  1. That wasn't down to Danny Graham on his own... which you know of course You've always had a beef with him. I thought overall he was excellent for us. We've still not got a forward who can hold up the ball like he did.
  2. As many have pointed out, my takeaway from the Huddersfield game is that we will need at least 2 quality players in during January is we're to stay in the top 6. The team has done extraordinarily well to get so high in the table but to keep up that sort of form for another 20 games or so is unrealistic given that we'll inevitable suffer injuries/fatigue/individual and collective loss of form and occasionally some bad luck As it stands, this team could finish in the top 6 but I'd say the odds are still against us given the relatively small size of the squad
  3. Newcastle, Norwich and Watford to go down please This won't be popular but I don't want any Lancashire town team to get relegated, including Burnley
  4. Today showed that we will need some reinforcements for the rest of the season. It's a long, hard battle to get promoted and with tiredness and injuries likely to be a factor as the season wears on, the squad as it stands needs some quality additions to see us through for a play-off place never mind an automatic spot. Signing 2 or 3 key quality players could be the difference between promotion and the season falling away and staying down.
  5. A long, long way to go. Injuries and fatigue will be a factor as the season goes on. We need one or two (or more) reinforcements. Good ones
  6. West Brom 1-1 and QPR 2-1 finals
  7. Immutable law of the ex on the cards here
  8. Rovers look out of gas ....... it's a a very long season and small squad might take its toll
  9. I take that as a compliment Happy New Year too
  10. Probably not enough gates open Amateurs
  11. Weather or Ewood full to capacity?
  12. All the Championship games live on Sky Sports except Rovers ?
  13. How many managers survive a record 7-0 home defeat? There have been so many occasions during his tenure when Tony should have been sacked but here he is with a young team in excellent form and pushing for promotion. It could all go wrong of course and another famous death spiral would see us drop out of the top 6 but it would appear Tony has a job at Ewood for as long as he wants it
  14. They’re deluded if they think Brereton would save them. He’s not a top drawer player and would struggle against premier league defenders. However it would be typical of Newcastle to buy him and pay over the odds too.
  15. I didn’t think Armstrong would cut it in the premier league and I don’t think Brereton would either. He’s not technically very good, he’s not that quick and he’s not strong either; top class defenders in the PL would dominate him easily. He also seems to be a player who thrives on confidence, as at present, and would soon go back into his shell. I’m enjoying his current run of form but the reality is even if we got promoted we’d need to replace him if we wanted to survive in the top flight
  16. I think you've touched on why he's not worth the risk
  17. Mmmm, there's Covid in Nottingham too and their owners are almost as bad as ours, yet 27,000 turned up last night.
  18. Yep, and it's not as if he was an outstanding player even in his pomp. He's been without a club for nearly 2 years and no one's been willing to touch him with a bargepole Neither should we https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-9950467/Free-agent-Daniel-Sturridge-issues-come-plea-social-media-post.html
  19. He's a bad apple who would more than likely upset the good team spirit within the club. Avoid
  20. For personal reasons, I remember an end of season game against Charlton in 2001-02, nothing riding on the match though we were going quite well, a few hundred from Charlton but no more, but there were more than 27,000 on Ewood in the spring sunshine. I know thousands have drifted away never to return over the past 10 years but 14,000 for the last home game was disappointing. I'd hope we'll be nearer 18-20,000 for the Huddersfield match
  21. Difficult game, good side, but then so were Bournemouth and we beat them on their own middin. I'd be happy with a 1-1
  22. 27,000 at Forest tonight. 30,000 at Boro the other night. 14,000 for us against Barnsley isn't good considering how well we're doing
