t Hedges the replacement for Rothwell?
  9. Hedges the replacement for Rothwell? We’ll see but any decent player in Scotland usually ends up at Rangers or Celtic and I’d be surprised if this lad makes any difference for us. Tony has signed some good ones and some duffers.....let’s hope it’s the former
  10. Today showed the squad needs strengthening and without 2 or 3 players who can make a difference even the playoffs might be a struggle We didn't lose though, so not a bad day
  11. As its stands, our rivals are having very good days... except for West Brom. Really need Barnsley to score
  12. Winning promotion come down to fine margins. We desperately need another forward or two (good ones) in the next 2 days - players who will make a difference and nick the points in matches like this. Butterworth is not ready for first team football.
  13. And to make a potentially bad night worse Huddersfield are winning
  14. Add Joe Rothwell to the list (chairman Derek Dougan) of Rovers players who've sought moves at the worst possible times. Did Mowbray see this coming, because he's got barely 2-3 days to come up with an adequate replacement.
  15. So fourth division Brentford have apparently turned little Joe's head. Goodbye and good luck. Dreadful timing amid our best run in 10 years and I just hope it doesn't affect team morale.
  16. On the eve of a vital game, that's just brilliant (note to mods: sarcasm). Apart from alot more money, why would he want to join fourth division Bournemouth & Boscombe Athletic?
  17. Even if he doesn't go, these things unsettle players and usually affect their form. Great move by Bournemouth to unsettle one of our key in-form players Why didn't we do the same to them?
  18. Isn't another forward (a good one) a priority? We rely on Brereton's goals and with the Tottenham lad out and Butterworth clearly not good enough at present the bench looks very thin.
  19. "Politicians are like nappies, they should be changed frequently. And for the same reason." RIP Barry Cryer
  20. Tough fixture this one, if we're not up to speed and in the right frame of mind from the kick-off like the Hull match we'll get beaten. Hoping for a win but think we might have to settle for a draw. 1-1.
  21. After Monday's "cameo", I wouldn't have Butterworth on the bench again. The lad just didn't look interested. Ship him out on loan
  22. Just about right Remember picking up the LET that night (for younger members no local radio or internet then) and the shock of seeing the front page story with a picture of Fred playing snooker with a grin on his face (IIRC) And it was a shock!
  23. Talking of Butterworth, what was wrong with the lad last night? He looked like he couldn't be bothered. I've seen him play only a few times but I've yet to see what he offers. Could someone explain?
